By the time the group reached the inn Winter had chosen for them to stay over – The Frowning Man - darkness had already fallen and Chris and Daniel had entered the “if-I-make-another-step-I'll-fall-over” stage of exhaustion.

Winter and Ian were the ones who took care of the room arrangements and a quick meal downstairs at the bar, which seemed to be located in this ship's hold. They weren’t the only guests of the inn, but the only person who spoke to them, apart from the innkeeper, was a young redheaded man who bumped into Daniel by accident and said “Sorry, mate”; to their relief, they seemed to remain unnoticed.

Ian, Winter and the still hissing at everything Julia went straight up to their rooms after a joyless dinner. Chris and Daniel stayed behind, finishing their meals quietly in the company of a lone figure by the bar.

After half an hour they were the only ones left.
