Upon entering, they were welcomed by a bloody landscape, which had mountains of corpses all over, making the scene even more terrifying.

The sky was composed of two suns and five moons. There were even hilly summits that prospered in the opposite direction, as though they were about to hop into the sea from the clouds above, forming an incredibly unusual world.

It was an incredibly strange world, because it overlapped reality and illusion. From the mountain tops of mountains, they seemed to alternate between reality and illusion.

The blood seemed to be infinite -- though it seemed to be going through a cycle; it turned from an ocean that was close by the mountains to a river, and then from a river to a stream before turning into clouds; then, little by little, drops of blood fell and created new bloodstained oceans.

The environment was terrifying to the extreme, if anyone without a strong will were here, he would've already fainted by now.

After glancing around, Vermin and Adel found a place to stay at; there was a river two meter wide that they had jumped before entering a cave that was within a small hillside. Whose river kept other demons from getting in.

As they entered, they suddenly had a message in their heads, left, of the figure as it said:

'Due to you getting the Earth beast, the misfortune has gotten a level higher, on top of something that you'll find the connection with soon enough. Thus, there will be two additional punishments in addition to the calamity that you have to go through before starting the trials; as you will know more about them after finishing the calamity.

As to why you had the Earth beast as a companion before you began the calamity, They are beasts with inherent knowledge of Hell; as their other name is Asura Earth Beasts.

Their knowledge is only 2% of the layers of the real hell, but it increases as the beast advances through higher realms. Though they could not advance beyond the mortal realm because they exist only in planes that have the four primordial energies. Thus; their knowledge deems useless if they couldn't get beyond the mortal realm.

But the beast you got is a special one, as it has celestial talent that makes it reach the celestial realm, thus it is extremely useful for you when facing calamities.

It isn't the only assistance of Earth beasts, there are many other things with which they help, though, that we be slowly revealed to you in the future once you advance to a higher realm...' The message ended there, making both Adel and Vermin to become enthusiastic when they found that they would get through the calamity more safely...

A few hours later, they left the cavern in which they were, and heading towards a certain direction.

As they moved towards an empty horizon, they found a mountain ahead of them that made them feel that there was no end or summit.

How big could a mountain be? In Adel's imagination, the mountain top seemed almost able to penetrate the skies.

Looking back and forth, they couldn't see the land beyond the mountain. When they looked up, they couldn't see the summit as it penetrated the clouds.

Then Adel realized that he was in fact a long way from the mountain. It was only because the mountain was so enormous that it gave an oppressive feeling, making him feel like he was at its base.

They continued heading towards the mountain, until they saw the Earth beast slowly raising its head towards them, telepathically telling them to stop.

As soon as it said that, they felt an earthquake within a few kilometers of them. The earthquake wasn't a natural event, it seemed to be the outcome of a creature emerging from the soil.

They ignored it, as they went another way to reach the mountain, but despite hours passing by, they were surprised that it still remained far away from them.

'It seems that the mountain won't be accessible for us unless you finish the calamity. Therefore, it is better for us to stop heading towards it, and start killing as many low-level demons as possible.' Said the Earth beast telepathically to them, as it sensed their confusion.

Adel and Vermin nodded, after walking for a short distance, they saw a silhouette fly over.

'That's a demon!' hurriedly said the Earth beast to both of them, as it looked at it carefully observed the creature in the sky. The creature seemed a little strange. His whole body was reddish and translucent. Its upper body was like the body of a human.. It had arms and hands, as well as legs that didn't look human, as it had a few cuts in them, along with a faint red light over his body.

SLASH!

Adel quickly got his sword out of its sheath, and in a second smashed towards the demon.

The demon then turned to ashes as the sword slash touched it, which puzzled both of them greatly. But as they didn't hear a response from the Earth beast; the group continued walking forward and soon saw a few more demons. There were men and women among them, but weirdly though they were easily dealt with by Adel's slash..

"These demons are clearly at the Chi sensing realm. Why do they look so weak?" Vermin asked the Earth beast in puzzlement.

Although Adel was very strong, those demons were at the elementary realm after all. It didn't seem reasonable for them to be burned to ashes without any resistance.

The Earth beast only said something that made them even more puzzled: 'Weak? In a while, you will know if they are weak or strong.'

When Vermin asked again, the Earth beast didn't say anything else and continued walking with them.

Along the way, they came across a few more demons which were burned to ashes by Adel. These demons weren't the fastest nor were they strong. They lined the bottom of the elementary realm.

Days passed, and Adel and Vermin kept killing all the demons that they came across and absorbing their energies through the primordial balance technique, thus it made their bodies stronger. But their power stopped halted at the Nao transformation realm, which clearly meant they couldn't advance anymore.

The Earth beast also advanced, through eating the corpses of the demons, but it wasn't as much as the two of them. But it was still remarkable for it, as it had reached the Dao core establishment realm.

They previously couldn't manage to come close to the mountain despite walking for several hours, but as they reached the Nao transformation realm, the Earth beast told them to start moving towards the mountain yet again.

They continued walking as they now were now quite closer to the foot of the mountain.

But just as they were about to reach the foot of the mountain, he suddenly saw a giant female demon with a horn on its head, along with flames surrounding it.

After discovering them, the creature flew over.

Adel then slashed his sword towards her.

However, this time, His sword slash flames failed to burn the creature to death, as it only managed to injure it slightly.

Adel then looked at Vermin who nodded, then both of them smashed at it at the same time.

However, the creature's movement technique was outstanding, as it danced in flight, dodging all their sword slashes...

When it danced, the flames over its body flowed like a river throughout its body, going towards both Adel and Veemin. It looked extremely terrifying.

After a few more minutes, they managed to surround it with an array, then...

BOOM!

The air shook as the demon exploded to fragments, but they were still left intact enough for the Earth beast to eat.

The Earth beast hurriedly rushed towards them and ate them, leaving no energy behind for Adel and Vermin -- as the energy was within the body parts, therefore it ate the body parts without leaving it behind..

"Hey..."Shouted Adel for the Earth beast to stop, but he was too late as it already finished eating its body.

Adel sighed helplessly, before Vermin came to his side and asked the Earth beast in a serious tone "What was that? It was stronger than before, were it not for our united proficiency on arrays, we would've at least been severely injured by the beast"

'This is just the beginning, did you really expect the calamity to be so easy? The real fun lays ahead' Said the Earth beast out loud, as it could now speak due to its current strength that advanced to the Mana transformation realm, as it licked its lips excitedly.

Before long, they saw another demon that had the same characteristics as the previous one; though this time, it was a man. .

However, this time only Adel went as it already figured out its movement technique, thus he was able to fight it without it dodging his sword slashes.
