'I can't get complacent, I defeated a few slightly above average enemies, but there are probably many real powerhouses and elites in this world. The only really strong enemy I fought against was that angel in the cathedral, and even though its power was limited after it descended, I still couldn't defeat it.
'But that was immortal being... Still even that old mage Aliford. The aura he is giving is strong that I am sure that he is well above level fifty, and his talents are also high class. I can see no hope for current me to defeat him together with his massive accumulation of spells and knowledge over his life.
'Yes, I need to be careful. The current situation is good. Together with the neutral status of this city, there is no one powerful that really wants to kill me... well, maybe except for some guys from my church, but the political situation binds them. I should keep it that way and going all around, poking a hornet nest.'
I clenched my fist in determination before I looked around the city. Smoke was coming from a few places in the city, and the streets were devoid of life.
"Bang!" lighting store towards one of the smoking places.
With a flap of my wings, I flew towards that spot. Soon I spotted a one-story tall building in the poorer part of the city. Its roof was burning in flames, and bright flashes of light flashed down on the street where two groups were fighting.
Plenty of bodies was lying all over the street, but luckily, only a few wore black robes worn by darks. Darks were clearly winning, as with each of their dark spells. One of the lower level enemies fell dead to the ground.
A few small sun-like orbs formed in front of me, and I launched them towards the enemies' lines.

One of the enemies looked up towards the sky, and then it hit him, creating a small but bright explosion. Few similar explosions appeared all over the enemies' formation.
'What the hell? Why do I feel like they are stronger than a church and previous city lord combined? Their lines would be already in chaos after this attack. How did they amass such force in such a short time? Maybe they were already in the city in that time preparing to take it over from a previous city lord, but we have done it first.'
Enemies with the ranged capabilities retaliated, and a bunch of the arrows and spells flew towards me. More than a dozen projectiles flew towards me, so I retracted my wings and fell to the ground, letting all of the projectiles harmlessly flew above me.
Darks used that moment and intensified their offence. Tall, dark, holding a black scythe burning in the ethereal green flames, jumped over the enemy's line of defenders and landed in front of the distracted ranged enemies. There he swung his scythe, reaping through the three enemies.
Scythe kept cutting through the enemies until it hit a mage, and his barrier blocked impact. Then an enemy holding a spear that was fighting in the front line turned backwards and stabbed his spear towards a scythe dark. His spears stabbed him from the back and came out on the front. Blood spurted out, and dark fell towards the ground.
Similar fights were happening all over the place.
At that scene, my eyes glowed in a fury, 'I can't be sure about their loyalty, but they are my servants for now, and it is unacceptable for anyone to kill them.'
The fight was so dense that I couldn't use my most destructive spells without causing a friendly fire. Also, my reserves of mana were running low. My horns were helping with that as mana in the air grew into a high concentration after a dungeon spread all over the city.
So I started to convert a large portion of my remaining mana into the plasma that I let concentrate around me. Plasma kept brightly glowing as it swirled around me like a storm.
Enemies probably could feel a movement of my mana and see a glow of plasma, but they didn't do anything as they were in a violent melee with darks. Enchanted weapons covered in glowing energies kept banging against each other, releasing small energy waves all over the battlefield.

Plasma around me already formed a sphere the size of a car.
Without saying a word, I cast [Penetrating Scan] and obtained a detailed image of enemies even though I couldn't see them directly as I was on the ground covered behind a wall of humans fitting each other.
Sphere of plasma split into multiple cords that moved towards enemies, flying over the line of fighting darks. I combined an image from the scene with my [??? Astral Eyes] and accurately obtained the position of weaker enemies without any barrier.
My plasma kept moving and directly piercing towards enemies. Tendrils kept reaching towards enemies and burning their bodies.
"Ahhh!" a man covered in ugly scars cried as cord plasma covered his head, burning his brain.
The tendril of plasma kept moving through the enemy's formation like a net made out of the plasma. That gave the push that darks needed, and they used it, increasing their pressure and attacking with all of their power, without saving mana. Bigger spells started to fly towards an enemy's formation.
Five darks formed a circle while holding their hands. A red glowing magical circle appeared under them and started to rotate—a few seconds later, red lighting stroke from the sky into the middle of the enemy's formation. Tendrils of lightning spread through the ground, reaching even the dark's formation, but they remained untouched.
'Hmm? How is it not hurting darks? I must investigate it later.'
Sword covered in purple glowing runes pierced a young man's throat, he coughed up, and blood came out of his mouth before necrosis spread from his neck, speeding up his demise. The final enemy died.
"Victory!" a few darks shouted, but most remained emotionless.
"Bang!" building exploded in a massive ball of flames, sending debris all over the streets.
Debris reached darks, but it harmlessly bounced off from their barriers.
I started to laugh, bringing the attention of all survivors on the street to me, "Haha, a real self-destruction of a secret base! That is amazing!".
I quickly released control of my plasma, and it fell towards the ground, where it dissipated after melting circles from the street.
Then an announcement from the system came, 'Phh such a measly gain of 800XP and some CE. But I guess it is appropriate as I mostly killed some weakling to disturb enemies line.'
'My mana is rather low. I should stop attacking for now. One can never be sure when some dangerous unexpected situation will occur...' I looked at the darks down on the streets with suspicion. '...and betrayal is the most dangerous of them.'
Then I flapped my wings and flew back to the castle. With my enchanted senses, I could still smell the disgusting stench of sewers coming from my body, 'Wow, now when I think about it, I haven't bathed for a very long time... I totally forget about it.'
I phased through the windows into my bedroom. There was a weak aura that was most likely belonging to a normal civil servant nearby, not far from my room. So I opened a door and walked through the corridor until I spotted a young-looking maid, probably only around sixteen years old. She was relatively short with long brunet hair.
"Hey, you there! Prepare a bath for me and show me where is a bathroom or whatever."
She jumped a little before turning in my direction. After she spotted me, she immediately paled and bowed, "Of course, my Lady... Your private bath is always ready. You just..." She cut herself in the middle of the sentence and paled even more as she probably wanted to say something that could be considered rude.
She signalled for me to follow and started to walk in some direction, and I followed her, 'I feel kinda stupid, for me returning to castle to bath... While others are still fighting... Nah, I already did more than enough. I need to preserve some mana for an emergency and also for what are subordinates if I am doing all of the work. Now is time to take a break.'
