Author’s Note:
Hey everyone, so I have just gained one more editor, 1jayds, he is a capable editor who will ultimately make the chapters better along with the other two. Tyhuko and 1jayds are also in the beginning stages of writing their own stories. I am editing them and they both look very good! I will link their blogs when they start posting their chapter.
Recently, many of you readers have been asking me to read your stories for my honest opinion, edit it, and tell you what you should work on. I am always willing and glad to read your stories. Just email at [email protected] and we will talk further from there. I hope you enjoy the chapter :)
True Identity
Chapter 16 – [The Brotherhood]
BOOM!
Suddenly a huge explosion could be seen, devouring everything that stood within its radius.
…
With the fires gone and the smoke dispersed, there was a ghastly sight to be seen. Where Hadden once stood, was now a huge crater. And within that crater, Duke’s party. But on the other hand, I could also see Danik’s drops! Let’s hurry up, revive and grab the loot!
…
Garan was the first one to revive. Upon reviving, Garan quickly grabbed the loot from the Boss and Duke’s party and started to run as fast as he could. But in party chat he said.
“Don’t worry, I’m not stealing the loot. I just want to get out of here before Duke’s party revives or more people come because of the loud explosion. When you guys revive come to these coordinates, but make sure nobody is following you.” – Garan
Garan sent the coordinates in the party chat and one by one, everyone was reviving and started moving towards the coordinates.
I was the last one to revive but I didn’t revive long after Iris, so we moved to the coordinates together. Iris was acting more conscious than me for some reason though.
“Wait, something is coming” – Iris
Sure enough we could here numerous footsteps coming from the direction of the village. We both put up our weapons ready to fight. Not long after, we saw tons of goblins running towards us but instead of attack us like we thought they would, they just ran past us, screaming like babies. We were both confused but I think I know what happened.
“I think they started to panic because their leader died. So without anybody leading them, they’re just running away for their lives.”
We continued on our way to the coordinates without worry about the stray goblins running past us. While Iris and I were walking, we didn’t talk all that much. She was a girl of not many words, only talking when it’s needed. Some people would feel annoyed because of that, but to me, it made her seem somewhat mysterious and interesting.
Tyhuko’s Rambling: MILF alert.
Finally reaching our destination, we saw the rest of the party hiding in a cave.
“Alright, let’s get these drops identified and distribute them.” – Garan
Garan handed me the drops since I could identify them. He handed me a 2-handed spear that glowed a dark green hue, a cloth helmet, a cloak, and a spellbook. Carrying the items, I started to identify all the loot.
Item Name: Hood Of Lost Justice [Tier: Basic]
Type: Cloth Helmet
Durability: 75 / 75
Stats: Healing Power + 20 Defense + 15
Requirements: Level 12
Amber and Lilith both rolled for the cloth helmet since it helped healers. In the end, Amber won the cloth helmet and was now, sticking her tongue out celebrating while shoving the helmet in Lilith’s face.

Item Name: Cloak Of Faded Wars [Tier: Basic]
Type: Cloak
Durability: 100 / 100
Stats: Defense + 25, Fire Resistance + 5%, Strength + 20
Requirements: Level 14
Cloaks were extremely valuable because they didn’t drop much. Even though the Cloak was of the basic tier, it would still help melee players significantly. Garan, Ronin, Iris, and I all rolled for the cloak and to my surprise, I won. I equipped my newly acquired cloak and was now also shoving it in the rest of the party’s faces.
Item Name: Crusade [Tier: B]
Type: Spellbook
Durability: –
Requirements: Level 15
Descriptions: Using this skill will turn your entire body into a bomb, damaging everyone and everything within the explosions radius. The higher the skill level, the bigger the bomb. Warning, activating this skill will kill you and the usual penalties for dying will apply.
“Woah, this is the skill that the Boss had. If you level it up enough, you could create an explosion as big as the Boss made or even better.”
“That’s awesome!” – Garan
“Yeah but there are a ton of negatives to this skill. I believe that the only way to level the skill up is by using it. Which means you’ll die and receive the penalties like losing a level….”
“Whatever, let’s just roll for it!” – Garan
We all roll for the spellbook. Honestly, I didn’t really care if I won the spellbook or not because I don’t think I would be quick to use it. On the other hand, Garan was the only one who seemed really excited about the skill and to his excitement, he won it. He immediately opened the spellbook and started to complain while reading its contents.
“Fuck, I hate reading books and now I have to read this.” – Garan
I could see that Garan was struggling to read the words but slowly and constantly he finished reading the spellbook. After reading all of the contents, Garan said the words “acquire skill”. The spellbook glowed brightly and then started to disappear. Garan had just acquired the skill [Crusade]. I guess the skill fits his personality.
“HAHA, now shall I test this baby out?” – Garan
“NOOOO!!” – Everyone else
Tyhuko’s Rambling: Garan is either Illuminati or ISIS… or both.
Finally I identified the 2-handed spear that had a darker green hue than usual.
Item Name: Night’s Reach [Tier: Grand +]
Type: 2-Handed Spear
Durability: 175 / 175
Stats: attack: 45 – 55
Requirements: Level 18, Strength at least 95
“Holy shit, this is a Grand + tier weapon. Is this the best weapon in AA right now?”
we immediately check the list
“Best weapons in Absolute Authority”
Best weapons in Absolute Authority
#1 Night’s Reach [Tier: Grand +] (2-Handed Spear)
#2 Soul Rapier [Tier: Grand] (1-Handed Sword)
#3 Foe Of Chaos [Tier: Grand] (2-Handed Spear)
#4 Warbringer [Tier: Grand] (2-Handed Axe)
#5 Promise Of The North [Tier: Grand] (2-Handed Staff)
#6 Pact Of The Night [Tier: Grand] (1-Handed Dagger)
#7 Moonlight Cleaver [Tier: Grand] (1-Handed Axe)
#8 Soul Of The Suffering [Tier: Grand] (1-Handed Staff)
#9 Fury’s Fist [Tier: Grand] (1-Handed Knuckles)
#10 Musket Of The Storm [Tier: Grand] (Rifle)
“It is! This weapon must be worth a shit ton of money!”
“What should we do with this weapon?” – Garan
“We don’t have any spearman, so maybe we should sell it on the auction and split the money. I bet we could get at least 10,000 dollars for this weapon. That would give each of us around 1,666 dollars each!”
“We should do that! Truth is, I really need the money right now.” – Amber
“Yeah let’s do that” – Ronin
“Alright, I’ll sell this on the auction and send the money to your bank accounts”
“Okay!” – everyone
I quickly listed the spear on the auction house, making the starting bid price at 10,000 dollars and the timer set for 3 days. But if someone wanted to just buy the weapon without bidding, they could buyout the spear for 50,000 dollars.
Maybe I should have set the buyout price lower but on the other hand, there are some rich and crazy people out there who want good equipment. 50,000 dollars would probably be nothing to them compared to obtaining a great weapon. Then maybe I should have just put the buyout price to 1,000,000 dollars! Nah, I don’t think anybody would be that desperate.
“Alright, I put the spear on the auction house, hopefully it’ll sell. Let’s go back to the village now and receive our rewards.”
…
When we finally got back to the village, we saw dead bodies everywhere. Goblins and adventurers were dead all over the place. We had to step over torn body parts and it was impossible not to step into a puddle of blood in order to reach the village.
The place caused nausea because of the rotten flesh everywhere. We might have won the battle but the village is in ruin. It’s going to take a long time before things go back to normal here.
It was unfortunate that most of the drops from the slaughtered goblins were already collected, I was looking forward to picking up some valuable loot that was left behind. But I was still fortunate enough to pick up some coins that were left behind.
When we entered the Cobeth Village, we walked up to the Edilath Commander looking forward to our reward.
“Hello commander”
“If it isn’t the heroes that helped us win the battle. Here are your rewards.” – Edilath Commander
[For your efforts in the Kingdom Event you have gained the rank Edilath Officer and 1 Honor Point]
Suddenly a silver emblem appeared on my left shoulder. It showed a single silver star and under the star, it read Edilath Officer. I looked at the others and they all also had the Edilath Officer emblems on their left shoulders.
“Holy shit, I just gained 50 fame, how much fame did you earn Amber?” – Garan
“60 fame….” – Amber
“What?! How can that be? You didn’t even get a single kill!” – Garan
“I have no clue…. Maybe different classes are judged differently. It’s probably like this: for a knight it’s based more on the kill but for a healer, it’s most likely based on the healing done and keeping people alive” – Amber
“Fuck!” – Garan
Curious, I walked up to Iris and asked.
“How much fame did you get?”
“85….” – Iris
“…”
What the fuck, this girl is crazy! Just how many goblins did you kill? This girl is just something else, how am I ever going to catch up to her.
“Alright let’s go back to Edilath” – Ronin
…
Not long after we started our walk to Edilath, system announcements started to appear.
[Edilath Kingdom has completed a Kingdom Event. For successfully completing the event, the Kingdom of Edilath will gain 10 Honor Points]
[Edilath Kingdom currently has the most Honor Points. The adventurers of Edilath are rewarded with 5% experience bonus]
“Holy shit, this means that gaining experience will be significantly increased. For everything we kill, the monster will give us 5% more experience than usual. This is awesome!” – Amber
“Yeah, I knew that Edilath was the right place to start. And the rest of you wanted to start in Prilian, the kingdom in the south.” – Ronin
“Yeah, yeah, don’t rub it in.” – Amber said while rolling her eyes.
…
After another boring hour and a half’s walk, we have finally reached Edilath. We passed through the huge eastern gate and saw people crowding around the Kingdom Hall. We pushed through the crowd into the building to see what the ruckus was about.
People were crowding around the kingdom merchant. The kingdom merchant was where you would buy kingdom goods like kingdom apparel. But as we approached the merchant, we saw that teleport scrolls were now available. These teleport scrolls allowed you to teleport back to your kingdom but the teleport scrolls were only available to ranked Edilath adventurers.
Looking around, we only saw few Edilath ranked players. Only those who had participated significantly in the Kingdom Event had gained ranks. We purchased some teleport scrolls that were 1 gold each and noticed the jealous eyes from the other adventurers watching us.
“Let’s get out of here”
We rushed out of the Kingdom Hall and stopped when we got to adventurer’s square. We all looked fatigued from the run and from our past adventure together.
“Let’s go to the pub and talk while eating some good virtual food.” – Garan
“Sounds like a good idea.” -Ronin
I looked at Iris who then nodded back at me.
“Alright, let’s go.”
“Follow me, I know just the right place!” – Garan
…
We went to a pub that looked somewhat suspicious because it was at the end of a dark alley. But the pub’s good food and drinks made up for its spookiness. The game also allowed us to even get alcoholic drinks even though we were still underaged. We quickly noticed that the drinks affected us the same way in game that it would affect us in real life. This 95% realism is very… real.
We talked about various things like what we planned to do in the future.
“What do you guys plan to do now Ronin.”
“Umm, we’re actually thinking of joining [The Brotherhood]. They seem like a stable group and from what we saw during the Kingdom Event, they’re very powerful. You should come join us, how about it Axle?” – Ronin
“Hmm, thanks for the offer but I’m going to have to decline, sorry.”
“Oh no problem, mind telling us why?” – Ronin
“I’ve had the dream since the beginning of this game to start my own guild. A place where all my friends and I could have fun and go on great adventures.”
“Oh that sounds interesting, what would the name be?” – Ronin
“Hmm, I have no idea right now, but when it finally comes down to it, I’ll try to think of something cool.”
“Haha, sounds good. Maybe when you establish your guild, we’ll join.” – Ronin
“Is that a promise or just the alcohol talking?”
“Haha, I don’t know, we’ll just have to see when you establish the guild.” – Ronin
“Alright, it’s a promise.”
We talked more about other various things but now it was time for me to log out and go to sleep.
“I got to go guys, I have something important to do tomorrow so I have to go to bed early. Bye”
“Same, I also have something to take care of tomorrow. So I’ll be taking my leave here.” – Ronin
But just before we were about to logout, a system announcement appeared.
[Ares has established [The Brotherhood]. For this incredible feat Ares is rewarded with 5 Honor Points]
…
Author’s Note:
If you were wondering what honor points are here it is. Honor Points for players is like a nobility rank instead of military rank (of course they wouldn’t get votes on stuff, just mansions/places for guilds free of cost/free use of stables) and for the others just some salary, influence with noble houses that would make them give them more quests with more and more rewards.
Honor Points for Guilds and Kingdoms are a little different. Honor Points are used for not just boasting but if you have more Honor Points, there’s a possibility of benefits that will help your guild/kingdom. As you can see, Edilath Kingdom currently has the most Honor Points right now, so they have received a reward of 5% more experience. That will be taken away if they lose their top spot. I hope this helps, it will get easier to understand as time goes on.

8 112Children of Danu, People of Skill Book 1. (LitRPG/Gamelit)
Hi all, this is my first attempt at fiction ever. I'm sure it's awful, first attempts at new things usually are. Hopefully you can find something you like in it. I had a great deal of fun writing it. It's a basic Litrpg/Game, God sends you to a new world to do their bidding plot. I Know I did too much telling and not enough showing. I'm working on that. The underlying system is one haven't seen or done much. a full Point Buy system, like Gurps, Champions or the Hero system. After writing it a while, I see why folks don't do it. The record keeping is tedious. And once you start doing math in subsequent chapters, you can't go back and add more action, just because you dread redoing all the math. I've got about 80k words written in two "books" on the novel so far. I'm going to edit chapters and try to drop a couple a week till it's finished. Hopefully that will work for folks. I need to punch up the amount of action. I'll be working on that as well. Thanks, Cal-P.S> The cover art is one of the two CIrce Paintings By Waterhouse.
8 300Ashen Skies
Father. Allfather. He who was crowned twice. It has been ages since you have ascended. Since you were crowned with godhood for a second time. Since you have left an empire for us to dwell in, to defend. I yearn for an answer; why have you forsaken us! With you gone, your people have grown weak, complacent, and proud. Proud of who they are, proud of their blood. That pride blinds their eyes and clouds their minds. They are fools, for they have forgotten the ways of the past. They have forgotten the fears of old. The one you had to bind until the end of the time. They have forgotten the dark beast with red jewels for eyes. The Wargr gnaws the walls of his cage even now as I write. Itching for the taste of blood. I ask for forgiveness, for until a while ago I too was one of them. I thought I saved your children from the foretold doom. I now realize the hordes of foes we buried were just like us. No fearsome beasts, no harbingers of doom. Mortals of different flesh, different kind. But I am awakened from that dream now. I see it. Every time I close my eyes, I see it. The cold descends as the Dark walks the land, And the crimson stars shine beneath, as the ashen storm claims the realm. I hear the beast roar as the chains of Rukh crack, Only then I know. Only then I realize. That it’s the end. Descend to earth one more time. Save the puny souls that are us. If not, if you let my dreams come true; then will all die under an ashen sky. Leol, a son of Vaella
