《Jormungandr's calamity》Book 1: Chapter 23 : Zed's Tomb

So now we were standing in front of the tomb of this famous dragon. I stopped and waited for my master's instructions, for as he has had to go to this place many times he will know what we must do. I looked at him but he just nodded his head and told me that everything was fine and that we had to wait.
Me: "Master, why do we have to wait before the tomb?
Cro: We must wait for the others or the tomb will not open. "
Wait, but wait for who? Who would come to a place so lost?
Finally, the tomb is not closed there is no door and it is wide open. Since he won't tell me why we're standing here, I can only experience it myself. So I crawled to the entrance and tried to get through it when suddenly something like a protective wall formed.
Is that what he was talking about, that there was a protective wall. As I was a bit stubborn I tried again to break through, but this time I was not only pushed back but also attacked.
Attack is a big word, you could say a mental shock, in fact, I felt like we were bowling in my head. Luckily this pain was less compared to the pain I had to endure to remember the message.
But except that the pain was progressive and as I was about to faint the pain stopped. I lost control of my body and flattened on the ground.
Cro walked up to me and said, "Looks like you passed the tomb test.
Me (still lying on the ground): The tomb test? What is this test?
Cro: Very simple there are two ways to get into the tomb to wait for it to open or to pass a mental test.
Me: That's why you told me to be patient. But why do we have to wait?
Cro: Because if you don't want to pass the mental test to get into that grave you have to use a certain object.
Me: This would surely be a part of Zed's body, wouldn't it?

Cro: Yes it is a scale that was passed down to us by our ancestors but to access the tomb we must have 3 of them.
Me: So that means that when you told me to wait it was really to wait for the two other scale bearers. But why do we need to wait when I've already cleared a path?
Cro; That's where you're wrong, the tomb is only open to you for now if I try to cross it the barrier will activate. "
Suddenly we heard the wind blowing in the distance as if something dangerous had just appeared.
Cro; " Look one of them just arrived but who does he think he is to relieve the pressure, I'm going to have to show him who's in charge here and he can't behave like this in my presence. "
What does he mean by this and when I had distanced myself from my master because I felt that he was going to do something crazy. He did indeed do something like that.
He drove his claws into the ground and began to shine as if he was absorbing the light from the surroundings. With the light, he absorbed his body began to swell as if he was storing all this energy to release it all at once. Finally, he opened his mouth and a small orange glow was gathering at the back of his throat.
This glow finally came out of my master's throat in the form of a ray of light. It all went straight to a shadow I had just seen. It looked like a wolf, except this wolf had scales and not a fur.
The latter raised one of his claws and began to turn on himself to make his blow more powerful and he sliced the laser that was directed at him. Yes, he cut it off with a single scratch.
Kobo: "Still as aggressive as ever Cro.
Cro: Me? I only did it because mister was showing the power he had in my desert.
Kobo: Your desert? Since when do you own it? From now this desert is own by me and my tribe.

Cro: You wouldn't dare make such a big mistake.
Kobo: What can stop me.
Cro: Your weakness. We all know I'm more powerful than you.
Kobo: We'll see about that right away. And he rushed towards Cro.
Cro: I expected nothing else."
So their fight began, and as the two of them were fighting, I noticed that someone was coming towards me. This person was with Kobo but I didn't notice it.
Ann: "Nice to meet you, I'm Ann and sorry for all the fuss, Grandpa is always like that when he meets Cro.
Me: Is that your grandfather? Otherwise enchanted I am Bagir the disciple of Cro.
Ann: What did he accept you as a disciple?
Why was she so surprised? Cro's just. . . Cro's Cro. There's nothing special about him.
Me: There's nothing extraordinary about that.
Ann: You probably don't know it but Cro is one of the masters of the desert and to be one of them you have to be very powerful.
I suspected that Cro was powerful because he almost managed to destroy my mind just with his presence but that he was so strong.
Me: All right, but can you explain two little things to me?
Ann: With great pleasure.
Me: Can you explain to me what we are really going to do in this tomb and where the last person with the scale is.
Ann: So it's very simple as you know this place is filled with an aura that attacks your soul and our ancestors used this aura to create three trials. The first test is very simple this one is just a simple combat test where you will face the projections created by the aura. If you can defeat them, you'll go on to the second trial. But if you fail...
Me: What happens if you fail?
Ann saw my look and my frightened face and she was taken by a crazy laugh.
Me: What's so funny.
Ann: Nothing if you could see your face, it was so funny.
I'm blushing with embarrassment because I was scared to death but for nothing.
Ann: If you fail, nothing will happen you will just be expelled from the tomb and you will have to wait until all the other participants have finished their test to do the second one.
Me: What? If you fail the first test you can do the second one?
Ann: Yes this is one of the positive things about this tomb but depending on your performance you will receive rewards so it is best that you do not fail any tests.
Me: Rewards?
Ann: Yes, a part of Zed's consciousness was stuck there and couldn't pass into the other world. It even says that the final reward you can receive is Zed's Bloodline.
The second trial is just a trial that tests our mental abilities and the last and most important trial is the trial of the heart demon.
During this trial you will face your greatest fear and only by defeating it can you become stronger.
Me: Everything is clearer but what about the third scale?
Ann: Don't worry, he's coming.
Me: Who?
Ann: The holder of the last scale and she pointed at the sky. "
In the sky, you could see a shadow coming down, it was a giant eagle.
Curl: "Stop fighting, we're not here for that.
Kobo: Now he is here. Curl, it's been a long time, hasn't it?
Cro: Let's stop all this talk and open the tomb. "
The three went to the tomb and took out the scales they each had.
A cavernous voice was heard: "Only three people can take the tests."
Cro, Kobo, and Curl backed up and told us to move you forward.
Cro: "It's your little adventure this time I can't do anything for you so good luck. "
He is right, it was my story and it was up to me to write it, together with Ann and Serb (Curl's son) I ventured for the first time into this tomb.

She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom had been doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with.
