《Slayer of Kings》Chapter 12 - Fight Against The Beasts

The first one to reach him was the beast on the right, it came towards Leo with its mouth open, ready to bite and rip apart its prey the goal of the beast was Leo's neck.
Just before the beast reached him it jumped aiming for Leo's neck who quickly bent down seeing this and as the beast was above him, Leo then prepared to pierce it with his dagger, but before he could the other beast had arrived so now Leo had to move out of the way he slid to the left and dodged the other wolf.
The two wolves turned to face him and came rushing towards him once again Leo this time picked up a rock near him and threw it at the beasts, but they easily dodged it, so he picked up another rock and threw it he had to be fast since the distance between them was not long.
This time also the beasts dodged it, but since the distance was not very long, and they were distracted by dodging the rock Leo charged at them with his dagger he slashed his dagger towards the one on the right, he cut the beast's right paw however as he slashed the beast with his right hand the one on the left came up and bit his left hand.
Its teeth sunk deep into his muscles Leo could not stand the pain he screamed in his head, but he knew he had to act fast because if he didn't he would die.
He used the dagger in his right hand and stabbed the beast on its body the knife went straight through its skin and into its inside spilling blood, but the beast did not let go of Leo, so he took the dagger which was now covered in fresh blood out and stabbed it one more time in the neck.

The beast finally left his left hand, Leo knew this still was not enough to kill the beasts, so he dropped his dagger and used his right hand to grab the paw of the beast and then spun it and smashed it against a tree this shattered the beast's rib cage and caused its organs to be crushed this coupled with the dagger wounds from before and the blood loss made the beast finally die, taking one last look at the other beast that got its paw injured.
Seeing its partner killed before its eyes the other beast roared and rushed towards Leo. This time Leo once again moved out of the way just as the beast was about to make contact with him the beast went head first into a tree Leo quickly used his right leg to kick the belly of the beast he then used the same leg to stomp it from its back this caused damage to its insides then he took his dagger and stabbed it in the beasts back he then pulled the knife which was pierced inside the beast's skin this tore its skin and insides such as its muscle and organs the wolf roared in agony but, the injury was too much it had its inside ripped in half with the huge amounts of blood loss it died on the spot near the previous one.
Leo dropped his dagger as he tore off his top cloth and wrapped it around his injured left hand, he then fell onto the ground in exhaustion.
After about 10 minutes of lying down, Leo got up holding his left hand, the smell from the corpses of the wolf was spreading Leo was worried other animals might come here attracted by the smell, so he used his dagger and took pieces of meat from the beasts and moved away from the two corpses.

He found a quiet place he gathered some sticks and made a fire with it; he was forced to use his left hand; he felt as if someone was constantly stabbing his left hand, but he gnashed his teeth and made a fire.
He then cooked the meat he took from the two beasts after they were cooked he let them cool off for some time and ate it.
The meat had no flavor, and it wasn't cooked properly, but he didn't care he had not eaten for a long time and was exhausted.
After finishing the meat Leo made a bed by plucking up the grasses from other places and laying it on top of the grasses where he was supposed to sleep, he then slept, hoping no other beasts would come and left the fire to be burnt out by itself.
---
The next morning Leo woke up to the drops of water that fell on his face, he opened his eyes to look up at the sky and saw it had turned gray and rain was pouring down from it.
Leo got up from his self-made bed and used the trees as cover he didn't even have time to let his brain wake up properly.
The smell of the rain in the forest created a very unexplainable feeling to swell up inside Leo he looked up at the gloomy sky that seemed to replicate his own life.
Leo sighed at this sight and continued to walk towards the east.
After 10 minutes of travel, Leo heard beast noises near him once more not wanting a repeat of what happened last time Leo changed his directions and increased his speed.
As he made his way through the muddy ground due to the rain, the ground beneath him shook Leo had no idea how this happened.
'Earthquake?' Just as he thought this the ground beneath him collapsed and Leo fell down to the hole.
Luckily none of the ground that fell down struck him only small rocks and the rain fell on his face Leo got up from the ground looking around and to his surprise what he saw behind him was an old worn out room.
