《Allister Hale's Story Graveyard.》Expanding Into Yesterday 3/13

This day started much like it had the last time. The biggest difference being a growing feeling that the ‘previous’ day was nothing more than a dream. Aaron didn't get out of bed, so he had no reason to turn on the light. With the light off there was no reason to think Aaron was awake so the dorm mother didn’t have any reason to call him down to breakfast. On days Aaron when absent from breakfast the conversation tended to be more lively and less restrained. Even if the rumors had been taken out of proportion Aaron was known for his short temper.

During the previous cycle Aaron had happened to notice the exact time that it had begun snowing. When it started this cycle Aaron found that it was a minute earlier. It was an odd and frightening discrepancy. By that point Aaron had been awake for just over two hours and, if this was a repeat of the same day and his previous experience wasn’t a dream, then it only took 2 hours for something as static as the weather to alter notably.

Around noon time Aaron had decided on an explanation. The valley where Aaron’s school, The High School Division of The Garden of Geniuses, was located, was known for its relatively easily influenced micro-climate. people notice/talk about him>affects people's actions indirectly>this filters quickly(because school) to people who have major direct effect on weather>1 minute time diff is relatively major effect on weather>>

Aaron was less concerned with why the weather was different than he was with not thinking about the issue of his classroom. The incident happened at noon, more or less. Aaron continued not thinking about it by going to one of the dorm’s student kitchen to make a meal for himself. If the students didn’t get sent home immediately following the incident then it would likely be featured on the 1 o'clock news segment.

When the news was nothing special Aaron went to the dormitory’s entry hall, where the students would enter before separating into the three respective wings; male, female, and the shared facilities. He brought a few empty notebooks with him and began filling them with his thoughts from the dreamscape and continued by putting those thoughts to work.

Eventually Aaron let out a yawn as he let his consciousness receded from his notes and back into the world at large. If he wasn’t mistaken about the time, which was a rare occurrence since he had trained his sense of time, it was midnight. Aaron made his way to his room and prepared for bed. As he lay clearing his thoughts so he could sleep he felt a bit of anxiety. Right as he fell asleep he identified the cause of this anxiety.

While it was possible for him to not notice anyone around him when he was working or reading, it wasn’t possible that no one had disturbed him from two o'clock when the dormitory students began returning until midnight. Students were to be in their rooms by ten. The Dorm mother was strict about that.
