《Forsaken By The Light》Chapter 11

The control that Anguiné maintained over the water of the lake was impressive, sometimes she would conjure large pillars of water, sometimes she would transform the water into large ice spears. Furthermore, the physical prowess she displayed was impressive!
The fight between the snake and Helena had been going on for a few hours ... Helena had already lost all of her other bodies and the wounds were accumulating through her body. And the worst of them was located in the belly, a large horizontal cut that had opened and frozen his intestines.
But the Amazon stood, holding two swords, and the sparkle in her eyes gave off a different sensation.
The woman carried within her the power of the Hydra line. An incredible mystical creature that had great regenerative abilities, physical strength and poisonous abilities.
However, each individual in the Viridi family would develop peculiar skills that best suited each person's magical experiences and talents.
Helena felt despair when faced with such a formidable creature from the fifth circle. The start of the battle was disjointed and she was unable to fight effectively. However, after being injured several times and on the verge of death. The woman became more and more resolute, and her combat prowess was finally beginning to be demonstrated.
The serpent thought that Helena was just another insect that came to disturb his peace, just like the other monsters in the abyss. But she had an unpleasant surprise during the fight. The woman had regenerative abilities as impressive as her own. And it seemed that she grew more and more in power.
Anguiné was a monster with a sharp instinct, and every minute of combat gave the feeling that something was wrong. She was fighting seriously and yet she was unable to kill the woman. Even though she knew that her power over magic was greater, the woman always seemed to return from the embrace of death.

The battle continued in a stalemate for another two full days and both sides were injured.
The snake had wounds all over its body and its magical power was already in the reserve and the lake was stained red.
Helena was in an even worse situation, one of her arms had been amputated by a snake's tail and her wounds had already stopped regenerating. She remained standing thanks to her great physical ability and a vigor that seemed to be endless.

— It seems that he really abandoned me ... Although it was possible, I did not imagine that a proud man like him would leave me behind.
— But it does not matter. I shouldn't be sad about this, he saved me once, it would be too much to ask for a second time.
— This battle has already taught me a lot about how I can demonstrate much more power in a life and death combat. And I could see that I am much stronger than I imagined.
— I never thought I could keep fighting for several days against a beast from the fifth magic circle.
— My grandfather would be proud of me ...
Helena was pondering what to do ...
— I can still escape with my life! The great sea serpent never left the lake in all these days of combat, which means that I can abandon this battle and escape for my life ...
— However, I would not be able to survive for many days without any source of food or water. Even more to get past the monsters that guard the space crack.
— The only alternative is to have faith in Lord Augustus. And to believe that he will eliminate this monster and get me out of this wretched place.
This battle was revealing to Helena in several ways. She found that she was much stronger than she imagined, that her bloodline was a much more powerful weapon than she had thought. And that she could remain calm in desperate situations.
Unlike when she saw her entire expedition die at the hands of demons. From when she was abducted, she suffered torture and was almost sacrificed. However, this time she felt that there were chances to overcome this terrible situation in which she found herself.
— I will fight until the end!
— I will try to do as much damage as possible and wait for Lord Augustus to finish this monster.
Then the light returned to your eyes and the battle returned!
This time, even though her arm was severely wounded, Helena demonstrated even greater battle power. Its cuts deeply penetrated the snake's scales, and it seemed to be drunk on the feeling of battle.
Augustus, who was involved in darkness, watched the combat closely.
— Her bloodline is really monstrous!

— Endless vigor, physical strength and great magical ability. — The angel thought.
Augusto's initial plan was to use the woman as bait and wait for the snake to show some breach so that he could deliver the final blow. In addition, he wanted to understand how the human who would accompany him to the space crack struggled. However, the longer the combat lasted, the more he was impressed with Helena.
— She is a rough diamond, with due care, she could become a great battle valkyrie. The lineage seems to be very expressed in his body, his skill with the sword is also not bad. However, she sins in the magic item.
The angel noticed that the woman had a great magical reserve, but she was unable to use the spells in sync with the physical attacks. Furthermore, it appears that she was unable to manipulate the mana around her masterfully.
— I can try to teach you some things, although my fighting style is not suitable for everyone.
— She who has a great regenerative capacity will be able to follow my lessons.
— It's good that she surprised me. It would be difficult to trust someone who can't even accompany me. And I couldn't be bothering to save you all the time.
So he decided to move.
— I think it's time to end this beast.
The monster was already exhausted and had only a small amount of magic in it.
Augusto left the protection of the shadows and released his magical powers, scaring the snake with the appearance of a creature with such dense mana. Worse, a creature whose presence she had previously failed to notice.
The snake felt an urgent urge to flee to the bottom of the lake. She knew that the appearance of this new individual would mean his death.
— There are no chances of escape for you! Said the angel.
Then his body turned into shadows and he disappeared, as if his shape had faded, leaving only a few shadows. Then it reappeared on top of the snake's head.
— He used [Blink], although it looks a little different, I've seen some of the older members of the family use it. — Helena thought
[Blink] was a difficult skill to master, because it involved high control over an element. The spell consisted of making your own flesh the chosen element, dispersing all this energy and then concentrating it on the point where you want to materialize. For this, two things were necessary: a very high understanding of an element and a very refined control of mana. This would define how fast the spell would be cast and the distance to travel.
— Don't worry, poor creature. Your flesh and blood will be used to strengthen me. And if it consoles you, you can understand that you have become the nourishment of a superior creature. — said Augusto, while laughing.
Then all the dark energy in the room accumulated in his hand in a matter of seconds. The darkness took shape and formed a great harpoon that was wielded by the angel, who pierced the creature's head.
The force of the blow was so powerful that the harpoon made of solidified darkness went through the creature's head and went into the ground.
Augusto penetrated the head of a monster that was a larger circle with such ease that it left Helena impressed.
She, who was in a deplorable state, did not fail to thank the angel.
— Thank you, my Lord, again you saved this woman's life.
— HAHA HA! Don't lie to me Helena, I know you thought I left you. But don't worry, I never meant to.
— My plan was really to use you as bait to wear off the monster's power. But mostly, I wanted to understand how you fought, and what the extent of your power was. Said the angel.
— How do I do? Asked Helena.
— Very well, I must admit. — said Augusto.
— In addition, you can understand the advantages that life and death battles can offer. And yet he realized that the focus on combat will always help you to overcome situations that you thought were insurmountable.
— Let's stop talking, I need to take the heart and blood of this beast.
This was how the story of the first battle of Augustus and Helena would be told.

Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
