《Slayer of Kings》Chapter 45 - Tenebris

A village came into view. The houses in this village were all built at the bottom of the hill. They were not built on flat ground but were on the bottom slope of the hill. There were many of them. The houses were built by bricks and held together with cement.
They walked towards the village.
Mia did not have to rest. She wanted to go out and search for other squads. If they could team up, then saving Xander would be easy. So, after bringing Emilia to the hospital she left in search of other squads.
Emilia's had an injury to her lips and nose, but with a few days of rest, they would go.
Leo did not stay in the hospital. He left to find a source of water. He needed to fill his Crystal and increase his power. After asking around Leo got to know the location of a pond, but it was dangerous as it was close to the new city. Leo went towards it as he had no other option. He needed to recharge his Crystal.
If only the Essence was everywhere, then there would be no need to find a source of that Element. Leo thought. That would make it easier in battle also as he could fight and fill his reserve at the same time.
It took Leo twenty minutes to reach the pond. It was a big pond. Small and big fishes were swimming in it. The area was not silent. There were many birds in the area. Leo could not see the bottom of the pond. He stood at the edge.
Leo closed his eyes. He envisioned himself absorbing the Pure Element and Pure Essence. As he did this, the Elemental Essence rose from the pond and made its way to him.

His Crystal filled. Also, the Essence after going into the Crystal went through his body. His power increased.
It took forty minutes to make his Crystal full. By this time Leo was 55% in Normal Rank Level 4. Leo did not stop. He continued. The rate of absorption had reduced, but he did not stop.
Leo continued this for thirty more minutes. He was 70% of the way in Normal Rank Level 1. It would take one more week of absorption to reach Level 2. If the Crystal did not have a limit, then he could have reached Level 2 faster.
After he gets back to the village, he would have to add a new spell to his collection as two spells were not enough for him.
This is still not enough. He could not defeat the masked man nor the armored man with this power. He needed more.
Leo had to kill them. If you raise your sword against someone, then you must be ready to die.
His sword. Leo gave Xander’s sword to Mia. He had his own sword, but it needs activation.
Now was the time.
Leo raised his right hand. He then did what he did the last time. Water from his Crystal rushed to the part where the tattoo was. After thirty seconds it became visible, but Leo did not stop. He kept feeding it water. He had given it a lot before.
When one minute finished, the tattoo absorbed the water on its own. This continued for four more minutes. Leo’s reserve was empty, but unlike last time the tattoo did not go away.
It moved. It shined. It caused him pain. It moved out of his hand. Dark light flashed across the area. A sword appeared. Black blade and handle. One of the mightiest weapons from his old world. The Tenebris Sword.

It had no power right now. It could not even be compared to the one he knew. The difference in power was that great, but that was temporary. The more he used it. The more its powers would increase. As of now, he could only use it as a normal sword. He did not need to carry the sword in open as it could be called back to his body. When in his body the sword would take the shape of a dragon and rest on his hand.
Memories of his past came. This sword led to his death, but it was something he would never throw away. With this sword, he would have powers of two elements. Water and Darkness.
Leo figured he would have to activate the Darkness element within the sword by supplying it water. The Darkness element would not be of this world because of the sword’s origin. He did not know where it was from even in his old world, but he was sure it was not from his old world. Cao’s sword was also the same. Both are opposites of each other.
The same thing happened in his old world. He could activate the power sealed in the sword using his power from the old world. So in this world also he would need to use his power of the Water Element to activate the sword’s power That would take time.
Now he had a sword of his own. The dagger was also a weapon, but now it would go to the clone. He would keep the dagger which the clone had in case of an emergency.
He summoned the clone and gave the dagger to it. He then took back the dagger it had. Now, it was time to practice.
Leo and the clone stood face to face. He would leave the control of the clone to the Crystal.
His reaction time was high, but his body could not keep up with his mind. Leo had to change that. He had to train his body so it would be like the one from his old world.
After this mission gets over he needs to search for that symbol which appeared before he got teleported back to his room at the village. He had never seen that symbol before. Also, now that he thought about it. Why did Cao not attack him? Leo was almost dead, but that symbol saved him. If Cao wanted one strike was enough to take his life, but Cao did not do it. Why?
