《The Gamer Is Japanese》Moving Out

Coming down from his room as quick as he could, Kyoku almost fell down the stairs. He realized that he was behaving unlike himself. He was overly excited, something that he hadn't been in years.

'The last time was probably when I was still a kid.' - He thought to himself as he went down the last few steps as he usually would. As soon as he entered the kitchen, he heard his mother's voice. - "Ah there you are, Kyoku! We have some good news for you, so eat breakfast while your father and I explain."

It was a weird occurence, but it didn't stop his original plan of using Observe on his family. His little sister stil wasn't awake, so he'd have to Observe her later. - 'Not like it changes my plans' - he thought before Observing his first human target.

Name: Ayako Izumi

Alias: B.M.I.T.W (Best Mother In The World)

Level: 5

Guild: -

Guild Rank: -

General Information:

She is the loving mother of The Gamer. Belonging to the normal world, she is unaware of her son's new powers. As such, she is still worried about hi, since he appears to be unenthusiastic about... everything.

Kyoku opened his eyes slightly when he read his mother's Status Board. He wondered why hers lacked Stats or Equipement, but when he read about her belonging to the normal world, he understood why. There was no need for such things. On a different note though, he opened his eyes slightly at the end. How had he not noticed her worrying over his lack of enthusiasm?

'Now I feel like such a bad son...' - Kyoku thought while sliding a hand through his mahogany red hair. Since he hadn't been to a stylist in at least a year, his hair had grown back to its natural curls. Sighing, he decided to at least relieve her of such worries. - 'Moving on from that... dad'

Name: Hiroki Izumi

Alias: Supportive Father

Level: 7

Guild: -

Guild Rank: -

General Information:

He is the loving father of The Gamer. He shares most of his wife's worries regarding his son. Still, he trusts that they raised him properly and that he will get out of that funk on his own.

Seeing his father's level being so high was rather surprising, since that meant he had spent more time being a Broker than his mother being a Housewife... it wasn't that surprising. He just had to think about it properly. He knew his mother was an Art graduate who stopped her career as an artist to become a housewife, which meant that his father had indeed been a Broker for longer than his mother had been a Housewife.

Your power of deduction amazes me! (Not really, but you made it sound smart, so here you go)

WIS +1

Not feeling particularly stoked about the sarcasm in the notification, he still thanked Gaia for the free points. Then again, besides clearly increasing his ability to think calmly and make sound decisions... what did his stats do? Focusing on that, he got an answer.

Strength:

Literally increases your physical might, with an estimate is around 15lbs per point. 'Zero to hero, just like that!'

Vitality:

Increases your HP by 10 every two points (higher on later levels) and your overall stamina. 'That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run.'

Agility:

The higher the numbers, the nimbler, faster and more flexible you become. 'I'm fast. I'm very fast.'

Intelligence:

Increases your total MP by 5 every two points (higher on later levels) and increases the strength of spells. It also makes you smarter. 'You're a wiza'd, 'Arry!' Wisdom:

Increases your MP regen by 0.5/m for each point. It also makes you able to make more sound decisions. 'Run, you fools!' Charisma:

It makes you more handsome and overall, more likeable. It also increases your socializing skills. 'Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist'

'Was there really a need to add those quotes, Gaia?' - Kyoku asked the being in his thoughts. Unluckily, he couldn't continue the conversation with her because of his father suddely interrupting his train of thought. - "Kyoku, you've been accepted in Aoi'mizumi Arts Academy"

"Aoi'mizumi Academy?" - Kyoku asked, more to himself than to his parents. He had heard about the Academy a few times, after all it was the most renown Arts Academy in Japan. How could he have not heard about it? - 'But why would they accept me? I never showed any artistical talent!'

"We were as surprised as you" - his mother contributed before taking a sip of her morning coffee. If there was one thing he and his mother shared in common, it was the morning coffee. Kyoku took a sip of his own before answering. - "But... why? I don't remember communicating to them at all..."

He looked at his parents and he realized that they were just as confused as he was. When he asked for further information, his mother explained that they had received a call last night, saying that he had been accepted. His father was the one to continue the explanation further.

"I had everything checked and all documents are perfectly legal" - he said before wolfing down a pancake. Once he was done swallowing, he proceded. - "We thought about it and decided it was a good opportunity for you"

"Opportunity? What do you mean?" - Kyoku asked, already aware of why his father worded it like that. - 'It's because they're...'

"It's because we are worried, Kyoku" - his mother finished his own thoughts. There was no beating a mother's intuition when it came to their children, it would seem. He had done his best to appear as happy as he could, specifically to avoid hurting them. Alas, it had been futile. - "We realized that you don't... like the life you're living. And as much as it pains me, we thought that you would be happier this way"

Kyoku pondered about it. On the one hand, he didn't really like the idea of being away from his family. On the other hand, he did really want to attend Aoi'mizumi. It had nothing to do with his boring life, but with how convenient it would be. He had Gamer powers, literally. He would level up and he would probably get stronger, if his Stats descriptions where to be trusted -which he was sure they were-.

Everything was in favor of attending Aoi'mizumi and leaving the nest. He knew that he would, at some point, leave his house. He just didn't know that he was going to do so while still being sixteen and not even having graduated High School.

'Well, all things considered, this works on my favour... even if I am going to miss them' - he thought before opening his eyes wide. Thankfully he was looking down, so his parents weren't able to see that. - 'This is what she meant when she said I had to be careful on the train!'

Aoi'mizumi Arts Academy was located in Tokyo, which meant he had to take a train from his native city, Sendai. Realizing that Gaia knew everything from the very beginning reinforced his idea of everything being related to her.

"Ok... you beat me. I'll attend Aoi'mizumi" - Kyoku said in mock helplessness. His mother and father both smiled when they realized their firstborn was in higher spirits than before, acting like than and everything. As parents, seeing their children happy was their happiness. That was when a sudden outburst stratled them all. - "Oni-chan can't be moving to Tokyo! I still didn't even enter Middle School!"

Seeing his little sister, Kyoku immediately used Observe on her.

Name: Mizuki Izumi

Alias: Cutest Little Sister

Level: 3

Guild: -

Guild Rank: -

General Information:

Younger sister of The Gamer. She clings to her older because she sees him as the most amazing person in the entire planet. Sad because he is leaving.

After Kyoku hugged Mizuki and a lot of time trying to convince her that he would visit as often as he could, they managed to calm her down. After all, she was only a ten year old child who looked up to her older brother.

Later that same day, Kyoku and his family where in Kotodaikoen Station, where Kyoku was supposed to board a Shinkansen that would take him from Sendai to Tokyo. With himself, he brough only a small suitcase and his school bag. After all, he only needed a few clothes and his usual supplies.

"Are you sure you have everything you need?" - his mother asked for the umpteenth time in the last hour. Kyoku had a helpless expression on his face, sighing -also for the umpteenth time- when he heard his mother. Kyoku's father, while chuckling, appeased his wife. - "Calm down, honey. He isn't a little kid and you already asked ten times"

"Oh but... I'm just worried. It's his first time away and he might not even come back!" - she defended herself. While his parents were bickering, he was appeasing Mizumi, who didn't want to let go of his leg. - "Come on Mizuki... how about this. I'll bring you the biggest gift ever for you birthday, and two cakes! Sounds good?"

"Y-Y-You promise?" - she asked while trying to calm down her sobbing. Seeing him nod, she reluctantly let go of his leg. That was when a message was relayed all over the station. - "To all passengers: the train with destination Tokyo will depart soon, please board the train. To all p..."

"Oh! That's my call! See ya guys later!" - Kyoku said as he ran to the train's entrance. As he boarded the train, a black cat came out of it, walking without a care in the world. When the doors close and the train began moving, his excited expression changed. Taking a seat, he couldn't stop being alert. - 'Now what exactly do I have to worry about?'

To his misfortune, whatever danger there was, was already on to him.
