Five level 999 Dark Armed Lava Salamanders.
Battle begins!
I crouched down, bending my muscular legs to prepare for a dash attack.
"[Feet of lighting]! Activate!”
Breow!
I kicked the ground and launched myself at the salamanders! Faster than a lightning bolt!
“Ka!”
Impact!
Boom!
The surrounding air exploded when my fist collided with the enemy’s shields, sending dirt flying everywhere.
“Raaaarrrr!!!!” roared the monsters.
Despite being knocked back quite a distance, they were still standing strong!
“Very good! You placed all five diamond shields together to block my dash of doom!”
My fist went right through the first shield, but was stopped by the second.
But how about this?
Second attack!
“[Exploding punch]!”
BOOM!
With a punch heavier than God’s hammer, I shattered all the shields into tiny pieces, sending the monsters flying at five different directions!
“Blargh! … H-how?”
The salamanders vomited blood. Their eyes shot open, bewildered.
“Kaka! Shield no more! Now taste my blade!”
The enemies were still in a state of shock, so I immediately took the opportunity and closed the distant.
Woosh!
My target: The leader!
Schweng!
I instantly drew out my katana and slashed with an awesome quick draw technique.
Aimed for the head!
“You’re already dead!
“Ha!!!”
I drew a shining arc with my blade while closing my eyes for bad-ass effect.
Woosh!!!
“What?
“Woosh?
“That’s not the sound of head slicing!”
I opened my eyes and...
My katana sliced no head!
Only air!
“What? How?”
I then looked at the monster.
“No way!”
The Salamander leader retracted his head into his obsidian armor! Just like a turtle!
What was that?
How could a mere salamander be this flexible?
Damn it! Now I’m all open!
The other four monsters saw that and wasted no time launching at me!

Their giant swords were all on FIRE!
Blazing hot!
Shit! With that previous attack, I’m now in a bad position!
I guess… I have no choice but to use it.
The death spinning technique!
With the katana touched the ground, I flicked it to flip myself over, upside down.
Then!
Schweng! Schweng! Schweng!
Standing on my two long ears, I drew out the other three katanas!
Here they come!
Cleng cleng cleng cleng!
I spinned round and round very fast like a tornado. With all four limbs holding swords, I skillfully blocked the attacks and retaliated!
“Kaka! Easy!”
With amazing swordsmanship, I quickly gained the upper hand.
And then came the inevitable!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Four clean slashes sent four salamander heads flying.
Blood spurt out of the decapitated necks like fountains.
“W-what’s going on here?”
That scene happened too fast. The Salamander leader couldn’t do anything but watch.
“Nooooooooooooooo!!!” he screamed!
I then re-sheathed all the katanas at the same time like a bad-ass. Schwiiiing!
“Now, Salamander leader Salam, it’s only you and me!”
“You! I’m going to kill you!!!” screamed the salamander in anger.
And then, we launched ourselves at each other!
“Finishing move!”
“[Salamander fire]!!!”
“Oraaaaaaaaa! [Buddha feet smash]!”
BOOM!
.
.
.
.
.
Sorry friend, there was no salamander or epic battle, it was just me imagining bullshits in my head while walking towards the dungeon. The road was long and traveling alone was so lonely, so I decided to play with myself a little bit.
However, that Buddha feet Smash, or actually, a kick aiming at a random rock… missed!
And that rock happened to be right at the edge of a cliff…
Soooooo….
“Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch!”
I fell down the cliff, rolled and rolled and hit many random obstacles along the way.
Rocks, trees, sticks, boulders… ouch... painful!
My HP decreased in half.
I saw stars.
Then, after a whole five minutes in a dizzy state, I got up. My body hurt all over.
“Urrghhh… My head…my arm… my tail...”
Lucky for me, they were all intact. No bone was broken, except for my one big front tooth,
I picked the tooth up and sighed.
"I'm okay, but now, there's a problem"
I just fell down a cliff, so I had no idea where I was.
And I couldn’t use my map if I didn’t know my own location.
So, I walked at a random direction.
Just walked straight, until I saw a very weird scene.
“Aaaaaaaaa” The lion opened his mouth.
And closed it.
“Aaaaaaa….” opened…
Then closed it.
“Aaaaaaa….” and opened... again!
What?
What was the lion doing?
The lion... he was sitting under a tree, and in front of him, there was a big pile of grass that he gathered nearby.
He then leaned forward, towards the grass…
And one more time…
“Aaaaaa…”
Chomp!
He ate it!
Oh no!
I got nervous and pulled my ears.
Nom nom nom…
He chewed!
And….
Anddddd…
“Urrghhhhhhh!!! Bleeeeehhh! Bleehhhh! Bleeeeeeeeeehhh!!!”
The lion’s face turned green and he fell onto the ground! Convulsed!
"Frienddd!
"What the fuck are you doing?
"Why are you eating poison?
"Friend!"
I screamed internally.
But, the lion was crazy! He then got up, crawled towards the pile of grass again ... and grabbed a bunch!
Then he opened his mouth very wide.
Oh no!
A bunch of grass, on the lion’s hand, was very many grass!!!
No!
“Aaaaaa... “
The lion was going to swallow it all!
"No! Friend, noooo!!!"
Couldn’t watch it anymore, I decided to intercept!
I ran off my hiding place and dashed towards the stupid lion.
“Can I make it? Shit! He is sticking his tongue out! Shit! The tongue now warped all around the grass!!!”
And the grass entered the lion mouth.
“Kuk!”
The lion's throat made a terrible sound.
But he still refused to vomit it out!
“Shit! Faster! Quick feet activate!!!”
I sped up!
I have to save this friend!
Come on!
“Kuk! Kuk!” the throat was shaking!
It refused to take the grass!
Don’t worry, throat! I’m here!
“Friend!!! Don’t commit suicide! Think about mother!” I shouted, trying to grab the lion’s attention.
And he noticed me!
But even so, that bastard didn’t stop chewing!
That left me no choice!
“Hup!” I jumped.
The lion was still chewing nom nom.
But not anymore!
I made some spinning action midair and…
“Ut the uck?”
“Buddha feet SMAAAAAAASHHHH!”
BAM!
Foot slap right in the face!
Pwuahhh!!!
In slow motion, the lion’s face made waves like ocean upon impact.
Grass and saliva flew all over the place.
It was lucky that my Assassinate skill didn’t activate.
However, the slap was still very strong, so the lion was knocked down unconscious.

An Unwilling Monster
In the city of Kholakel, the highlight of the year for the upper classes is the annual monster pacification of the misty woods. Ostensibly it's a culling of the monster population to prevent them encroaching on urban areas, but it's an open secret that it's actually treated as more of a blood sport, the participants competing to score the most kills. After all, why else would the politicians and elites of the city bother to attend personally? Given the intense competition and high-tech weapons and gear in use, one might wonder how the forest has not yet been completely depopulated. As this year's culling approaches, a group of unfortunate children are about to discover the answer first-hand, but thanks to an unexpected twist of fate, one of them will score the chance to play the role of the hunter instead of the prey. This was an attempt at writing something darker than my usual fare. The story I actually ended up with isn't as mean to the MC as I'd originally planned out, to the point that I'm not sure the story deserves the horror/grimdark tags anymore, but this is still an unfair world with unambiguously evil antagonists. Chapters are short to start with, but get longer once the first act is over.
