《Reborn: Last Chance to Ascend》57. More wings, for me !!!

My body emerged out of the hot water, steam still coming out of my skin, as I walked out of the small pool.
My dirty clothes fell out of the [Item Box], and dim light of utility magic surrounded them, cleaning them from dirt before I put them on. Lastly, I straightened my hair with my hand before walking out of the room.
More and more auras started to appear in the castle, signalling that the darks had returned. I easily noticed a familiar aura and walked straight towards it, phasing through walls like a ghost.
"!!!" maid fainted as I appeared out of the wall in front of her. I smiled and continues to phase through another wall.
It was Leader talking with a bunch of other darks. Their robes were covered in dust, soot and blood.
"How it went?" all of them turned towards me.
Then Leader spoke, "It is done, we had some casualties, but all of their bases are destroyed. Survivors are currently pursued by our units.", emphasising the word our.
I just nodded and shouted, "Bifrons, open the portal for me, please!". Dazzling rainbows of a light condensed into the oval shape of the portal.
"Wait, where..." The leader tried to stop me, but I ignored him and entered the portal as there was something more important that I had to do, 'Finally, it is time to spend my CE... Hmm, I didn't even check the content of the current tier of the shop."
Space around me changed as I appeared in the Bifron's secret room. He was sitting on his throne with closed eyes and magical energy moving around him. I didn't bother him as I walked straight into the side room prepared for me, where I sat on the bed.

Option 4: Void bloodline manifestation stage:
Unlocked due to the presence of Tenebris of Void bloodline in the host. ???
(Warning!!! This bloodline is not originating from a celestial lifeform. Evolution will have unknown effects.)
My eyes quickly moved through the options, only stopping at the last one, 'This one is new. But that part about unknown effects sounds a little bit too sketchy. I will rather stick to the first three options.' I rubbed my temple as I started to think, 'I need to think about which of these elements are currently most useful to me. With that, the third option is out of the game as I don't even know the magic that is using these three elements. That leaves me with either Nether or Aether one. I am using the fire element in almost all of my spells, but the same applies to the lightning element. Hmm, the light element is part of the solar light element that is part of the solar element, so its improvement would boost my strongest magic.
'On the other hand, I am using nether element only thought my staff... But I have the real demon from nether with me, so I guess all of the stuff he can make will be with the nether element. Yes, Nether bloodline would probably make me more compatible with Bifrons, which is currently important.'
So I chose to manifest my Netheric bloodline.
Dark red energy surged out of my body, whirling in a tornado of chaotic energy. Bed under me, and my surroundings started to warp and shift. Their colours kept changing every second, together with their material and texture.

'So this is the power of Nether...' my conscience faded into darkness.
Hours passed, and my eyes opened, revealing irises flickering with energy.

I widely grinned at the upgrades I obtained after my last evolution. Then I looked around. Around me was two meters wide circle where everything was distorted. The colours and materials were wrong. Geometry was crooked, and the bed turned into a triangle of a bluestone.
'It really is as I suspected. Nether element have the power to chaotically corrupt and crook reality. Its manifestation of instability and change. In that case, Aether should be its opposite, the manifestation of stability and longevity. Nether can change stuff, but Aether can preserve and reinforce stuff. '
I stood up and walked toward the mirror, and looked at my reflection. My horns grew a little bit longer as they started a crook a little bit, gaining reddish lustre at their tips. Magical energy kept moving towards them at a greater speed than ever before. The second pair of wings appeared on my back. They were similar to the Bifron's wings with their black and red colours and their shape that looked like typical demon wings. However, there was an addition of the bright red flames surging from them and lines of gold lining their skeletal structure. They were growing right under my old wings. Particles and energy from both of them were combining, creating a chaotic storm of red, black and purple. This terrifying halo of energy created majestic background behind me. Their size was only half of the black wings, only one meter to each side.
'Hmm, level of [Primordial Magic] increased again, but there is no change except for a little bit of the bonus damage to my spells.' my eyes widened in a surprise as I spotted a bonus I wasn't expecting, 'My pyromancy changed into a different variant.'
I tried to cast a fireball, and a small red, chaotically flickering fireball spawned in my hand. The air around it kept distorting, changing its colour throughout the whole spectrum.
I waved my hand, dispelling the fireball. Then I decided to check the few skills that levelled up.
Skill Description
[??? Material Body III]
Description: Physical body hosting ??? is being heavily enhanced by the presence of ??? in comparison to its normal capabilities. As the soul of the ??? keeps growing, its body is slowly changing from a living being into a vessel powered by energy from the soul.
Agility and strength stats are being increased by 35%
Needs to eat and drink are nonexistent
Need to breathe is removed
Unlimited physical stamina
'Ohh, that explains how I was able to hold my breath for such a long time in the bath. That effect probably appeared when it reached level two... But that is still nothing when compared to that last effect. Does it mean that I can run at full speed without getting tired?' Its benefits made me happy, but at the same time, I felt fear at the thought of my body slowly changing into something that would have no desires or needs.
After that, I checked the rest of the changes to my skills. It was a bit of a letdown as there were no changes except for growth in numbers.
'Next is to check up if there is anything useful in the CE shop.'

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.

The Intelligent Ogre (Dropped for remake)
This novel is having a remake I will have it up soon. I decided to have a remake because when I read my story again it felt like I tried too hard to make it understandable (low English level) for all yet it just looked bad. So, I decided to start over and add a new beginning, characters descriptions, etc. Even the plot and system I made was changed. I hope to see you there.
