《Reborn: Last Chance to Ascend》61. Metalic gore!

??? POV:
I stopped running to listen for any pursuers coming after us. The only sounds I heard were steps of my angel and a cacophony of night insects in a forest around us.
With all tension finally gone, I laughed, "Hahaha, this was such fun! "then I looked towards my angel. She was vigilantly looking around.
Seeing that she was alright, I smiled. 'Well, the old location is behind me, and a new one is in front of me. It's time for a new form' I put my finger on my chin, 'Who will I become this time? Hmm, I was a badass rogue swordmaster for a long time, so I want something different. Maybe a valiant knight or a young and arrogant sword mistress?'
After a while, I decided and brought a mirror out of my [Item Box]. Carefully placing it in a place with flat and dry ground. Then I let my fantasy and magical power surge. TIngling feeling spread all over my muscles, and the man on a reflection started to grow shorter. His figure slowly changed toward a more feminine one. His well-formed muscles vanished, his hips became slimmer, and two spheres started to grow on his chest. A more intense wave of tingling came as his face became much less rough and started to look feminine. Finally, his hair prolonged all the way towards the waist, finalizing his transition from him to her.
When her body transformed, her clothes started to change too. The lightly armoured top became much tighter, closely hugging her voluptuous curves, pants turned into a knee length battle skirt and pair of shiny silver shin protectors. Plenty of gold and silver accessories appeared all over her outfit, giving it an expensive look.
I curiously started to touch all over my new body, feeling every shape and crevice.
"What do you think about my new form?" With my new feminine voice, I asked the angel that was impatiently waiting.
"Yes, you look good. But now, let's go. I don't want to sleep in the forest."
End of ??? POV:
A streak of purple lightning followed by the second and third passed through the corridor, hitting a walking suit of armour to its chest. Power passing through the metal caused it to glow in heat as the chest part melted.
A notification appeared in front of my eyes. I ignored it as I walked towards its remnants. With my hand, I reached towards the deformed armour, and a small tingle of the purple death energy flew out of it. It met with my hand and got absorbed.

'Ahh, this is more tiring than I expected. This is too boring to just keep killing weak enemies... When I asked Bifrons to add space in the dungeon where I can farm death energy, I wanted him to add something more interesting than a grid of rooms, each containing one enemy.' I sighed inwardly.
I gritted my teeth and walked towards the door leading to another room. It was the same plain stone room with one golem knight standing in the middle. Immediately after I entered the room, its eyes blazed up with flames. It dashed towards me with a massive two-handed sword in its hand. Before it could reach me, I pointed my hand towards it, and purple lightning flashed once again, hitting the golem knight straight into its metallic helmet-like head. Knight staggered in its steps. Before it could recover, another two purple bolts of lightning stroked, hitting it the second and third time. Armour partially melted, exposing its flame-like inwards before collapsing to the ground.
A new announcement flashed before my eyes, but there was no thrill or happiness. I just walked towards the destroyed suit of armour and absorbed death energy for more than a tenth time in the last half an hour.
That made me realize something, 'I think I became addicted to adrenaline and the thrill of battles... But this can't even be counted as a battle. At least I managed to reach a new level.' I knew that farming weak enemies in a safe and controlled environment was the best option, but I wanted something else.
My gaze turned in the direction of the forest, and vivid memory of my fight against the corrupted beasts flashed before my eyes. But I shook my head. I wanted a thrill. However, I wasn't insane as to risk my life for it. Then I looked at my two hands, 'That's it! I have my claws, but I never tried to learn how to properly fight with them. I only used them for surprise attacks or to defend. This is a great opportunity to learn at least some basics as it will be more thrilling, and at the same time, it will be still safe. '
Long black metallic claws slowly ejected from the tips of my fingers. I swung them through the air leaving small trails behind them. Then another set of claws ejected from the spaces between my fingers. These were straight and ideal for stabbing. I decided to use both pairs at the same time as there was no reason not to.

With a grin plastered on my face, I walked straight into another room. Immediately golem knight with a massive mace threw itself towards me. I instinctively wanted to cast a spell, but I stopped myself from it and instead, I took a step to the side.
A massive metallic body blasted by my side, my hairs moving from the air movements it caused. I immediately tried to attack it before it turned back towards me. I drastically underestimated its speed as it managed to turn back in time and swung its burning mace horizontally on me. I ducked downwards, not wanting to rely on my barrier. Mace passed above my head, leaving traces of flames behind it.
My heart started to pump faster as adrenaline filled my body.
I swung my claws towards the golem's outstretched arm holding the mace, severing it right under the elbow. Mace fell to the ground with a thump.
Already expecting victory, I let my guard down. Golem used it as it threw itself with its heavy body right against me. A barrier appeared around me and blocked any damage as it collided with the tank-like golem, but I was still sent flying by the kinetic force from the collision.
I quickly jumped up from the ground. At the same time, the golem used its remaining arm to grab the mace from the ground. Not giving it any respite, I rushed towards the golem. It swung its mace diagonally, trying to bash my head. I slightly moved to the side, letting mace narrowly pass by me. Mace hit the ground, and a small explosion of flames erupted, searing my barrier.
'How could I forget about these weird special moves in this world.'
Using my superior speed, I moved forward, getting the golem into my reach before the golem could bring up its mace from the ground.
Leaping from the ground, I stabbed with my claws towards the visor of the golems helmet. My claws easily pierced through the black metal and hit flames filling the helmet.
Golem's blazing eyes under the visor flickered only to return to normal a second later. A massive metallic knee moved towards my abdomen. Too focused on my attack, I didn't manage to react on time. Golem's armoured knee hit the barrier, creating ripples on its surface and sending me flying.
I frowned at that, 'I guess it would not die so easily as it has no vitals... In that case, I should target its limbs to cripple it... Wait a second, why am I trying to avoid using any abilities in the melee battle. This is the world with the system; using weird moves in the battles to supplement normal moves is standard, and I should be doing the same thing. I don't have many of such abilities, but I still have a few of them.'
Golem was already running towards me with its mace held above its head. I turned to face the running golem and started to run too. The air around me glowed in tasty looking mint colour as I cast [Wind Dash]. When I was only three meters from the golem, I leapt upwards. Before I could fall, I pressed against an invisible point in the air, prolonging my time in the air. I flew above the golem's head, narrowly missing the mace swung like a fly swatter.
I dropped behind the golem and swung my claws towards its knees. Golem had already started to turn, but my claws were faster as they dived into its metallic legs. Easly cutting metal as if it was paper.
"Bang! Ding! Clank!" golem fell and hit the ground. I immediately swung my claws towards its neck, severing the head. Flames inside of its severed neck kept burning, so I unleashed a storm of swings. My claws were scraping and cutting away pieces of metal.
A massive hole was cut out in the middle of its torso, and flames were finally extinguished.
"This was much more fun! It would be som brutal if it wasn't just a lump of metal."

Notebook of possibilities
First of all, to those who started reading this I want to apologize. While it does have a ring of a nice story title, this is going to be a place where I take the Sparks of interest from other stories or random ideas and just put it down, I'm not sure how exactly but the title should summarize the basics of what is held within. To say it's a waste isn't accurate, to ask the question why is a good start, why would I want this? Because when I read a story I want to think of so many things I may see or find in the world they envision, all the possibilities that could come about, and maybe, just maybe, some author out there can get their hands on this and it will be a spark of creativity for them to make a new chapter and see their world even a smidge closer to what I think it could be. It is tagged as fanfiction for it will pertain to numerous stories, not simply one in particular. Currently it will include; Oblivion Online Dungeon Heart And many more to be listed as they appear.
