《Over & Over》Over & Over: Crash 3

Once he’d arrived at the place that Guillermo had set up for him, he walked past the scaled man and into a tiny room, where he changed into the disguise. It wasn’t all that comfortable, but as long as he got the information they needed it wouldn’t matter.

He knocked on the door to alert the guard that everything was alright and after waiting another minute, walked outside. It was dark, there was nobody around.

“Absolutely silent…”

He muttered to himself as he walked down the street towards his destination. He wasn’t used to seeing a street that wasn’t bustling with people, no miners, no street venders, no bars. It was certainly an eye opener.

Luke then walked up to the dilapidated theater. It had had a hay day a hundred years ago, but now it was just a shell of its’ former self. No longer did dancers strut around the large comfortable seats, or what were left of them at least. It was cold and damp, the theater was in the strong grip of decay and mold. The same feeling was clawing at him back home but… he was going to get back what he’d lost. Or what Crash had lost at least.

Quietly approaching a small wooden trap door on the stage, Luke placed his coin into a perfectly sized hole in the very middle. A few seconds later, the trapdoor lurched downwards, and he was lowered into a dark corridor. This was where his instructions got hazy. Sam knew about the Beiorgs themselves, but they’d likely changed a lot about their operations in the time that he had been away, something he’d adamantly said would be important if Luke was to pull this off.

Approaching a metal door, Luke knocked. A moment later, a small pullaway was opened, just big enough for the man on the other side to see who had approached the door. Luke swept his coin into the man’s vision, and soon heard tumblers moving in each of the individual locks. He was in. The large cloaked man who stood on the other side made a sweeping motion with his arm and allowed Luke to pass. In the next room the dim light gave way to a large facility with numerous cloaked men and descending rooms. The facility was strange, it was like a big hole directly under the old theatre. Glancing over the railing, Luke saw that the hole was dark, and near the bottom there were piles of boxes. The rounded outsides of the facility seemed to lead to living quarters and meeting rooms designed so that the Beiorgs could work and live here. Sam had said that this was to prevent them from gaining connections outside the organization. Secrecy was key, and it had worked for them thus far so there was really no reason to change anything on their end.

Now came the hard part, stealing someone’s coin. Not only did he need a different coin, but it had to be someone higher ranked than himself, or at least someone who had access to the warehouse. These people were few and far between and Luke didn’t want to get caught in the act of stealing information from a gang as dangerous as the Beiorgs. They’d kill him without a second thought.
