As Loki emerged from the Bifrost, Heimdall stood away from the control panel and glared at him. Loki gave him a weird look and smiled.
"What troubles you, Gatekeeper?"
"I turned my gaze upon you in Jotunheim but could neither see nor hear you. You were shrouded from me, like the Frost Giants who entered this Realm." Heimdall was watching him closely, his suspicion slowly coming true.
"Perhaps your senses have weakened after your many years of service."
"Or perhaps someone has found a way to hide that which he does not wish me to see." Gatekeeper implied. Loki just smiled.
"You have great power, Heimdall. Tell me, did Odin ever fear you?" he was joking with him.
"No."
"And why is that?" Loki asked.
"Because he is my King, and I'm sworn to obey him," answered Heimdall, still not leaving his eyes from God of mischief.
"Exactly. Just as you're sworn to obey me now. Yes? A beat."
"Yes."
"Good. Then you will open the Bifrost to no one until I have undone what my brother has started." With those words said, Loki headed out of the Observatory. Heimdall was staring at him, knowing how furious he will be when he'll find out that Neilrosa is no longer on Asgard.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neilrosa was sitting with Thor and doctor Selvig in a pub, those two have already ordered a few beers and shots of whiskey. She had just an iced lemonade, alcohol never suited her.
"Seems Darcy's a terrible inter, but a talented hacker."
"Yeah, she saved our asses there although I need to meet her first," Princess chuckled.
"Thank you for what you've done." Thor raised his cup of beer to Selvig.
"Don't thank me. I only did it for Jane." Jane? Neilrosa frowned her eyebrows and looked at Thor.
"Are you in love with her?" both Neilrosa and Selvig nearly choked on their drinks.
"Of course not! Jane's like a daughter to me. Her father and I taught at university together. A good man, but he never listened." This hit Thor hard. He knew exactly what Selvig means.
"Neither did I." Neilrosa set her cup on the bar in front of her and leaned back in her chair. Selvig looked with interest on Thor.

"You know, you don't need to beat yourself up for anything." She started, gaining the attention of both men.
"All of us have our flaws, we just need to learn from them. I can sense and now I heard you care really deeply for Jane, doctor Selvig. There's no need to worry, Thor means no harm, to anyone." Thor nodded eagerly.
"Good. If that's the case, then I'll buy you one more drink and you'll leave town tonight." Selvig turned to him.
"I had it all backwards. I had it all wrong." Thor sank. For the doctor, this was a different Thor than he saw before.
"But first, you two need to tell me how did you meet, although I can guess. Did he fall from the sky?" Neilrosa asked and sipped from her lemonade. The two men looked at each other.
"How did you-" Selvig started but she interrupted him.
"I think saying that I'm something like him is weird. I know you didn't believe him when he said he is a God of Thunder and from Asgard so I'm not sure if you would believe me. Let's start with names then. I'm Neilrosa," she extended her hand to the doctor. He took it hesitantly and shook it.
"So, how did you meet?" her purple eyes were flickering between them.
"Actually they hit me with their... how do you call it? Ah, car," Thor laughed.
"We were observing an anomaly when he appeared and we hit him. Then we brought him to the hospital, but he escaped and we hit him, again. Now he is staying with us in an abandoned dinner at the end of the city." Neilrosa was trying not to laugh, she could imagine it very clearly.
"But I'm glad he ran into you, you seem like a nice man," she smiled.
"Oh, and sorry for all the confusion, I'm Thor's childhood friend, we grow up together. I was looking for him because his father banished him and I need him to come home." Now Selvig was really confused, he didn't know if to believe what this woman in front of him is saying or not.
"For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do," Thor's head fallen.
"Anyone who's ever going to find their way in this world has to start by admitting they don't know where the hell they are." Both Thor and Neilrosa nodded. A drunk man wobbled to them.

"Hey, I know you, man..." He was one of the town citizens who saw Thor with Jane, Darcy and Selvig in the diner in the city.
"You were in the diner with that hot girl. And now I see you have another one right here." He moved to Neilrosa and put his arms around her shoulders.
"I wouldn't mind those two doing a little research on me." He tried to be sexy but failed miserably. Thor started to get annoyed and the same went for Neilrosa and Selvig.
"I have no quarrel with you. But she's a lade and one is sitting with us right now too. You should be more respectful."
"And you should shut the hell up, princess." Doctor and princess looked at Thor, worried that he would lose his temper, but he remained unaffected.
"I will not fight you."
"Then it'll be easy to kick your ass." Before any of the men could react, Neilrosa slid down from the chair, grabbed the drunk man's arm, twisted it behind his back and his body collided with the bar table.
"Try to touch me again and you won't write with this hand ever again." She growled into his ear. The man nodded quickly and she released him. He glanced at her, totally scared and ran off god knows where.
As she adjusted her jacket and hair, looked at the two men watching her with surprise, they burst into a loud laugh and ordered another round of drinks.
It was a good idea not to drink, that flashed through Neilrosa's mind when she was driving two drunk men to the abandoned diner at the end of the city as Selvig said. She learned to drive during the WW2, Peggy taught her. Thor and Selvig sit at the back, singing some Norwegian folk song and pretty badly. It was hard to get the directions from the doctor but in five minutes, Neilrosa already parked the car near the diner and tried to get men out of the car. Thor had an excellent tolerance towards alcohol, so he picked Selvig up and with one of his hands around Thor's shoulder, he helped him towards Jane's trailer.
Jane was laying down in her trailer, trying to read. A lot of boxes of pizza and various books were laying all around the trailer. Right then a loud bang brought her back to reality and she jumped to open the door to relieve a very drunk Slevig slung over Thor's shoulder and a red-headed woman behind them.
"Erik!" she exclaimed.
"Is he all right?" she asked Thor.
"He's fine. Not injured at all." The woman behind him speaker. She smiled at Jane and extended her hand to Jane.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your evening, miss...?" she stopped not sure how to call Jane.
"Jane Foster," Jane replied with a small smile.
"Miss Foster. I'm Neilrosa, Thor's childhood friend and, well that's for a long talking, but let's say I'm something like he claims to be," she chuckled nervously. Jane was a bit surprised as now she had taken in how the woman looks like. Her hair wasn't red, it was the colour of flame, falling her back and her eyes were purple, beautiful galaxy purple.
Thor meanwhile entered Jane's trailer with Selvig.
"What happened?" Jane turned her attention to them.
"We drank, we fought. he made his ancestors proud." Thor chuckled and looked at Jane, not sure where to put Selvig.
"Put him on the bed," she gestured towards one at the back of the trailer. Selvig laughed and slurred something as that he still doesn't believe Thor is a God of Thunder, Thor just laughed and patted his cheek.
"These are your chambers?" He looked around picked a sock off the floor. Jane quickly snatched it from him.
"Can we go outside?" She asked him and both of them went outside to sit by a fire in blankets. Neilrosa excused herself, she didn't want to interrupt anything as she saw some connection between those two. She stood in the shadow of the trailer, her eyes trained on both Jane and Thor. She was happy that maybe Thor finally has found someone close to him, someone, to love. A small smile found a place on her face as she looks up to the sky, knowing that Heimdall can see all of it.

Magic. Math. Not a whole lot of context. Two months ago, I was a wormhole navigator, ripping open a hole in the universe to save a ship of people who only vaguely tolerated me. Two weeks ago, long story short, I threaded an impossible path through the void between dimensions to crash-land into a dungeon. You know the kind: monsters to defeat, corridors full of traps to avoid, and magical powers to earn. I'm not ashamed to admit that it's been two weeks of loneliness, fear, adrenaline, and constant injury. But I'll make it out of here by myself if I have to, or my name isn't Adam Leviathan James. ... too bad the Levi doesn't stand for Leviathan, huh. AN: Expectations should include in medias res, violence, smut, friendship, and powers/progression systems with absolutely an insufficiency of context and (at least at first) no definitions or explanations, and magic-as-programming/engineering (with something of an emphasis on "what if magical runework were an analogue to circuit diagrams"). This story used to be called "Yet Another Godsforsaken Isekai". Discord server: https://discord.gg/dHh3XMMB4T Cover by the amazing Daedalus of The Way Ahead.

Join Jericho and others as they interact in this world where everyone has extraordinary abilities. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ HIATUS NOTE (Please read): Starting June, I will be going on a summer hiatus (around 3 months) to focus on my future career and set myself up to succeed in school. I will still be writing in the meantime and creating a backlog, but I won't be posting chapters. I apologize for this. I wish there was another way. Note: This story has multiple POVs, but the main one is Jericho. The MC grows and develops throughout the story and isn't instantly OP. I try to write ~1500 words per chapter but I write according to what I feel is suitable. (Could be more. Could be less). The content warning tags are mostly for flexible writing, but do expect it or something of the sort. This is a story suitable for older teens and adults. Schedule: New chapter every other Sunday (sometimes Monday if I'm a bit behind).
