《The Chronicle of a Witch》Chapter 51 The Real Unexpected Attack

“Do you think I will destroy this beautiful world?”
Zero chortled. “Well, if I believe it, I’ll be a true fool. But more importantly, you... you lived for thousands of years? Really? Are you a loli-baba?”
My hand unconsciously moved to hit his head, but annoyingly, he caught my hand. “Hey, Zero, I’m just a weak and fragile girl, so even if I hit you, it shouldn’t damage you at all, right? So, let me hit you please, alright?”
“Cough, well, that was just a reflexive move. Sorry, sorry, I won’t ask about your age again, so forgive me this once, please?” Zero stepped back. I was too lazy to chase him, so I reluctantly forgave him. Well, if I got the chance, I would surely hit his head later. He wouldn’t become more idiot even if I hit his head with my full strength repeatedly, would he?
Zero sat beside me again. “So, you are really from Earth, right?”
I shrugged. “Well, I’m certainly from Earth, but have you heard about the parallel world? I might be from your Earth, or I might be from Earth-616, who knows? But I am certainly living on a planet called Earth, the third planet in the solar system with Mars, Mercurius, er... ugh, I forgot the other planet names. Anyway, on my Earth, we definitely don’t have the technology of VRMMO like this, so I don’t think we come from the same Earth. Or even if I come from your Earth, thousands of years have passed already, so it’s definitely different. Well, it doesn’t really matter though.”
“No, I think you come from the same Earth as me and we come from the same era,” Zero said with tones full of confidence. I didn’t know how he got such confidence though.
“Oh, come on, Fey, you use several references that even I know, though it’s a bit old. Do you think that’s not enough proof? Well, how about it. You should be from around... 2000s or something like that, right? Am I right?” Zero asked.
How did he know about it? It was certainly true that I came from around that era. Maybe we really did come from the same Earth and the same era. How weird.
“Well, that proves it! So, Fey, you come from the same Earth as me and from the same era! Er, do you, well, do you have a regret that you need to be done—”
“Do you think I’m a wandering spirit!” I tried to hit him again with a [Firebolt], but again, he casually dodged before I could hit him. In addition to that, I could see his right hand twitched a little as if he tried to counterattack me, though he held back. It seemed he practiced martial arts or trained to fight, huh?
He raised both of his hands and chortled. “Well, you are pretty similar to that, aren’t you? So? No lingering regret at all?”
I sighed once again. “Seriously, stop treating me like I’m dead already. Also, even if I have, what can you do about it? It’s not like you can go around saying that you want to fulfill whatever regrets I have, right? Or... no, do you think I’m a boy that always has a secret folder in their computers? Or hiding adult magazines under their bed? I’m not that idiot. Anyway, no, I don’t have...”

No, I had one regret. Well, it was not a regret, but rather, something that I wanted to have. Also, it was not difficult for anyone to do it. Yeah, it should be easy for even someone idiot like Zero to do.
“...actually, I have something I could ask you.” I looked at him. He nodded and smiled.
“Well, can you, if we come from the same Earth and era, can you please look for my family? They should be still alive... well, and also, if it’s possible, I want to see their... photographs.”
I remembered that dream. That nightmare. Where I even forgot my mother’s face. Perhaps, if I had their photographs, I wouldn’t have that nightmare anymore. I wished Zero could help me.
“Got it. So, your name is really Fanarie D. Darriskha? Any other clue? Maybe your mother’s name or do you have an older sister? Or your best friend? Or little brother?” Zero asked. His face was oddly full of hope. Did he think that by helping me, he would be able to woe me? I wanted to tell him that it would be difficult to win my heart, but well, I shouldn't crush his hope easily.
“I have an older sister. I also have a little brother, a naughty little brother that can be extremely cute as well. Well, he’s not my real little brother though, so he’s not a part of my family. My big sister’s name is Lunarie D...”
I stopped as I heard a bell ringing from the outside. It signified the danger that coming. And in this town, as far as I knew, the danger only came from one creature. The Goblins. I was sure of it because the other monsters were either killed or left the area. I looked at Zero and both of us nodded at the same time. I didn’t know why but he looked extremely happy. Also, he looked a little bit serious now.
“Don’t worry, I will protect the people of this world,” Zero said solemnly.
“Ah, well, yeah, do your best. I’m not going outside at all, so, do your best, alright?” I didn’t know what to say, so I only said those words.
Now then, I should send a Slime to watch how the fight, no, the war was going, right?
...
It was early in the evening. The sun just set an hour or two hours ago. And with the rise of the moon, most of the Players were gone as well. Furthermore, without most of the Players, no one could control the Golems they had. So, there were only a handful of Golems on our side.
The soldiers were on the top of the walls, preparing the first volley of the arrows. It was almost impossible to see, but there were Goblins just a kilometer away from the gate. Their numbers, however, were not possible to estimate due to the darkness and the Goblins didn’t need light to see.
In summary, the Goblins had the advantage of this war while the human was definitely in disadvantage.
That was how most of the soldiers on the wall saw this war. That was how the Adventurers thought. If they had an advantage, that was only the fact that they had two dozen of Players and the walls that would protect them. Also, the gates should be able to hold the Goblins back and they shouldn’t be able to break them.

At least, that was the only advantage they had. The battle hadn’t begun yet, as the Goblins were still out of the range, but soon, they would arrive. When they reached two hundred meters, the first volley of arrows would be released. That was the farthest the typical bow could shoot.
The Goblins marched slowly, giving a lot of pressure to the soldiers. The Players that could use bows were also tense as they saw the silhouette of the Goblins coming closer. The Goblins were not a disorganized army and that gave a lot of pressure.
Just as the Goblins reached the two hundred marks and the Commander almost ordered the archers to shoot, they stopped. The Goblins stopped.
“What’s happening?”
“Why are they stopping?”
“Do they know the range of our bow?”
The soldiers couldn’t help but think like that.
“Hold your fire.” The Commander warned the archers as they were looking like they were ready to shoot the Goblins at any moment. And at that moment, the Goblins opened their ranks. The whole army was opened, and something heavy was running.
“It’s the Golems!” One of the archers shouted. Archer had better eyesight than the others, so they could see the figure of the Golems running towards them.
“Shoot!” The captains ordered when they saw tens of Golems running pass the two-hundred meters marks.
Unlike Goblins, however, the Golems were not living beings. They were also sturdier than the Goblins, so a few arrows hit them wouldn’t be a problem. The arrows were completely useless against the metal Golems. They only left clanking noises, as metal clashes against metal.
“Hold your fire!” The Commander ordered as the arrows wouldn’t do much damage to the Golems. It would be better if they saved the arrows for the much more fragile Goblins.
“Magicians, [Firebolt]!” The Commander ordered when they saw the Golems were on fifty meters marks.
The Magician unleashed a rain of fire at the Golems. The Golems protected their head, but when there was a rain of fire, it seemed that damaging any parts of the Golems was enough to stop them. If the [Firebolt] could blow off the Golems' legs, it would be enough to stop them.
However, there were tens of Golems. No, that was not right. Right now, there were almost a hundred of Golems running towards them. And the first volley of [Firebolt] was only enough to stop less than ten of them.
“Fire!” The Commander ordered and the second wave of [Firebolt] was shot towards the Golems. Another ten of them fell. But the Golems were already ten meters in front of them.
“Embrace for impacts!” The Commander shouted as the Golems were ready to crash the wall.
The Golems were spread around evenly. They didn’t try to strike any points of the wall, but they were trying to destroy the entire wall down. The wall was only five meters or so, while the Golems reached three meters, so, actually, the Golems were enough to climb the wall easily. Though that was not what they did.
The Golems used their entire weight and crashed at the wall and the wall... couldn’t even endure the first wave. It collapsed even with the first wave of the Golems, bringing a lot of the soldiers, the Adventurers, and the Players down.
When the wall collapsed, the Goblins marched again. This time, no one could stop them by firing arrows or Spells. The soldiers were busy saving their lives. Even when the wall was down, most of them were still alive. Unlike the people of Earth, the people in this world were far stronger and more resilient, so only some of the unlucky ones were killed when the wall collapse.
“Retreat! Retreat to point B!” The Commander raised his voice. He amazingly jumped down the five meters wall when the wall crumbled. The soldiers retreated while carrying their injured friends as they barricaded in point B. Well, it was just a junction with some makeshift barricades and most of the soldiers were hiding inside the houses surrounding it, preparing to ambush the enemies. I could see there were only less than a hundred soldiers were standing behind the barricades, preparing to shoot their arrows at the approaching Goblins.
As for the Golems, they were destroying the buildings. They swept the buildings around the walls. It seemed their job was to destroy buildings, not to kill humans. Some of the Players took the initiative to order their Golems to stop the Goblins' Golems, however, the Players Golems were easily defeated because of the difference in numbers.
“Shoot!” The Commander ordered the archer squad when the Goblins approached them. The Goblins ran, body lowered to the ground, and increased their speed. Tens of Goblins were shot down, yet, behind them, hundreds of them took the place of the fallen Goblins. The archers could only release one wave of arrows before it became a melee fighting.
That was when the others hiding in the houses ambushed the Goblins. The Mages shot [Firebolts] and burned a lot of Goblins. After that, the Warriors and the other soldiers rushed towards the Goblins and attacked them swiftly. The Goblins, caught unprepared, were killed easily. At least the normal Goblins were killed easily. As for the higher rank Goblins, they could fight and some even killed the ambushing Players.
Amidst the chaos, there were only several distinct figures. One of them was the Guild Master of the Adventure Guild. He was attacking the Goblins using broadsword that was bigger than even an average man. He sliced the Goblins easily, and even the Goblin Warriors was not his match at all. With every slash, he killed tens of the Goblins.
Another figure was the ex-Adventurer cook. He was using a huge battle-ax to produce similar results with what the Guild Master did with his broad sword. Also, he was quite sturdy, as several Spells hit his back, his head, and practically all his body, but that didn’t stop him from rampaging and killing the Goblins.
The twin Deities were not as overpowering as those two, as they worked together with several Players to produce almost similar results. However, there was another figure that could produce an almost similar result to those two monsters. It was Zero. Just like a shadow, he moved so fast that even my eyes could barely follow him. He could only kill one Goblin with his every slash, however, if the Guild Master and the cook needed three seconds to slash, Zero only needed a second to unleash three or four slashes. So, he produced almost similar results though the method was different.
“Well, should I join the fray and kill some Goblins as well?” I wondered as I watched the battle.

One Piece No Go No Ken
Work discontinued and ending. Other authors are free to message me if they want to take it A synopsis serves to attract attention without lying. This is useful because it gives a first impression of the novel, and immerse even before plunging into the story. Unfortunately, it does not count as one of my specialties. This fanfic is really peculiar and I think that few people will be able to appreciate it. So instead of trying to make you salivate, then have you disappointed, it would be better for you to make your own opinion, that is if you have time on your hands. If you do not like one piece or shounen animes, then you'd better turn back, as it would be a worthless read for you. If you've made it this far and have time to spare for yet one worthless attempt at making an original one-piece fanfic, then have a good read. N.B: I do not own one Piece or Fist of the north star, the image above, or any other anime/fictional character referenced in this fiction Please do not donate on this particular fanfic!
