《Dream Tower》9. A Drunk Rescue

Axis was already hurt and was tired from using all of his dream energy. He had no plan or idea to get out of this situation. He was surrounded by 4 people, three men, and one lady. They all were dressed identically in a black-colored suit with golden strips around and everyone had a visible chain from a pocket watch but they were not the same.
The person who had ordered him to stand still had a silver chain, while the lady had a bronze-colored chain. The other two guys had copper chains.
The lady then waved her hand and suddenly Axis found his hand and feet bound and a force was pushing him to kneel.
The man with the silver chain then said, “Elizabeth, don’t put too much force on him. He looks injured and is only a suspect. Burt and Rud, both of you form a perimeter around here.”
The man with the silver chain then walked towards Axis and said with a simple smile, “I am Captain Jorgen Werd from Watch Tower and I have some questions for you.”
He then proceeded to remove Axis’s mask and to both his and Axis’s surprise the mask didn’t budge. He laughed a bit in embarrassment and said, “If you don’t want to reveal your identity I will not force but what is your name mister?”
Axis didn’t speak for a minute and said, “I don’t have any name. I have no idea why you apprehended me, but I have not done anything.”
Jorgen just chuckled and said, “It’s not about what you do but what you are capable of. You are a lone Tower Master, people like you cause chaos wherever you go. It is our duty to apprehend you people.”
Axis angrily retorted, “Then why did you not apprehend those beaked bastards. They attacked me out of nowhere and almost succeeded in killing me.”

Jorgen replied, “The fact that Obsidian Order attacked you is enough reason to hold you. They are depraved lunatics but they don’t attack anyone out of the blue without reason.”
As Jorgen was explaining to Axis, suddenly Axis heard a sloshing sound out of nowhere. It was as if a river was rushing towards them.
Jorgen’s face changed at that moment and he suddenly jumped up in the air and looked around. He then brought out a weird-looking box from his pocket and handed it to the lady named Elizabeth.
At that exact moment, Axis smelled wine in the air and his restraints were removed.
In the far corner of the alley, the other two officers collapsed unconscious and a figure appeared in the alley. It was the Wine Monk.
He laughed crazily and said, “HAHAHA, it is nice to see you Watch Tower people bully others.”
Jorgen did not waste any time and signaled Elizabeth to use the box. Elizabeth chanted something and opened its lid.
A stream of stars rushed out of the box and attacked the monk. The monk simply waved his hand and the stars changed their direction.
At this exact moment, Jorgen leaped towards the monk and unleashed a flurry of blows. Jorgen’s fists had dark energy surrounding them. But it looked as if he was missing the monk every time.
The monk furrowed his brows and said, “You Bone Tower people are always difficult to deal with.” He then made a pushing motion from his hand and Jorgen jumped back as if to avoid something.
As the fight was happening, no one was looking at Axis and he saw the lady about to bind the monk with the same spell.
Axis decided to distract her and he slammed into her while her attention was on the fight. Elizabeth was not prepared and got blindsided. She was hurt a bit from the slam and looked at Axis in anger while cursing her negligence.

Elizabeth decided to hold back Axis when she was suddenly struck by Jorgen. Elizabeth reeled from the hit, surprised that her captain attacked her.
Jorgen then vomited and fell.
The monk picked up Axis and said to Elizabeth, “Beautiful girl, don’t worry about your captain. My abilities have made him drunk. He will have a nasty hangover though. I will be leaving with this young man.”
The monk then took Axis with him and they both entered a secluded house in the district. It seemed he was staying in this place and threw Axis on the floor.
Axis was a bit scared as the monk was powerful and he had no idea why he saved him.
The monk looked at Axis and said, “You don’t have to look so scared. If I wanted you to suffer, I would have left you with those stuck-up bastards.”
He then rummaged around the room and handed him a bottle. “Drink this. It's a healing serum. It will increase the healing of your arm and will relieve the pain. After a night’s sleep, your arm will be healed.”
Axis thanked him and asked, “Mr. Ingeram, why did you save me?”
Ingeram looked at Axis and as if nostalgic he said, “When I saw you using dream energy I realized you are a full-fledged Tower Master, that too a Dream tower one. Dream tower masters are almost extinct, and I was not happy about seeing another one wasting his life.”
Axis looked confusingly at Ingeram and Ingeram laughed and said, “I’m just a senile old man living his nostalgia. You should quickly form your first domain or you will stay weak.”
Axis became more confused and asked, “Sir, what are domains?”
Ingeram almost choked on his wine and said, “You still don’t know about it. I thought the legacy you found must have left some explanations. It is too tiring.”
He then explained, “Every tower has 6 domains. Your level and strength are dependent on your domain. As your domain increases, your abilities also become more powerful. There is a lot of stuff you will learn as your domain naturally advances. As of now, you will need special materials and recipes to create your first domain. I could have helped you but I do not know Dream Towers.”
Axis then replied, “I’ll try to research about it but who were those people.”
Ingeram took a deep swig from his bottle and said, “They are the Watch Tower. After this Empire of Silversage was established, the rulers decided to create an organization to monitor Tower Masters. The Watch Tower provides special permits to small and large organizations to operate in their cities. People like you and me are exceptions as I am strong enough to not care and you are weak enough that you have to hide.”
Suddenly a bottle of wine started dancing around Ingeram and he said hurriedly, “Seems like Guardian Dert made here move, Bah, she used to be a beauty but now she is a stern old hag. You should go back to your place and I’ll handle the situation here. If fate allows we will meet again young Dream Tower master.”
He waved at Axis and left the house. Axis got up and removed his mask and went back to his house. This time there were no incidents and he safely reached back.
Axis slid into his room and changed and lied down on the bed. He re-evaluated his entire experience and then drifted off to sleep.
