《Yandere Survival Guide (What Not To Do)》Chapter 7 - Break up with a Yandere

Naosuke Ishimoto
A week had passed since I visited my little sister in the hospital after school that day.
Since then, Saiki had been acting relatively normal around me, showing none of the crazy antics from during the first few days I confessed to her.
Maybe she really was just a normal girl. That was what I had thought until today.
"Hey Naosuke, can you come with me after school today?"
Saiki stood in front of me near the vending machines where I had been buying a can of coke. I've been relying on the caffeine lately to keep me awake during class. A habit that I should probably try to kick soon.
"Sure, what is it?" I asked, taking a sip of my coke.
Saiki smiled at me, her hands held behind her back, "Se-cret!" She said, then she ran off down the school corridor, disappearing from view.
Sure, at this point I still thought Saiki was a pretty weird girl, but at least, I didn't get any of the psycho yandere vibes I was getting from her from before.
Wondering what Saiki wanted for me to do with her after school, I headed back out of the school building to the school grounds where I had been eating lunch with Kouchi.
~x~
The school bell rang, announcing the end of school and I packed my things, joining the flock of students leaving the classroom.
There were still too many people around for me to talk to Saiki. I will just head out to the front of the school gates and wait for her there.
"Yo Naosuke!" Koichi followed besides me, "Wait up, dude, you got somewhere to go?"
"Yeah, I promised to meet with Saiki after school today," I replied, "Not sure what she wants to do though."
"Ah hahaha! So you're going on another date with Kawano-san after school, lover boy!" Koichi said.
"Shh...!" I said, glancing around the crowd but everyone was busy chattering as they left the school building, "Not too loud, man."
"Sorry," Koichi laughed, trying to keep his voice down, "I keep forgeting that you guys are trying to keep the whole thing a secret at school. To be honest, dude, if I were you, I'd be telling anybody with an ear who would listen! Seriously, I still don't think you know what a great girl Kawano-san is."
"Yeah, I know, but that's not the point..." I sighed, "Anyways, why do you still call her Kawano-san? You should just call her Saiki since you've spoken to her a few times already."
"See, that's what I mean when I said you don't know what a great girl Kawano-san is," Koichi said, "That girl's not just some random chick at school, Naosuke. She's the Kawano-san. The elegant beauty with perfect manners and top grades that any guy in this school would die to take home to their parents."
"Yeah, alright, I got you..." I sighed again, listening to Koichi's lecture.
We walked out of the school building, then stood at the school gates, watching students go by.
"Sometimes I get the feeling that you're treating Kawano-san like a character in those mangas we read," Koichi said, "I mean, sure, manga's awesome and all, but real life's not a manga, Naosuke. You can't go treating your 3d girlfriend like a manga character."
"You're one to talk," I replied, side-eyeing him, "Who's the guy that was just telling me last week all about the h--"
"Th, that's enough...!" Koichi laughed sheepishly, stopping me from finishing my sentence, "Anyways, I think you get the point of what I'm trying to say now. I've seen the way you treat Kawano-san at school, and all I'm just saying is that you should try to treat her a little better, Naosuke."

"Tch..."
Easy for him to say. He wasn't the one that had to wrench a kitchen knife from a yandere to save his best friend from certain death.
Koichi placed a hand on my shoulder, smiling, "I just don't want to see my best bud lose such a great girl." He said, "Especially not when he's still a virgin."
"Y, you...!"
"Anyways, Ima head off now!" Koichi quickly strolled past me, "Laters, dude!"
I stared at his back, watching as he disappeared into the crowds of students heading for the train station.
Then I sighed, glancing around the school grounds as I waited for Saiki.
Even though half of what Koichi had been saying was ruined by his dumb jokes, he did kind of have a point there...
I knew I had not been treating Saiki the best, especially since most of the time I just saw her as some crazy yandere chick, but her feelings for me seemed genuine.
I should probably stop treating her like a psychopath, and take her feelings more seriously...
"Heey~!"
I jumped, hearing someone's voice behind me, and turned around to see Saiki standing there, smiling at me her bag held behind her.
"Sorry for making you wait..." Saiki laughed weakly, rubbing her head, "Ehara-sensei held me back to help him with some class admin tasks..."
"That's alright," I said, then I glanced around seeing a few students still around the school gates, "Uh, maybe we shouldn't talk here."
"It's fine!" Saiki said, "There's only a just a few students around, no one will notice."
"I guess so..."
"Anyways," Saiki smiled at me, beaming like an angel, "Let's go!"
~x~
Standing outside the hospital building in Asagaya, I glanced slowly to my side at Saiki, seeing her beam back at me.
"Let's head in!" She said excitedly.
"Um, Saiki, why did you take me to a hospital...?" I asked.
Especially the one where my little sister was at.
I could already tell that this was probably not a coincidence.
"Your little sister is in there, right," Saiki said, "Let's go say hi to her together!"
I didn't even ask how she knows that I had a little sister, or even how she knew that my little sister was in this specific hospital. It was obvious how she knew all these things.
Before I could stop Saiki, she strolled into the hospital building, and I followed her to the front desk, trying to stop her.
"H, hey, Saiki...!" I said.
The receptionist at the front desk of the hospital glanced at Saiki as she approached, then smiled, "Ah, Saiki-chan! You're back!"
"Yep, and this time I'm with Naosuke too!" Saiki replied to the nurse, indicating behind her at me.
The receptionist glanced at me and laughed, not noticing the horrified look on my face, "There you are, Ishimoto-san! I did not know you had such a pretty and well-mannered girlfriend! It was such a surprise!"
"W, what do you mean?" I asked the receptionist.
"Why, your sweet girlfriend has been coming in on the days you didn't come this week to keep your little sister company!" The receptionist replied, "Isn't she such a lovely girl?"
I kept my mouth shut, not really knowing how to react to all this other than to be terrified.
"Room number 415." The receptionist said, "Although, you're probably more than familiar by now, Saiki-chan."
"Thank you very much," Saiki bowed to the receptionist, then Saiki and I walked off, going up the elevators.

I was silent the whole time until the elevator stopped at our floor.
I had been completely wrong about Saiki this whole time. This girl was actually god damn insane.
She must had followed me to know about my little sister, perhaps even tapped my phone to figure out my personal details. And to top if off, she had even managed to somehow infiltrate a hospital without raising any suspicion whatsoever.
Saiki was dangerous. And my little sister was completely vulnerable.
I couldn't allow this charade to go on any longer.
"Come on," Saiki said, stepping out of the elevator and glancing at me with a smile, "Let's go say hi to your little sister!"
"Saiki..." I said slowly, glancing up at her, "I... think we should stop seeing each other."
Saiki froze, the smile plastered on her face.
I stepped out of the elevator, walking past her.
"After this, I really don't want anything to do with you anymore." I said.
I continued walking down the corridor to the room that my sister was at, then stopped, glancing back to see that Saiki was still standing at the same place in front of the elevator.
"Saiki," I called out to her, "Just come say bye to my little sister at the very least."
She didn't move an inch, standing motionlessly in the same position.
Just as I was about to give up and walk over to check on her, Saiki turned slowly, her head kept down, and her blonde fringe casting a shadow over her eyes so that I couldn't see them.
She walked over quietly, and I sighed, "Listen, when we go in, we will just make up a story about how you have to move houses or something so that my little sister doesn't get too upset, okay?"
Saiki stood next to me, not replying.
Whatever.
If she doesn't talk, then I'll just tell my little sister myself.
When it came to my little sister, I didn't take any half-measures about keeping her safe.
Even if it meant that I had to fight a psychotic yandere, it didn't matter.
To me, my little sister's happiness meant the world.
~x~
I pushed open the door to the hospital room and glanced at my little sister lying on her bed, listening to a full home theatre sound system placed in the corner of the room, complete with subwoofer and surround sound, a movie playing on the 65 inch OLED TV on the wall.
Toys and dolls lied everywhere in the room, over her bed and on the floor, there was even the latest kindle sitting on top of the overbed table near her bed.
"Ah big bro!" My little sister, Sayuri, pressed the stop button on her remote, pausing the movie, then glanced towards my direction, "You're here!"
I stared around the room, my mouth gaping.
"Y, yeah... I don't remember the room being like this before..." I said, slowly walking up to the bed with Saiki following quietly behind me.
"They're presents from big sis, Saiki!" Sayuri said excitedly, then pouted, "Jeez, big bro, you never told me you had a girlfriend! How could you keep it from your little sister!"
I had to double take when I heard Sayuri calling Saiki big sis.
I must had heard wrong.
"That's right, I've been meaning to tell you about Saiki..." I laughed weakly, trying to play along for now.
"If you told me about big sis Saiki sooner, then I wouldn't had have to worry about you so much from the hospital!" Sayuri continued pouting, then her expression changed as she started talking about Saiki, "Big sis Saiki has been coming to visit me every day this week! She told me all about how you two are in the same class, how sweet your confession to her was, how much she super loved you and how when you two are married, I would get to be the bridesmaid at the wedding! She told me all these fun and interesting stories and even taught me how to read braille so that I can read books on my own!"
Oh god.
I didn't hear wrong.
My little sister had been completely warped by Saiki in just a week.
I pulled a chair out next to Sayuri's bed, "Listen, Sayuri, about Saiki..."
Sayuri sighed, "Big sis Saiki is really such a wonderful woman. I really admire her dedication and passion... I wish could grow up to be like her..."
Dammit.
I needed Saiki here to explain things as well.
I glanced up at Saiki who was still just standing silently, her eyes dark. I sighed, getting out of my seat to pull out another chair for Saiki, sitting her down next to me.
Sayuri stopped, "Big bro... is big sis Saiki with you?"
"Yep...!" I said, glancing at Saiki, "I thought I would bring her with me since there's actually something we want to tell you, Sayuri..."
"Oh my goddddd--!!" Sayuri jumped on her bed with a bright red blush. Then her hands scrambled on the bed to grab a comb, "You should had told me beforehand you were bringing big sis Saiki as well!! Do I look okay, big bro?! My hair's not a mess, right?!"
Sayuri combed her hair frantically, facing the other side of the bed.
"You look fine, Sayuri...!" I said, then nudged Saiki sitting next to me, "Hey Saiki, tell Sayuri she looks fine...!"
Saiki didn't respond, her head fixed downwards.
Sayuri stopped, turning over to us, "Big sis Saiki...? Is something wrong...?"
"She's just a little tired!" I told Sayuri whose face was beginning to get more worried, "Also! She's a bit sad because um, you see, her family is planning to move and--!"
Suddenly, a tear trickled down Saiki's face, her shoulders beginning to shake slightly.
"Big sis Saiki...?" Sayuri said concernedly, she reached a hand out towards where Saiki was and touched Saiki's shoulders for a second before snapping her hand back, "B, big sis Saiki...? Are you crying...?"
I opened my mouth, then closed them again.
I knew at this point there wasn't really anything I could say.
Saiki was crying quietly to herself, sitting in the chair besides me.
"B, big bro...!" Sayuri turned to me, alarmed, "What did you do to big sis Saiki...?!"
"I... I..." I tried to say something.
"N, Naosuke said he doesn't want to be with me anymore...!!" Saiki suddenly cried from my side, "H, he said he doesn't want to have anything to do with me...!!"
Saiki had broken down into full blown crying now, sobbing uncontrollably into her hands inside the hospital room, while Sayuri and I stared at her silently for a moment, neither of us knowing what to do.
"Big bro!" Sayuri turned to me, her face now completely angry, "How could you...! How could you do that to big sis Saiki...!!"
"Sayuri... that girl... she..."
What the hell was I going to say?
That Saiki had snuck into her hospital room and gave her a roomful of presents?
"I, it's because I introduced myself to his little sister without his permission...!" Saiki sobbed, "H, he hates me because I did that...! E, even though all I wanted to do was make him happy...!!"
Sayuri faced me with an infuriated look, "Is that true?"
"Well... yes, but..." I said.
"I, I tried so hard for Naosuke...!" Saiki cried, "I love Naosuke sooo much...! But whatever I do, Naosuke still hates me...!!"
Sayuri shuffled over from her bed, hugging onto Saiki as she cried.
"I seriously can't believe you, big bro..." Sayuri said angrily.
The absurdity of the situation was messing with my ability to think with a straight head.
Was I the only one that could see that Saiki was a psychotic yandere?
Or was I really the one in the wrong here?
I was beginning to doubt my own sanity.
I tried one last time to explain the situation.
"Listen, Sayuri, I never told her that I even had a sister and Saiki somehow knew." I said, speaking in a serious voice, "It's not something that I tell anyone..."
"What!" Sayuri said, glowering at me, "That's normal for a girlfriend to be able to find out these kinds of stuff!"
"A, and Saiki even knew the hospital you went to..." I said.
"Seriously big bro... I have a social media account that has my location public!" Sayuri said, "The nurses have been helping me with it so that I can stay in touch with my friends! It wouldn't be hard to find out!"
I stared at Sayuri speechlessly.
"If that's all you have to say, then you should get out..." Sayuri told me in a quiet voice, her face angry as she consoled the crying Saiki, "I don't want to see you right now."
It felt as though my heart had been shattered at her words.
I had to resort to the final option to recitify my relationship with my little sister.
"It..." I stuttered, then blurted the words out, bowing my head deeply, "It was just a joke, hahaha...!!"
The room froze and I felt both pair of eyes on me.
I raised my head, my face pale, "I, I didn't mean it when I said I would break up with you, Saiki...!"
Silence for a few seconds, and then Sayuri glared at me, "W, what the hell, big bro?! What kind of a sick joke is that?! Are you ser--"
"Yes...!!" Saiki leaped out of Sayuri's hold, and threw her arms around me, "I love you sooo much, Naosuke!! I knew you wouldn't leave me!! I'll never ever leave you too...!!"
Just as I had expected, Saiki had stopped crying, the tears evaporating from her eyes as though they were never there, even though wet tears from before were still on her cheeks.
Glancing at the angry look on Sayuri's face, I laughed weakly, pretending to hug Saiki back.
"Jeez, big bro..." Sayuri pouted, "It's okay as long as big sis Saiki is happy I guess... but that joke was too far!"
God damn it.
Now with my little sister dancing to her tune, it was going to be even harder to survive the yandere.

Law of Divine Gates
What is transcendence? There are those on countless planets who believe creation ended with them. The notion that they are God's chosen people, and nothing else existed beyond them became a firmly rooted ideal. An arrogant assertion you say? Well there you have it, ignorance is something mortals never have a lack of. This is not transcendence, to transcend is to explore the limits of existence, to constantly grow, and lay claim to all the universe has to offer. Transcendence is to not be constrained by ideals, or the planet of your birth, to transcend is to leave behind your Mortal shell, to challenge heaven's law, and formulate your own. Heaven would see mortals bowed in servitude until the end of their days, to reincarnate, and begin another lifetime of worship, giving praise to the gods. A young demon accidentally stepped through the gateway of endless possibilities, will he succumb to heaven's authority?

TTWN: The Tale of Will Newbie
This series is inspired by the music of TheFatRat, please take a look if you don't know who he is here. Everyone wants to live in a fantasy world, right up until they have to face dark beings beyond their comprehension. Everyone wants to be a hero, right up until every day becomes a fight for their life. Sixteen-year-old introvert Will Newbie lives in a fantasy world. He's the hero of this story. He has been left with nothing; after a brief adventure in the mountains near his home, he returns to find his entire home missing, every person mysteriously vanishing into thin air. All that's left for him is his rather, "disembodied" older sister and the quest given to him by a rat-turned-god: Gather a team of Champions, fight back against the forces of Sin, and save the world. But if he's learned anything, it's that being a hero isn't as easy as it sounded in the books. So, he'll have to keep himself together, keep his team from tearing each other apart, and figure out just how much he's willing to sacrifice for what he believes in. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! This is my first fully written story, so I want to improve. Positive or negative, I'll take it into account! I will try to update weekly every Friday, but as I'm pretty new to this kinda grind expect some irregularities. The covers are also by moi, done in Pixel Studio. Quite proud of them, really.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
