《The Lost World》Chapter 8

Some people just liked to watch the world born and it was up to Jasmine and her brother to save this world from the bad people that were in it. Her brother was standing right behind her, she could feel his hot breathe on her neck and then she started to walk a cross the bridge and her brother followed her. When was this going to be over? She knew it probably wasn’t going to be over soon. They had just started this journey and they had already been through some shit already. Jasmine and Bobby got to the other side of the bridge and they both noticed just a small hill, that is what they were standing on and more bridges. It was like they were being lead somewhere. Where could they be going? Probably into danger once again. Jasmine was going to lead the charge.
Jasmine kept a very heavy grip on her spiked mallet and she started walking over the bridges, Bobby followed behind and the only reason he was behind Jasmine was to keep her from getting attacked by any other bad guys. It was like he was the lone wolf, they always stayed a few feet behind the pack so they could defend it. He didn’t feel like talking and he continued looking around. Oddly, no creatures or robots were in the area. He did hear something buzzing up in the sky, he couldn’t see what it was. It was hidden by the blood red clouds in the sky. Yeah, they looked like blood now and not just fire. You know that feeling you get when your walking into a trap? He was getting that feeling. Maybe it was more of a bad vibe, he just knew some heavy shit was going to go down soon.

They went over a few more covered bridges until they came to the mouth of the burning forest. There was no heat coming off the forest, it just looked like it was on fire. Jasmine just stood there and looked at the mouth of the forest and she shook her head. Who could do this? She was actually getting mad and she wanted to fight something and luckily there wasn’t anything around. She would of went crazy and started fighting whatever she saw. She knew she had to make sure her health was good. You know this was different than actually playing a video game. If she was just playing a game, she could pause the game and take a little break. Maybe go grab a coffee or an energy drink and the refocus her energy to play the game. That wasn’t what this was. This was very real and scary.
Bobby looked at the mouth of the burning forest, he had a very serious look on his face. “Welcome to hell.” It’s true, hell couldn’t be worse than these. Nothing else could be worse than this. Bobby walked in front of Jasmine and started walking towards the burning forest. Should he call this area this? The Burning Forest. It sort of had a ring to it, when they fully entered the forest. He felt the energy change, it felt very dark and foreboding in the forest. He started to look around for places where bad guys could pop out and attack them.
He didn’t really find any. If there were any bad guys they probably would of popped out by now. So they continued to walk. They still felt like they were being taken somewhere by some sort of spirit. There was still that humming and swishing in the sky. Honestly, it sounded like an airship. Was something going to come down and attack them? Bobby wished he had more weapons besides his fists. His fists were not going to be able to defend an airship and whatever came off of it. Again, Bobby thought they were walking into a trap. He was just getting that vibe. He wasn’t going to say anything because he didn’t want to scare Jasmine. She probably knew something was up.

The ground started to shake a little – great, something was about to happen. What next? Snakes falling from the sky? He dug his feet into the ground and he was expecting an onslaught of robotic bad guys. Nothing came, maybe they were catching a break. Both of them looked into the distance and they saw another bridge and what looked like water. They couldn’t make out the color of the water. Most likely it was still blood red. They approached bridge and then they saw a silhouette of a person. There were people in this world?! Maybe they could both get some answer. This person looked back and had wings. Wait, was this person a freaking bird? They walked closer and the figure got clearer and that is what it was. A bird. It was about Jasmine’s size. She had to be about five feet tall. Bobby was a bear and had to be about seven feet tall. He was a bigger target and that is why he was in front of Jasmine for a little while.
Jasmine looked at Bobby. “Should we try to go say hi?”
Bobby shrugged. “It couldn’t hurt.” Yeah, it couldn’t hurt. That is all he could think up to say. For all they knew he could be some evil robot that had been sent to kill them. He was still leading the party so to say and he approached this new person and it looked like the bird was just staring off into the distance. Almost looked like he was waiting for something to happen. Like he was expecting a large scale invasion.
“You know I can see you, right?” The Bird spoke as he turned around and looked at Bobby. The Bird had dark eyes, a yellow beak and white fluff on his chest. He also had on a pair of knee high leather boots with straps on them. They had wheels on the bottom of them and both of his hands were covered in white gloves and he extended one had to Bobby. “Name is Skate.”
Skate, The Crow. It was an odd name and Bobby blinked and shook Skate’s hand and he was assuming that Skate was here because of the forest being on fire.

Tale of Family - Book 1 - WIP
The world is peaceful in 2063. Fusion reactor and Diamon battery had taken care of the energetical problem. Countries were stable. Automation was everywhere. Life wasn't hard anymore, at least not in the United States of Europe. Summer break is about to start and, finally, Zoe will turn 18 and be able to play the game, Binding Fate. A simple video game, a vrmmo, but what swam under its surface wasn't simple. Power, fame and money were but the tip of the iceberg... State: Hiatus because I've an idea for another story. Quick F.A.Q. : - Yuri/female homosexual relation? Yes.- Yaoi/male homosexual relation? Maybe.- Explicit Sexual Content? Maybe.- Full Fledged Tragedy? No. Never, ever ever.- Body Modification/Body Horror? Yes. (Note: what one person think is body horror can be acceptable for someone else. If you want to see to what length I can go, read a bit of The Other Labyrinth. However, I won't go as high as quickly in the body mod/horror, so relax.- Gore? Hell yeah! I love gore! spraying blood and viscera etc...- Torture? Hurgh... maybe? Idk. Not at the start at the very least.- Memory loss/erasing? No, or at least not permanently. I basically hate this trope because it's like taking out all the character grow from a character, destroying everything that makes them what and who they are. so no.- Overpowered protagonist? You will see mufufu...- Will characters stay relevant seeing how numerous they are? YES, MOTHERFUCKING YES, I hate when characters relevance decay over time for no good reasons ^^'- Plot Armor? First of all, a definition: "Sometimes referred to as "Script Immunity" or a "Character Shield", Plot Armor is when a main character's life and health are safeguarded by the fact that he's the one person who can't be removed from the story. Therefore, whenever Bob is in a situation where he could be killed (or at the least very seriously injured), he comes out unharmed with no logical, in-universe explanation." (courtesy of https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlotArmor I love you guys ^^) So now that this is said, do my characters have plot armour? No, because I always have an in-universe explanation, even if you don't know it yet ^^ Something is illogical or don't make sense? Read more, the answer is surely in the story ^u^- Balanced system? If you want to crush numbers and have a perfect equation balancing all the system, that's not the story for you. The system is more like a living being, and the rewards aren't forcibly tied to the level of the player. In fact, the system is purposely unbalanced ^^' Author's note: My goal here is to write a slow-paced story revolving around the bonds linking the characters, be them family, friends or lovers. Fight will be part of it, but I intend to build an actual interesting world before making truly large-scale battle happen, because the bigger a battle is, the larger its causes and effects are. I also aim at telling a story about how the characters actually help each other becoming stronger, more stable and happier. I particularly despise the lone MC type that becomes so powerful that every other character of the current setting become irrelevant beside being hostage targets, so this will not happen. I also like crafting, arrays, blacksmithing etc... so there may be crafting. Another thing I like is management game like sim-city or the like, so this while also appears, keeping in mind that I like MC's that make people around them stronger... For the tropers around here, a list of tropes that I like to use (note that I may not use all of them ^^) (this list will be updated as I dive deeper and deeper into our dear trope wiki.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BodyHorror- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SealedGoodInACan- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouAreNotAlone- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ZombieAdvocate (In particular since I see a lot of things that aren't human as worthy to live and to live with)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvenEvilHasLovedOnes- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvenEvilHasStandards- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeelFaceTurn- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CorruptTheCutie (Note: being corrupted don't mean you're a villain, only different than before.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DefectingForLove (Of course.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainousRescue- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InterspeciesAdoption (For the same reasons as zombie advocate, since I love family stuff)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrokenBird (to go with corrupt the cutie if it's a girl)Cover: "The Bard" by John Martin, 1817.
