《Fallen God decides to live a little》Chapter 17: Another Perspective

Magnus here, have you ever felt the feeling of being betrayed by someone you looked up to and admired, well not me, but Ragos complained about it a lot. He said that a lot of his handpicked mortals that became heroes usually died young and those that lived long enough usually became a villain. He was pissed because of one specific mortal. He chose her to be the hero of her generation and she was absolutely perfect. She was kind, compassionate, headstrong and beautiful. In the end, she… betrayed him and became a demon lord. Ragos didn’t talk to anyone for 200 years. I don’t want to ever feel that.
*In a luxurious mansion somewhere in the capital*
A familiar face was running through the hallways as a hooded figure gives chase. Of all the people in the capital, Sir Geralt never once thought that he would encounter an assassin.
"Ha... Ha..." Geralt kept running even though he was obviously tired and exhausted. While running, he unsheathes his sword and activates a skill. Even though Geralt obtained his position as a knight through his connections, it did not mean he slacked off in training but it was still pitiful how he did not develop any more skills. In his whole life, he only practiced one skill and he finally managed to raise it from a normal skill to a rare skill, improving his power. In his desperate moments, he activates this skill to save him.
[Energy Blade]!
A powerful aura emanates from Geralt as a powerful wave of energy comes from his blade. The hooded figure immediately reacts and pulls out their hand to block the incoming energy wave. Geralt smiles as the energy wave collides with the figure's hand and explodes, damaging the hallway and producing a lot of smoke.
Laughing, he approaches the wreckage to examine the one who was about to kill him.
"You thought you could kill me!!" Geralt laughs madly, as the elation of using his skill saved him. All those years of constantly practicing didn't go to waste!
Geralt's loud laughter suddenly dies down as he sees the silhouette of the hooded figure in the smoke.
"Ho- How?" The figure slowly moves out of the smoke, revealing their form. Standing near the hopeless sir Geralt is the hooded figure. The assassin wore a dark red hood and mask that covered her whole upper body. The assassin’s body had beautiful curves that clearly indicate that she is a woman but that didn't surprise Geralt, what surprised him was the fact that the assassin did not take any damage from his skill.
Geralt unconsciously drops his sword out of fear, as he sees the hand of his assailant. It isn't a hand, it's more of a claw. Its appearance was more demon than any human hand Geralt has ever seen.
"Wha- What are you?" Before Geralt could speak anymore, the hooded figure quickly moves and decapitates sir Geralt with her claw.
Sir Geralt's eyes were staring at the wall, contemplating what to do but his death was so quick, he didn't even realize it.

The head falls to the ground and blood starts to pool on the floor as the body slumps down.
After the assassin kills Sir Geralt, she casts a spell.
[Flame Darkin]
Immediately a sudden burst of fire conjures a fire elemental. The fire elemental floats atop the ground without any legs or wings and its giant arms are tipped with sharp claws that can easily rip non-magical metal.
The assassin orders the Flame Darkin.
"Burn the mansion"
The Flame Darkin immediately sets to work and starts casting spell after spell, burning the mansion with its fiery element.
[Firebolt]
[Firebolt]
[Firebolt]
The assassin calmly walks out of the mansion while her summon continues to burn the mansion with its magic. Once out, the assassin notices the dead bodies on the floor, more of her work. She ignores them and walks until she reaches the outside of the mansion. Once out, she walks towards the stone road, ignoring the dozens of men and women screaming for help while mansion burns to the ground.
Eventually at a dark and empty alley, the assassin removes her cloak and hides it beneath a secret compartment beneath the ground. Once she removes her hood and mask, the lady appears to smile.
It's Leila Grantz, the female partner of Elizabeth.
Leila pulls out a small necklace from her clothing and wears it. Once she wears it, she activates the spell enchanted into it.
[Sending]
A telepathic connection appears in Leila's mind, connecting with another person within the capital.
"Leila, is it done?" Elizabeth's calm voice appears from the other side of the spell. I still can't properly understand magic but I guess it's easy for that talented princess.
"Yes milady, I've killed Geralt and burned his mansion. I took the liberties to raid his vault for money and finance." Thank god for that stupid stuck up knight, his vault was barely protected by any magic. I easily stole everything he had. After hefting the magical bag of holding, I felt the heaviness of all the money I stole.
"Well as long as you didn't leave any evidence, it's fine by me" She must be busy. Ever since that event in the forest, everything's been hectic. The King received both the reports of princess Elizabeth and his advisor, Lord Argentis. The appearance of many ancient beings suddenly rocked the continent and no one's been sleeping well ever since.
"Of course, I didn't. I was an assassin before I pledged to you." If this continues, I might develop a new skill.
"Return immediately and don't let anyone follow you" Elizabeth gives me another order. I reply affirmative and cancel the spell.
I quietly sneak out of the vicinity and return home.
*In the royal castle*
Inside a beautifully made study, a hardworking princess can be seen in front of a study desk constantly filing stacks of paper.
I need to finish this stack before I can rest. Sighing, I stare at the window behind me and think of Magnus.
When an unknown man suddenly appeared, Magnus immediately teleported us back to the village. Unfortunately, all the soldiers that came with us were killed in the ensuing fight and we had to wait for a while before we could go back in the capital.

*sigh*
I've been sighing more and more nowadays, everything is so hectic. Leila would scold me for not taking care of myself. I'm sure Kin would give me a sad face, if she were to see me like this.
It's been a month ever since that event and when we went back, I decided to take back Kin with me. She showed talent for a person that grew up in a village. She didn't have any teachers other than the priest and yet, she showed growing talent. She had an extremely close affinity to the light element and her mana veins have a perfect grade but most of all, she was likeable. With all of those, I decided to take her back to serve under my house as the apprentice priest, with the intent of becoming a noble priest.
At first, she didn't want to come but after convincing her of the benefits of coming with me, she eventually agreed. Ever since that event, Kin has been spending most of her time in the royal church, being taught by the priests and bishops to develop her magic. Surprisingly, she's been developing her magic exceptionally and if we found her when she was younger, she might've surpassed me.
"It must feel amazing... having no responsibilities." I sigh and stretch my hands and back. I stare at the ceiling and wonder.
Why was I created with such a heavy burden? Lord Supremas... why did you choose me?
"... Complaining about it won't solve anything!" I strengthen my resolve and start working on my papers again.
After having Lord Geralt assassinated, I disseminated the information that Lord Geralt was the one who hired Azael's hand to explore the forest and since he was caught, the organization opted to kill him. I already ordered Leila to leave evidence connected to the organization, Azael's hand. Fortunately for lord Argentis, this action will protect him and while I'm not a fan of his antics, I need him to collect more information.
I stare at one of the reports containing lord Argentis' current movements. One day, when you've outlived your usefulness, I will kill you myself.
Once I'm done dealing with the papers concerning Argentis and Kin, I start reviewing the papers concerning Magnus. After extensive combing of the woods, my men could not find Magnus. He must be hiding. I refuse to believe that he would die...
After all... He is needed for his return.
Eventually I finish my work and I stretch one last time, enjoying the bliss of an empty work desk.
"Would you like some tea?" Suddenly, I hear the familiar voice of Leila. I sit up and see her bringing tea for me. Smiling, I gladly accept her offer.
*In the royal church*
In the deeper sanctuaries of the royal church, there was a beautiful girl that was currently meditating in a room. The beautiful girl had hazel-brown colored hair, beautiful black eyes and slightly tanned skin. She was currently meditating absorbing the mana around her, giving her more power. After a few more hours of constantly absorbing mana, she eventually stops and opens her eyes. This girl was Kin.
"Whoo!" That was one hell of a meditation!
I immediately stood up and started stretching. After all, I can't let my health deteriorate just because I'm focusing on my magic.
Chuckling, I give a prayer to my kind and compassionate goddess, Felina. After my prayer, I leave the room and go towards the dining room. I haven't properly eaten.
While walking down the hallway, my thoughts wander to Magnus. It's been a month ever since that event and while I don't think he's dead, it's worrying.
Eventually, I reach the dining room and ask one of the head servants to serve me some food.
It still feels weird though... In my whole life, I've never had anyone serve me, so when Princess Elizabeth told me that the church will fulfill my desires, I was a little dumbfounded. The servants panic when I try to serve my own food and I heard that they might get punished, so I learned to let them serve me, even though I am still not used to it.
Once my food was set, I started to chow down.
"Ahhh.... this is the life!" I have to admit, while I dislike being served, the food in the capital is a thousand times better than the food in the village. I'm starting to eat too much. I pinch my stomach to see if I've gotten weight.
It seems I did....
I need to fast! I finish the last bits of the food, after all it's a sin to waste food, and promise to fast the following days.
I leave the dining room once I return the plate to the kitchen, which caused some panic from the servants.
Sorry.
I leave and return to my room. I sit down and start to collect mana again. I need to grow stronger, so that I can stop relying on my Goddess.
I've been relying on her too much and I don't want to stress her out.
I don't want to rely on anyone.
Images of Magnus', pulsating with power, suddenly appears in my mind. I feel a small tinge of heat wash my face.
I have to admit... He was rather dashing.
Anyway! I need to stop thinking of impure thoughts and concentrate on my own!
*Somewhere in the damned forest*
A young man in his early twenties is meditating in a warm and cozy cave. Eventually, his eyes open and an undeniable golden hue momentarily appears but is eventually overwhelmed by a cyan color.
"Magnus! You're finished?" Absolution asks.
Chuckling, I stretch my tired body and stand up.
"My mana veins are perfectly clean." I study my whole mana vein, while ignoring the noisy spirit besides me.
It seems luck is finally turning my way.

When everything turns into a zero sum game of dog eat dog, they'll find that The Hunter is an all too willing participant, but he will soon find out that he isn't the only player of this game. First story I'm posting and I don't really have a cool synopsis, sorry everyone, but this story is just another LitRPG apocalypse. I guess the only difference is that the main character isn't a hero. He's not here to save the world, he's not here to make friends, and he's definitely not here to save everyone. He's probably what the villains in other similar stories would be actually. Just writing for fun, advice or constructive critism is welcomed, writing style prone to change. Warning: Incredible amounts of poor grammar, Gore, Profanities, Traumatizing content, and cliches(I plan to have multiple main characters, maybe this is too ambitious for my poor skills, but it seems like it would be fun to try, the other MCs won't show up until later on.) The cover image isn't mine I just found it online. It's a piece by Stephanie Frey This takes inspiration from a lot of great stories on here, but I find the beginning to be most similar to Blood Lust by DefinitelyNotJormlung. Starcraft and Warhammer 40k and survival world rpg by S_Conary will also influenced this (at least that's my plan if I ever get that far or finish this) Also please stay with me until chapter 3. I suck at starting stories, but have been told I get better as I'm further along.
