《Reborn: Last Chance to Ascend》1. First Day of new Life (Rewritten)

The next moment I was standing in the middle of the forest. Tall old looking oaks were everywhere. Their canopies were so thick that the sky was entirely hidden.
'Whose voice was it? Did it call me its daughter? Hmm, anyway, It gave me a new chance, and I will use it. I will never make the same mistakes as in my past life. I will trust no one. I will never again be forced to do anything against my will by these weaker of me. No one will exploit me. I will be exploiting this time. They weren't admiring me as a hero, so they will admire me as almighty ruler.'
Suddenly, some kind of board showed up in front of my eyes.

'Why is it like some game? How HP even makes sense?'
Loud "Grrrr!" interrupted my system inspection.
I looked around. Pair of yellow orbs glowed from a nearby bush.
'So you wanted to sneak on me? Too bad that you growled like a fool.'
I stretched my palm forward, and a massive sphere of purple flames formed in it, conjured through knowledge from my past life.
Ding! System notification showed up.

I threw it towards a bush. A massive black wolf jumped out of the bush, avoiding my spell. It had a beautiful black fur that shined in the glow of my spell. Its body was muscular, with a length of three meters, long threatening claws made from shadows and a terrifying mouth full of sharp canines.
Fireball flew by its side, hitting the bush, setting it into purple flames.
Wolf jumped towards me, skipping a few meters with one jump, swinging its claws towards me. I jumped to the side. It was so too fast, its massive claws reached my arm, tearing through my skin and muscles. Blood leaked out of my wounds, dirtying my clothes.
Wolf continued at its trajectory as it flew by me unable to stop due to its great speed.
Another flaming sphere formed in my hand, and I threw it towards a wolf turning for another charge.
Fireball flew towards a wolf and hit it to its side. Purple flames erupted, engulfing the whole wolf. They quickly spread, burning wolf in a few moments.

"Shit, I should be more careful about ambushes," I muttered before looking at my injured arm.
Muscles were regrowing right under my eyes, 'Shit, my body will heal. However, my clothes will remain damaged, and I am in the middle of the forest. Should I search for civilization? No, I need to get stronger before that. This forest will be good for that. Giving me an environment to grow stronger without being hindered by human society and its absurd laws... What was even that new spell thing.'
System detecting my intent to learn about spells gave me the answer.

'So my [Death Flame Fireball I] was added because I knew how to use it from my previous life where I learned it.' I wanted to experiment more with a system but I felt that a search for shelter was more urgent.
So I choose and random direction and started to walk forwards at a brisk pace. I walked fast as the ground was firm, giving me a steady footing. Trees were also throwing their shadows preventing thick vegetation from growing up under them. Air was clear and full of oxygen giving my muscles all fuel they needed.
I was already walking for thirty minutes when I heard loud steps from my side.
I immediately stopped and turned my head.
A massive wild pig was running towards me, with massive tusks covered in flames. Its size was approaching that of a grisly bear, and from its enormous nostrils was coming out smoke mixed with flames. Its meter-long tail was also burning with bright orange flames. It looked at me with eyes full of contempt.
'This one looks stronger than that wolf. At least more XP for me.'
It rushed towards me with thundering sounds and its massive tusks aimed at my belly. I quickly threw [Death Flame Fireball]. A purple ball of flames flew towards a heavy and slow hog.
Hog ignored my attack and tanked it head-on with its massive body and fire affinity.
Flames from the spell spread over its head temporary obscuring its view. I used it and rolled to the side, avoiding its charge.
Flames subsided revealing a pig without any burns only with patches of rotten meat.
'So fire does not work well on this monster. However, the death element seems to work. So it is time to try my favourite spell from my past life.' I thought while charging my spell.

Purple sparks gathered around my hands before forming into tendrils of purple-coloured lightning that coiled around my hands like snakes. I released charged up energy.
Arc of purple lighting flew towards a hog. Hog opened its mouth and released a fire breath to counter my spell. Both of them met with my lighting quickly passing through its breath. Purple lighting then hit a hog. Its skeleton showed up like under x-ray.

'That [Dark Wolf] was much more problematic with its high agility.'
I looked at the slowly increasing darkness around me, I couldn't see a sky through the thick canopies, 'Anyway, it is getting darker and colder. I guess it will be night soon. I should hurry and find someplace to survive a night.'
I started to walk again in search of shelter. As night was closing upon me a howling of wolves came from a distance.
An hour passed, and the only noteworthy thing that happened was another fight against Lv 11 [Blazing Hog]. This time it was easier due to its usage of the same strategy consisting of direct charges and me using [Death Lightning] right from the beginning. I killed the monster without any problems and gained a new level.
And another hour passed, and the surrounding landscape turned rockier. Darkness and shadows already covered my surroundings as I jogged towards an unknown destination.
"Awooo!" another wolf flow came for behind me. It was getting louder and closer every time, giving me chills on my back every time I heard it.
Luckily I spotted a cave on the base of a rocky mountain.
'I bet there would be some monster inside, and if it is consistent with the theme of this forest, it would be some kind of elemental animal monster. '
I walked through the cave entrance and was welcomed with a thick animal stench. Then two massive yellow eyes glowed inside like light bulbs. I turned my hand into a torch using the utility spell [Torch Hand].
Orange flickering light lightened the whole cave entrance, uncovering a massive bear the size of a grizzly bear. In place of fur, it had a layer of rock with spikes.
'Should I retreat? No, wolves are closing on me from behind, and I need some safe place to rest. So no retreat for me. I guess lightning against rock would be ineffective, so I will rather use [Death Flame Fireball].'
I cast it and threw it towards a bear. Stone spikes rose from the ground, blocking my attack. The fireball hit rock spikes, harmlessly engulfing them in flames.
Then I felt the movement of magical energy under my feet, so I quickly backflipped. Stone spikes rose up in a place I was a few moments ago.
Meanwhile, the bear rushed towards me, breaking through its stone spikes without any effort.
'There is no place for maneuvering. I need to get it out of the cave.'
I ran out of the cave with haste. This bear was stupid enough not to block my escape route with more stone spikes as it instead growled, taunting its prey for running away before following.
I prepared another two [Death Flame Fireball] outside the cave, one in each of my hands, before throwing them into the cave entrance. Bear's eyes widen as it probably expected me to be running, as both fireballs hit a bear directly to its bulky chest. Purple flames engulfed the stone monstrosity, dealing damage by cooking and rotting flesh under its stone armour.
It jumped towards me with surprising speed, fueled by its rage. Its clawed paw was swinging towards my left arm. I moved to the side, avoiding the clawed part of the bear's arms. Nevertheless, the rest of the bear's arm still hit me.
"Kacha!" ugly cracking noise echoed through the forest as a few of the bones in my arm broke, and I flew a few meters backwards where I hit a tree with my chest.

"Arghh", I grunted as my face twisted in pain, but I was used to pain due to years of experiments on me.
I noticed one thing. 'It stopped using its rock abilities. Maybe it ran out of MP, or maybe it is blinded by anger. I still have a chance.'
I quickly got up as a bear, assured of its victory, started to approach me with a gaping mouth showing its massive canines and streams of saliva. Its eyes were shining with a sadistic look of victory.
I raised my healthy arm, and [Death Flame Fireball] formed in my palm, and I shot it right into its gaping mouth.
Bear swallowed a fireball and closed its mouth with a panicky look in its eyes. A searing sound accompanied by the smell of cooked meat came from a bear.
"Arhhh!" it let out a painful shriek before thrashing itself towards the ground, giving me a chance to send another [Death Flame Fireball] to it.
Flames engulfed the bear from the outside.
"Arghhhh!" It screamed one last time before its topped thrashing.

I managed to ignore my pain and slowly walked into a cave. It was pretty shallow without any more monsters hiding inside. I closed the entrance with massive boulders I moved with [Telekinesis]. Then I laid down on the hard ground and quickly fell asleep, regenerating my bones.

Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
