《Lucky SP》Chapter 1 - Death Awaits

Spencer Red was an average slightly overweight American dad. He had spent most life working as an electrical engineer for Boston Mechanics. It was the year 2013. He wiped his mouth as he finished his frozen dinner in front of his television. The television was showing a tall man lazily speak in front of a podium. Burst Industries, a private arms dealer, was announcing a new technology and a partnership with the middle east. Reston Burst, the young genius CTO, slurred his words lazily as he praised the new unveiling of technology to help America fight back against the terrorists in the middle east. Spencer turned off the television and disposed of his trash. He should not care too much about geniuses like Reston. He was not in the same league as him. Nor was he still a young man. He had turned 30 this year. However, he felt like he was really 40. The stress over the past few years had aged him faster. The new evolution of Humanity known as Alphas, who had awakened their Alpha-gene, cause normal people like Spencer a lot of worry. Crime had risen to an unseen level. Alphas could generate 10x the strength of the normal man. Large crime gangs formed with Alpha humans at their core. Wars continued over gangs trying to claim their spot among the elites. Then there was Spencer. Just a middle aged regular man works a 9/5 with 100k in debt. Where can a common man like him survive in a world like this? A world of Alphas, geniuses, and the unexplained, all fighting for hegemony of the future. Spencer is just an ordinary man. He loves his job. Works long hours, and repaid his father's debt with each paycheck. Spencer grabbed his keys and locked the apartment door on his way out. "Time to work." he cheered monotonously. He climbed inside his Boston Mechanic van and drove onto the busy streets of Old Wolf Road towards downtown Chicago. The radio was tuned to channel 95.7 playing classic rock. ... 15 mins into the trip downtown. Spencer was driving full speed in the center lane on the highway. He suddenly felt a pain inside his chest. His heart pained and his face was paralyzed. His left eye drooped down. "I can't move my arm" he panicked. His face's left side and arm was completely paralyzed. 'Heart Attack! These are the signs of a heart attack.' His eyes constrict to pin needles as he noticed the armored van in front of him. It had large warning labels branded across it with red and orange skull Alpha-gene icon. It was surrounded by many black window-tinted cars. Spencer looked over and saw an exit ramp right off to his left. 'Hurry let me try and pull off the highway at this exit and dial 911!'. Spence stepped on the accelerator and turned hard to the exit across the lane. The Black window-tinted cars immediately reacted. It was as if they were waiting for someone to make a move. They rammed their cars into Spencer's van. Their crash was a catalyst and his heart attack instantly bloomed. Immense pain surged through his body and he fell unconscious. His foot slumped down on the accelerator. The van burst out at full speed and rammed into the armored alpha-gene car, sending both of them swiftly off the highway and onto the ramp below. The impact of the falling off the ramp was the same high as a full one story building. Both the fall impact and Spencers Boston Mechanics van's impact was enough to break open the chemicals containers in the back of the Alpha-gene truck. Spencer's unconscious body broke out through the windshield of his van and collided onto the pavement covered in the chemical solutions. Spencer's body absorbed the chemicals, which had splashed out in a puddle. A few other cars were also splashed with liquid chemicals. The black window-tinted cars quickly pulled around the ramp and raised their pistols at each person who had come in contact with the solution. Fortunately for them, no other things happened. Everyone was cooperative with the investigation and the coroner called Spencer's cause of death being a heart attack and the impact with the pavement. He died the moment his head hit the pavement. His body had absorbed a significant portion of the Alpha-gene solution and the solution could no longer be recovered. And since he was already dead, the men were at a complete loss. It had already bound to his DNA. One could say he was one lucky guy. The coroner made special note of Spencer's body's condition from the Alpha-gene solution. He would have had to endure the pain of his nerves combustion from genetic breakdown. The men cleaned up the scene quickly and moved Spencer's body to the nearest hospital before calling their superiors. ... A man in a full suit frowned as he looked down at Spencer's body. His black sun glasses reflected the light's glare on the ceiling in the hospital. "Tell me." "We have looked into everything we can. Even 'His' recovery technique can't save this man. The Alpha-gene awakener chemicals were too concentrated! His genes couldn't handle it and they already broken down." A doctor gave a comprehensive report quickly. The man's frown deepened, his forehead creased heavily. "Then, use his body to test the genetic stabilizer. We must recoup our losses on this. The genetic solution for the Alpha-gene awakener chemicals are not cheap. Didn't doctor Ray ask for anything useful which might help his research? Send it to the morgue lab." the man said. "Yes, sir." the soldiers saluted. ... 2 hours later in a morgue/lab in downtown Chicago. Dr. Ray held a new gene stabilizer, in a glass vial, he had created. He had spent the last few hours testing on Spencer's body. He had finally found a solution. It seemed to have an effect on his combusted gene's. If the strength was increased slightly, wouldn't it be able to have a greater effect. He flicked the syringe and injected it into Spencer's arm. "A pity you can't be alive. But don't worry, I'll make good use of your corpse." He sighed. This man was only 30 years old, but his heart showed him to have been under immense stress for at least a decade. He had a heart attack at 30. Dr. Roy shook his head. 'I should wrap things up.' Dr. Ray took off his gloves and set the back up syringe on his desk along with his report on Spencer. He locked the door as he left the morgue. He needed to head back home early. His son's birthday was today. ... Inside the silent morgue. An invisible red-black energy vortex spun above Spencer's corpse on the table. It slowly grew larger as time passed. Low whale-like noises sounded from the vortex, but nobody noticed. 4 hours passed in this way, until late at night. Spencer's heart silently started beating again.

Disclaimer: I'm not continuing this story. Check out Azarinth Healer, it's a more current story where I worked on a lot of things I found wrong with this one. Main character is somewhat similar as well so if you like Eleonora, you'll probably like Ilea. I still invested a ton of time writing this so check it out if you feel like it. There's gonna be 20 Chapters 39k words total. Hey everyone. This is a story I've started writing like a year ago and thought why not post it now. This story is about fighting and magic in a pretty standard fantasy world. The story follows Eleonora through her daily life in Duneswatch and on her way to become an adventurer. No secrets here, it's pretty generic. Should be decently paced so just give it a shot if you want to. I'm not gonna sell it to you in this quick summary. The range of writing on RR is so wide we both know you just have to give it a chapter...or a paragraph depending on how unique the grammar is. Please do criticize harshly. I'm definitely no writer but everybody can improve with pointers in the right direction. Don't expect regular updates.

Not So Bold
A store clerk wakes up one day in a body not his own. Then wakes up back in his bed, it was just a dream. Right? He soon finds himself living a duel life, bouncing between his mundane life as a shelf stuffer and a strange new one. One where he has floppy ears and itty bitty paws. Notice of Hiatus: At the moment I'm going though a bit of turbulence and won't be able to update for a while. I'm also unsure about weekly/monthly releases. I'm considering writing a large group of chapters then posting them all at once or otherwise setting up releases in a way that makes sense. I'm still figuring out how to go about this particular endevor and thank you for your patience.

Volatile Gods
The Gods have come. Not the benevolent gods from religions across the world. They are gods of chaos and mayhem. And humanity is their primary source of entertainment. And the cruel humans that worship them? The gods give them abilities—powers to “entertain” the gods—and call them Worshipers. How do I fit into this story? Well I met a boy; quiet, naïve but adorable Nathan. Imagine my surprise when we run into Worshipers and instead of tearing us apart they bow to my nice, quiet boyfriend. Not only is Nathan a god, but he turns out to be the leader of the gods, Prince. He decides he wants to keep me. I run. I run right into a group of rebels calling themselves Warriors and they think I’m the key to killing the gods. I would call them crazy but they have gods on their side too. Gods who want Prince dead.
