《Slayer of Kings》Chapter 43 - Leo And A Sword

This will be difficult. Yes, it would be tough. Emilia and Xander were out. Also, they were outnumbered. Leo had to do something, but he could not attack Aldous. If he attacks, then the man in armor would attack.
What to do? He could go after the two newcomers who were near Mia. They looked weaker than Aldous and the armored man. If he could make Mia distract Aldous and the armored, he could kill the other two, but how would he say Mia about this plan? She was not near him and if he moved they would attack.
His reserves were down to 80%, but they were enough to keep him going. He had to act quick. To reach Mia, he has to go in the direction the armored man was in.
Aldous will not be a threat as long as he does not go near him. Leo was sure Aldous had a secret ability that stops others Crystal from working. After Aldous touched both Emilia and Xander they could not activate their Crystal.
So, as long as he does not go near Aldous the only threat was the armored man. Leo moved closer to Xander. He took Xander's sword. It had a silver blade and black handle. Finally, he could use a sword after so long.
Leo pointed the sword towards the armored man. He did not need to fight the armored man. All he needed to do was get past him and reach Mia so he could explain his plan.
Leo ignored Aldous as he charged towards the man clad in silver armor.
Seeing Leo charge towards him the man took out his sword and shield. He gripped the sword using his right hand while the shield went to his left hand. His armor shook as he ran.

Both their swords met. The man pushed Leo back. It was greater than his. But he had to keep pushing. Leo moved his sword back. Time for speed.
Leo charged. His sword moved with him. The man did not see this sudden charge coming. He retreated backward but blocked the sword with his shield.
Leo did not stop. He kept slashing his sword at the man. This excited him. The thrill of using a sword. It brought back memories, however, now was not the time for those.
Now was the time to move towards Mia. Leo stopped in his tracks. Scars covered the man’s shield. The material of the shield was bad according to Leo.
He charged one more time. The man responded with his own charge. Before their sword met Leo stopped in his tracks. Then Leo bent down and spun his legs. He was not aiming for the legs. He wanted the man to move back. As Leo planned the man, seeing Leo's position knew what Leo would do, so he moved back.
As the man moved back Leo ran towards Mia. But as he did this Aldous charged towards him and the two men charged towards Mia.
"Distract the two. I will take care of the two near you," Leo shouted as he turned his head back to shown Mia whom to attack.
As Leo said Mia moved away from where she stood. Leo and Mia exchanged positions. Leo faced the two new guys while Mia faced Aldous and the armored man.
They had to be quick. Leo charged towards the two guys and so did Mia to her opponents.
Mia did not get close but used her light orbs to attack them and keep them away from her. Leo did not need to do that. He attacked with full force and with the sword gripped.

Speed. That is what he needs. In his old world, Leo was famed for his speed. In his world that was not the case. The main reason for this was because of his power limit, but to these two who had no cultivation. As they had no Crystal Leo’s current speed was more than enough.
The sword moved towards the first enemy's neck. He bent backward, but the sword did the same. Leo pulled the sword as it came down. The sword cut deep into the man’s body and got pulled out. His skin ripped apart with blood and intestines gushing out. The man screamed in agony as he fell to the ground. Dead.
One down.
A kick came towards Leo from the right. He jumped forward and turned his sword back. The sword sliced the man’s leg. Blood gushed out while veins and muscles hung from the opening. He now balanced himself on one leg, but Leo did not stop. This brought back memories once again, but like before now was not the time. He was no longer a part of that world.
Leo sliced the remaining leg of the man. He could do anything. He could not dodge nor attack Leo.
Aldous reached Mia. They had been fighting all this time. She kept them at bay, however, when the armored man used his element. That left her with no choice but to retreat. Also, her light reserves were almost over.
She had to do something. But what?
Before Aldous could touch her a clone appeared. His hands went inside the clone. Leo increased the pressure of the clone. Aldous could not move his hands. The armored man sensing danger charged forward. So did Leo.
Mia used the clone as cover and moved back. She used her orb attack. Aldous could not move and he could not dodge because they were too close. The orb struck chest. He got sent flying and got caught by the armored man.
Blood rushed out from the wound. His flesh became visible, but Aldous did not scream. He did not. The only thing he did was stare at them.
The armored man knew he had to get Aldous to safety. If he wanted he could defeat both, but saving Aldous was more important. If not, once he returns… The runes… Memories he wanted to forget came back. He stood up as he put Aldous on his shoulder.
“I will remember you.”
He took out around a white ball. He then threw it on the ground. White smoke scattered across the area.
After twenty seconds the smoke left. The win also played a big part in removing the smoke.
Mia rushed towards Emilia and Xander, but she stopped in her tracks.
Emilia stood up with her hands holding the part where Aldous attacked her… But…
Where was Xander?

This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK?
