《Undetermined》Chapter 49- Broken Spirits

After being restrained and drained of mana, there was nothing Fargar could do. He was subject to the torture that he had performed on others.

He was given a taste of his own medicine.

On the arm that remained, Ashley took her time plucking each and every fingernail off.

Garett then used one of the saws to create gashes all over the body of Fargar, and Trevor and Samantha merely watched as the goblin who had spent his life torturing others was tortured in turn.

Was what they were doing just?

Absolutely not.

But was it satisfying?

Absolutely.

"Ooh!! I wonder what this tool does!?", Ashley shouted in delight, grabbing a tool that looked like a skewer.

"Why don't we find out? I'm sure he had plenty of fun with it himself... hey could you show us how to use this one?" , Garett asked Fargar mockingly, who was now bound in the chair.

They both laughed cruelly as they experimented with the torturer.

Coran and Berith also stood behind, shivering in fear at the ruthlessness of their masters. Even after seeing them cowering in fear due to the panic spell which had been cast on them, they were once more reminded as to how terrible these beings were.

Trevor addressed Coran.

"You did well, Coran. If you hadn't intervened there, who knows what would have happened. I made the right choice to take you both in."

Coran was unsure whether this praise should make him happy or not, but he was at least relieved. His master was happy with him, which meant that he likely would not be put through too much hardship... hopefully.

The goblin who was tied up before was now untied, and watched in shock on his hands and knees as Fargar was tortured.

Trevor then addressed this goblin.

"It looks like you.... and all the ones hanging around here owe us your lives. Don't you think so?"

The goblin looked down. His face was filled with sweat, and his words did not seem to come out of his mouth, but one trembling whisper came out.

"What will happen to us?"

"Oh... you want to know?"

Trevor looked around at the goblins who were all hung up, with broken wills and dead looking faces.

He unchained one of them, and helped the goblin down.

After doing so, he took a closer look at the face of the goblin.

"The spirits of these ones are broken... do you know what that means?"

Oraguth froze.

"What does it mean?"

Trevor smirked.

"It means that they are useless for anything except dumb labor... there is no point in me saving them unless I am to use them as slaves."

"!!"

"Please, I beg of you! Do not further traumatize my people! I will do anything!"

Trevor looked over to the spiders.

"Coran, Berith. Good news for you both! It looks like I have found some new slaves! This means that you two are going to be promoted to our personal servants!"

Coran and Berith flashed insincere smiles at Trevor, unsure if that meant any real change in their responsibilities, but Coran responded politely.

"I thank you for this honor, your excellency. We will use all our strength to assist you."

Trevor then looked back to the goblin Oraguth.

"Now then... you said you will do anything in order to prevent your people from being further traumatized, no?"

"Yes! Please, take me as a slave if you wish! Just allow me people to go!"

It was now Oraguth's turn to suffer for his people, not the other way around. If by offering himself that he could prevent them from suffering further, he was ready to do so.

"But you will not be able to do the same work as the other 20 combined, no? What do I stand to gain from your offer?"

Oraguth looked up at Trevor, his hope shattered.

"Could you not find it in the kindness of your heart to accept my servitude and free my people?"

Trevor pretended to think and consider the offer for a brief second before bluntly responding.

"No."

----

Oraguth was completely taken aback.

From the moment that another group entered the room, confusion had ensued.

At first, he thought that they were some guests of his father, and he had believed this up until his father did not recognize them. Even so, he was filled with further terror at seeing them get along with his father so well.

They were monsters, just like him.

While Oraguth had essentially lost all hope, the last shred of hope was destroyed with the entrance of these demons.

However, an unexpected turn had been taken.

The demons fought, defeated, and even tortured his father.

Perhaps they were not sympathetic towards other monsters. Well, that was how monsters worked typically anyways, right? They wished to stand at the top, and would defeat anyone in order to do so. If only Oraguth hadn't been born with the curse of intelligence...

He had essentially been passed from the mouth of one creature to the mouth of another, but Oraguth's position as the prey had not changed.

He had been temporarily freed, but when the elven figure stated that he would make Oraguth's neighbors his slaves...

Something struck Oraguth.

He did not want to see his neighbors once more suffer while he sat back and watched.

So he offered himself.

But this demon... this monster....

Had rejected that offer.

Oraguth's despair alone was not enough to satisfy this demon in front of him.

He wanted to see everyone else suffering as well.

Oraguth cursed himself for not being stronger, as he watched all his neighbors be taken down from the chains.

The ghost figure and the red demon had finished torturing Oraguth's father, and had even sliced up his meat and bones and harvested the materials for their own uses.

It was disgusting to see his own father cut up like that, but Oraguth felt no sympathy. At least his father got what he deserved.

At this, he was slightly happy.

But that happiness wouldn't last.

"Now that we've cleaned up here... I think we had better head back to our domain. What a successful endeavor this was! We became stronger... we gained many slaves... we obtained materials... absolutely successful in every way!", the elf prided.

However, just as all the goblins had been freed and they were ready to leave the torture chamber, the back door swung open.

"Ark urus murbag!"

"Hoag!"

There was a horde of around 50 goblin warriors who stormed into the room. The hallway that lead to the backdoor was completely filled with the wild goblins, and they all held spears and cleavers- ready to attack. They seemed to have heard the conflict and arrived on the scene.

The ghost girl stood up and aimed her hand at the hallway, which was filled with charging goblin warriors from end to end.

With a devious grin and wicked eyes, she looked forward with a destructive sadism.

"This is the perfect situation to try out something new I've been thinking about"
