《Dream mastery》Hunter

Tommy Yang, Miss violet and Roland were now in the strange and dangerous forest. Roland was the name of the young man with glasses. He was one of the third’ years. Miss violet was a tall woman, but even then, he was taller than her. Despite that, he looked like a true bookworm.
He proposed to go and explore the forest. Sadly, both Tommy and Miss Violet where against that idea.
In the end, they decided to choose Tommy idea, because it looked safer and more useful.
“The monsters that attacked the school had cold weapons and seemed to be hunters. In this kind of situation, it will not be smart to enter their territory only with the three of us. We will camp not too far away from the school ground. We will scout the situation in this direction. In this way, if something happen, we can decide whether to act or to inform the people from school”
There was some thing else he did not say. None of them were familiar with this forest. There were strange plants everywhere. Even the plants that appeared familiar only had small resemblance with those they knew. They were bigger, far bigger and also more hideous. It seemed like they had adapted to this place. Looking at the tree sap that burned his clothes like an acid or the variety of thorny flower, Tommy became even more cautious.
They were not professional hunters and had limited eyesight in this forest.
“What if we set a trap?” Miss Violet proposed.
It was an interesting idea and the boys were not against it. But how do to do it.
Miss Violet tough about digging a pit and cover it with leaf. She received a big no. it would have been to taxing for their body.
“He would have been good if we had a piece of meat. We will place it somewhere and wait until something come to eat” Tommy thought silently before dismissing these crazy though. If he had meat it will be better to eat it yourself.

They stopped 600 meters away from the school after moving through the forest and waited about an hour.
‘Although the trees are big, there is still enough places for us to walk easily. I don’t know if it is because, the animals here are too big, or just other things often use this tract’ Tommy thought to himself.
At that moment he felt a soft tap on his shoulder. It was Roland; he saw the direction where he was pointing. There were movements in the woods. Soon they saw the familiar appearance of the humanoid green skinned monster.
Tommy kept calm and focused himself. It was a critical moment. The teacher’s hands were holding tightly on a bare; although she was shaking all over, she did her best to remain calm. Roland looked prepared to jump at any moment.
The monster was holding a wooden club, like the one that attacked the school, and he was hunched forward. It looked as if it smelled something. Their hearts were beating madly as the monster was getting closer.
Tommy felt some relief when it passed by them without reacting. Its back was now open to them.
It was at that moment that Roland launched himself forward with his crossbar raised. He was ready to strike the unprepared monster. The way he saw it, he was striking from the left while the monster was holding his weapon in the right hand. It could not defend itself in time.
In the mean time the monster grinned.
‘Those preys were amusing’
When Tommy saw it grin in their direction he knew that think had gotten wrong.
And soon his assumption was proved right. The monster threw his empty left hand backward and caught the crossbar in midair. Roland tried to struggle, but despite the fact that they had the same size, he could not take his weapon out of his grasp.
The next moment, Roland ducked down, and managed to evade the club strike from the green thing. In the place where he was a second ago, a side of the club was deeply embedded in the ground.

A large grin could be seen on the monster face. Almost, like he wanted them to remember that since they arrived in this world, they were not the hunters but the preys. It did not look like an animal at all. It was a devious creature that could play with people hearth.
Roland was now empty handed facing the monster; Miss Violet was petrified, and Tommy was crippled. The weakness of their team was being shown.
The monster as if it had predicted this did not seem to care about them at all. He was still advancing toward the crouched Roland. It was at that time that a metal bare was send flying toward him. it evaded the strike that almost touched his head and turned toward the two weak people. In the mean time the thrown metal landed near to Roland.
At that moment, Even Tommy was confused.
“How is it possible? Was she targeting the monster or just giving the thing to him?”
At that time Tommy saw a wooden club flying toward him. He pushed Miss Violet away and threw himself toward the ground. But different from Roland he did not evade in time. He felt t pain and saw his shoulder. A part was missing.
‘This monster is too vengeful’
In the meantime Roland decided to strike the monster, again. He was striking at the head but the monster blocked it with is empty hand and used the crossbar to strike at Roland.
The crossbar was not as big and heavy as the club, so the man managed to evade it more easily.
They started to use their ‘weapons’ like swords, fighting against each other. He even blocked a strike at his head with his empty hand like the monster did previously. The problem, He was not as strong. He heard the noise of his bone crack.
They only exchanged a dozen of strikes, and their two ‘weapon’ were destroyed. Seeing the piece of metal that had changed shape in his hand. The monster threw it at the man on the ground while looking spuriously at him.
Roland did not feel the strength to move anymore; even his hands and he finger felt numb. He felt death closing.
The monster was hunched forward ready to take his prize when suddenly someone fell on him. He stood up and threw aside the person on his back with all his train only to find something tighten on his neck. He was thrown backward with his own motion. Now, lying on his back it tried to untie itself. But the more he cried the more the rope tightened soon enough, it could not breath anymore, and after some time it remained motionless.
All this time Tommy despite the pain of being thrown away, and the blood that was flowing out of him, was holding tightly on his end of the rope. He only let it go when he did not feel any resistance on the other size.
It was not that he was assured of his victory, he was just too tired.
‘What he had just used was a variant of the Scaffold tie, better known as the death node’. The more strength you used, the more the rope tightened. The only limits of this technique was the existence of a way to untie it, and secondly the solidity of the rope.
The monster although smart, could not compare to a modern man in term of knowledge; and unfortunately for it, it was also to strong for its own good.
When the green monster finally died, a black crystal flew out of it, and entered through Tommy right hand. It was his least injured hand. Now on something that looked like a purple drop of tear had appeared.
Not far away from him, a woman was beating a monster corpse.
“Does she know that it is already dead? And that she will not obtain anything out of it?” Tommy was confused.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
