I swiftly stood up and looked into the mirror over the table. My figure had some changes. My horns grew longer and started to emit black smoke. Also, my irises became purple. But the most noticeable difference was a pair of massive black wings on my back. They had a wingspan of at least two meters to each side. Their shape and structure were similar to that of the bat, with a membrane made out of black smoke filled with occasional purple sparks. That membrane was supported by golden energy like bone structure. In combination with the armour I was wearing, they looked exquisite.
'How is it possible that I didn't even feel them when I was lying on the bed. They are massive. They should be in my way. Is it possible that they are immaterial?' I tried to touch a wall with one of them to test my theory. It was as easy to move them as any of my other limbs. They touched the wall but didn't cause any physical contact as the mysterious energy that wings were made out of changed a shape like water around a stone. I knew that I would probably gain answers to all of my questions in the skill description, so I opened it.

'This explains why was that angel using its wings as a shield. Anyway, I want to test them out.'
I tried one more thing, focusing on them in the same way I did with my horns, and it worked. They vanished in a whirl of black smoke filled with purple sparkles. Maybe it would be wiser to check a new tier in a shop, but my urge to try flying was stronger. I walked out of the room. My destination was a second floor with lots of empty space where I could try my wings. Bifrons was still doing his science stuff, I ignored him, and he ignored me. We were a perfect team.
It didn't take long, and I reached a wast emptiness of the second floor. My mood to test a flying dropped when I realized how dirty was the air on that floor. Clouds made out of volcanic ash were mixing with thick smoke rising from the ground.
'Let's just wait three days... Then I will fly. It's not that long, and I really want to enjoy it for the first time.'
I had three days of free time, so I decided to finally finish my new fusion of elements. 'Last time when I tried to fuse plasma and light element something was missing, preventing them from fusing. How should I find out what?... Maybe trying to fuse a random element until I find something that works? Nah, too ineffective... Wait a second. Maybe I can just ask Bifrons. He is old demon noble he should know.'
Contrary to my belief, "Do I look like someone with a light affinity to you? I have no idea about fusions of light element. ", he waved his hand, and some old-looking book appeared in his arms, "Here take it its books about elemental fusions, it will answer all of yours questions about fusing elements in general. At least you will have something to do so you will not bother me.", then he tossed it to me.
"I thought you were supposed to be a demon of knowledge?"
"I am, but why should I have a knowledge that is useless to me?"

"What if someone summons you and asks you for such knowledge?"
"I guarantee you that 99% of people that are summoning demons don't really use a light attribute. And for rest, I always have some books."
I didn't ask anything more and returned to my room, where I sat on the sofa. I looked at the title of a book, "Elemental fusion for Beginners". Luckily it wasn't very thick.
After twenty minutes of flipping through the pages, I finally found out that most of it was filled with useless gibberish talking about some philosophical question on elements. It took me another hour till I found a passage that spoke about my problem.
To create synergy between elements with power potent enough to fuse two elements of higher tiers, one needs to use an element they have in common in their sub-elemental composition as a connecting medium to create a link between them.
'After I remove all of that complex gibberish, it basically means that to fuse higher elements such as plasma, I need to fuse Plasma with an element that contains either fire or lightning attribute... Why did he toss me this book when he could simply give me this answer... Sometimes it looks like he tries to annoy me for no reason.'
So I sat down and closed my eyes, focusing on my task. I knew that I couldn't simply fuse light and plasma elements together. I needed to create an element made out of light and fire or lightning.
'Plasma is unstable as it is, and so is lightning. It would be a bad combination as their instability will grow even more. So let's try a fire plus light.'
In my mind line forming waves intervening thought the eleven dimensions appeared. It was shining in brilliant white light. It was a light element. Right next to it was a similar line. There was only a small difference in its shape, but that small difference changed everything as this line looked like it was made of pure fire. My brain started to work in overload as I pushed both lines together. They intervened, and I pushed with my will. They were fighting me, so I pushed even harder. Suddenly their resistance vanished, and change happened as both waves started to react in a violent reaction. In the end, only one remained. It had a shape different but at the same time similar to its predecessors. It was shining in a light that looked and felt like warm sunlight during a summer noon.
'Do I have to create a dummy spell for a system to show the name of this element?'.
Luckily I didn't have to.

I probably had a goofy smile on my face as I succeeded in the first step. Suppressing my emotions, I refocused back on my task. Next to my new element appeared a second line. This one was forming wild waves like a sea during a storm. It was made out of pure white plasma. They were wildly pulsing as they both resonated with each other. Two lines started to move closer to each other as I pushed them with my mind. Resistance grew with each millimetre they closed on. Drops of sweat formed on my forehead, and my face turned into an ugly expression under a mental strain. Finally, I hit the limit of my strength. I tried to push, but they refused to move anymore. A moment later, both of them blazed into flames and thin strings of fire formed between both lines pulling them together. I gave them my last push, and they fused with a loud bang accompanied by an explosion of energy. A new line glowing extremely brightly in a yellow light appeared. Flares of pure energy were erupting like volcanoes from the line.

My consciousness returned to the real world. I had no idea how much time had passed, but my instincts were telling me that it was at least a couple of hours. A terrible headache was attacking me, giving me the urge to hit my head against the wall. My mind was so tired that I couldn't even think about a new element I had learned. With my last strength, I walked towards a bed where I fell on the bed and slowly fell asleep.
