《The Chronicle of a Witch》Chapter 17 Slimerin Vs Rhino-Bear

Familiar. In stories about Witches, even on Earth, they always had a Familiar in the form of a black cat or a black crow. In this world, however, a Witch didn’t only have a black cat or black crow as Familiar, but any monsters she had affinity on them could become her Familiar.
There were two types of Familiar, first was Magic Pet and the second was Familiar created by using a Magic. For Magic Pet, a Witch needed to make a contract with a monster to make the monster her Magic Pet. As for creating Familiar using Magic, the basic principle was similar to how the monsters were created. By compressing Mana, as most monsters were consisted of Mana. This creation created monsters that could be controlled by the creator because the Mana came from the creator.
As for Creating Monster, it was impossible. No, well, Familiar was a kind of Monsters as well, but when saying Creating Monster, there was no Skill to do that. Mages tried to create Monsters in the past, but in the end, they couldn't condense the Mana to form a Monster. Instead, they could only create Familiar. Like the Black Cat, Black Crow, Crickets, and also, Slimes. They weren't able to create other types of Monsters like a Goblin or Orc even when they used a huge amount of Mana. However, they were able to Summon Monsters from other places, so, instead of creating a Monster, the Mages decided it would be more effective to learn how to summon Monsters instead.
Incidentally, it was impossible to summon Familiar. No, it was possible to summon weak monsters like Slimes or Goblins, however, they wouldn't be a Familiar. Instead, they would be a pet, as best. Or just a Monster to be killed.
Creating a Familiar and Summoning a Monster was two different concepts because of it. Well, people called Creating a Familiar as Summoning a Familiar, although it was not a summoning but rather creating, but let’s forget this misconception. More importantly, even though Familiar created and monsters summoned were both created from Mana, but the source of Mana was different. The monster summoned would be stronger than the monster created by a Witch’s Mana, however, they also had their own will to be independent. That caused a lot of accidents that happened to the Summoners where the summoned monster killed the Summoner. It wouldn’t happen to the monster created by yourself though.
So, why did I start talking about this? I just wanted to say that a Familiar Slime was really different than the Smokeless Slime. The Smokeless Slime could be considered as an object, not a living being while Familiar Slime, even though it was created with my own Mana, could be considered as a living being. And even though I could completely control the Familiar Slime, but I couldn’t do something impossible. For example, I couldn’t solidify Aqua Slime or I couldn’t liquify Brown Slime. And now, I couldn’t even transform a part of my body into tentacles. Yep, I couldn’t transform this Aqua Slime’s form like the Smokeless Slime.
Without my tentacles, my fighting style changed into how typical Slime fought… was not happening. I said that monster was a concentrated Mana, right? Just like a normal monster, this Aqua Slime was made out of Mana as well. That meant I could use its Mana to conjure Magic.
Well, just like how I couldn’t overcome its physical limitation, there was elemental limitation too. Aqua Slime couldn’t use other elements except for water and ice. Also, even though I could use Magic, I could only use the lowest level of Magic, since my Intelligence stats was really low. Yep, even though I changed body, it only changed physical stats like Strength and Agility, but it didn’t change Intelligence stats at all, as the Intelligence stats was connected to my consciousness or soul, not to the body.

However, there was a little problem. Alright, it was not a little problem, but rather quite a huge problem. After landing on top of the Rhino-Bear’s back with cool landing pose, the Rhino-Bear abruptly turned around and attacked me. I jumped quickly, avoiding its claw by a small margin, and after that, it attacked me incessantly. Why?
Anyway, because of that, I couldn’t concentrate on using Magic at all and could only focus on its claws so it wouldn’t hit me.
“What is happening? Why is that Rhino-Bear attacking that Slime? She said she is Slimerin, right?” A Player asked confusedly. Perhaps he thought that there was a civil war between monsters. Well, it was not wrong, as I and the Rhino-Bear was in different faction… cough, anyway, I wanted the Players started taking action, not watching me Tanking this monster alone!
“…should we kill that Slime first?” Another Player raised this idea. Wait, don’t you think that I should be killed later? No, in fact, you shouldn’t kill me!
“I think so. It is more dangerous than the Rhino-Bear.” A female Mage said hesitantly. Which part of this weak-looking Slime looks more dangerous than the Rhino-Bear!?
“I think it came just as we almost defeat the Rhino-Bear. Don’t you think that it wants to eat and absorb the Rhino-Bear so it gets its power?” A glasses Mage nodded in agreement. I didn't absorb anything! Why do you think a Slime can absorb another monster's power while they are still alive? Also, you were almost trampled by the Rhino-Bear without that silly Goddess tanking it! How can you say a shameless thing like you almost defeat it?
“Wait, guys! I see its Combat Power! It’s not 5 anymore! It has Combat Power of 79! It must have absorbed the Rhino-Bear’s power!” A Healer with a Scanner exclaimed in surprise. Like I said, I didn't absorb anything at all! Also, I just change my body to an Aqua Slime, so naturally it would be stronger than the Smokeless Slime!
“What!? Even when it only has 5 CP we can’t defeat it, now it has 79 CP, it must be a lot stronger now! We really should kill it first!” Someone exclaimed in fear. No, no, no. You shouldn't kill me first. I'm just a peaceful Slime that wants to help you kill this monster. Can you see just how innocent this round and cute appearances are?
“Yes, yes, you are right! Come on guys, let’s kill the Slime first!” Everyone shouted in unison.
...Ah, well, I'm tired retorting them all. There was only one question in my head.
…why? I looked around, hoping the silly Goddess or someone else to clear this misunderstanding, however, the silly Goddess was not here. Zero and Donald weren’t here either. As for the other person who knew my true identity… it was only that silent God whose words were more precious than gold. Yep, he wouldn’t help me clear this misunderstanding at all. No way, now, I was attacked by both the Rhino-Bear and the Players? What kind of star of misfortune I was born under?
Luckily, the Players didn’t have a commander at the moment. It seemed without the silly Goddess or Donald or that male Tank, they didn’t have anyone to take the lead. Their attacks were so random and I could use their attacks to hit the Rhino-Bear instead.
Roar!!!
The Rhino-Bear roared and chased me with even more vigor after being hit by numerous [Fireballs] and arrows. As for the Tanks and the Warriors, none of them dared to enter the firing zone. Speaking of which, after the Rhino-Bear roared earlier, the number of the [Fireballs] and the arrows decreased significantly. It seemed the Players flinched, huh?

I wouldn’t last long if we fought like this. Seriously, even though right now I could dodge everything, but just like that silly Goddess, I might make a mistake sooner or later. And I believed that I would make a mistake sooner than later. Yep, I had no confidence in my ability to focus after all.
It was not like I didn’t have a way to defeat the Rhino-Bear with my current ability. I had a way, however, if possible, I didn’t want to use this trump card. It would damage me after all. I hoped the Players would cooperate with me and attacked the Rhino-Bear, not me, but it seemed that my Plan A was a failure.
Oh, well, I should use my trump card here. Alright, here I go!
When the Rhino-Bear opened its mouth to roar again, I hurriedly jumped and entered its mouth. Yep, I entered its mouth and in a hurry, I entered deeper into its throat and entered its stomach. This Slime was similar to liquid after all, so it was easy to enter the Rhino-Bear’s stomach through its mouth. However, even though it was a liquid, if it bit me, I would feel the pain of being bitten, so I entered hurriedly. Now, inside its stomach, I felt pain as well because of its gastric acid, so I concentrated and used Magic to make water.
Speaking of which, Slime didn’t need to breathe, but it didn’t mean that it didn’t have any sense of smell. Also, even though I didn’t need to breathe as a Slime, it was still suffocating and I felt slight claustrophobia here. It was the reason why I didn’t want to use this method, as it damaged me mentally.
Well, that was why I wanted to finish it as soon as possible. Now that I was inside its stomach, I could attack it while it couldn’t attack me at all. As for my attacking method, I summoned water incessantly. Yep, even after its stomach was filled to the brim, I kept summoning water. The Gastric acid was not useful as its concentration lowered by a lot because of the increased water level.
Of course, drinking too much water could kill someone, however, it was not realistic to kill this monster just by forcing it to drink too much. After I felt that all the water I summoned was all over its body, or rather, its digestive system, I used my next Magic to freeze the water. And after that, I let the basic law of water to do its work. Hm, what?
I meant, the water would expand if it was frozen, right? Just like how water could break a bottle filled with water to the brim and put it in the freezer. And I expanded this water inside the Rhino-Bear’s digestive system…
Alright, let’s not describe what I saw in great detail as it was too gore. Let’s make it simple just by saying that the Rhino-Bear was dead because of it. Rather than describing how gore its death was, the most important thing was that I felt stronger. Perhaps after killing the Rhino-Bear, my level raised quite a bit?
It was the time to see my status!

…wait, what? My name changed into the Great Slimerin? How could it be? Oh, it was the status of this Slime’s body, right? Yep, it must be that. However, I was surprised when I looked at the Intelligent stats. No, since the Intelligence was connected to consciousness, it should be my Intelligence rather than this body’s Intelligence, right?
I wasn’t so sure myself. Well, whatever. I didn’t want to see the stats anymore. Even though I raised to more than level fifteen, I didn’t get any new Skill at all. It was disappointing. Well, let’s see the bright side though.
Which was… I was still inside the Rhino-Bear body with frozen water all around me. Why didn’t I defreeze it now?
Well, there was a reason for this. It was because… the ice was the thing that protected me from the bloody, cough, the red liquid caused by the rupture. I didn’t want to bathe in that red liquid, so I kept the ice around me frozen. As for the cold from the ice, well, should I start singing the cold wouldn’t bother me anyway?
…
Outside. The Players were surprised when they saw the Great Slimerin being eaten by the Rhino-Bear. The Rhino-Bear roared in excitement as it defeated its mightiest foe and rushed to the closest Player. However, just after it took several steps forward, it stopped and its expression changed. It stood on its two feet and claws its stomach in agony while roaring in pain. After a few seconds of struggling, the Rhino-Bear abruptly fell down with a loud thud and it stopped moving completely after that.
“What is happening?” A Player asked, confused.
“Do you think that that Slime kills it from the inside?” A Player said.
“D-don’t be ridiculous! Even though it is strong, how could an eaten Slime kill this monster? It cannot kill this monster by slamming with its slimy body, can it?” Although he said it, and although almost everyone nodded to this, almost no one believed it. No, they wanted to believe it, rather than believing that a Slime could kill the Rhino-Bear by itself.
“So, anyone want to check whether it’s truly dead or it’s playing dead?” Another Player asked.
“…” No one wanted to die and lose a Level though, so no one volunteered. It was until five minutes later that someone noticed that there was a lot of blood around the Rhino-Bear’s mouth.
“It seems it’s truly dead.” They thought hesitantly. It was only after a notification rang out in everyone’s head that they believed the Rhino-Bear was truly defeated.
[Congratulations for the Players from Newbie Village 19191 for the first to defeat the first Raid Boss]
