《The Legendary Martial Artist: Failed Beta》Wen Family

I was reflecting on my situation while looking at the ceiling and it was already dark outside. The good was only illuminated by the light of what looked like a Chinese lantern.
" goodbye, modern technology, clean water, and electric lighting" I could not help but sigh aloud.
I felt the door of the room being slid open and two people stepped inside.
This time I recognized the first one with long purple hair as the young Wen Xia, the young miss of the Clan. I raised my head with difficulty, but it was just enough to see her walk toward me and only stop when she was close. Her blue dress fitted perfectly on her. My eyes paused at her chest area to see the pendant with a purple crystal embedded in it that was giving off a mysterious glow. I assumed that it was an artifact that her master from the sect had given to her. On her swaying hips, I saw whip coiled around her stylish leather belt.
I was not a cold-blooded murderer like the original Sun Chen nor did I have willpower as strong as his; so I gulped secretly at the sight.
It was still wondering even for me whether I was excited by her sexiness or just scared by the dangerous vibe that she was giving off.
She was followed by another woman who looked somewhat older in comparison. She too was a beauty and she was wearing the standard white dress of the servant. She was carrying what looked like a plate with some recipients on it.
The two women decided to sit elegantly next to me on their knees, with Wen Xia close to my head.
" I am here to make you take your medicine," Wen Xia said while taking a bowl from the person I assumed to be her maid at a short distance from her.
The original Sun Chen had been working for the Wen Family for years even then, there was no trace of the woman in his memories. She had only started working for the house.

" Perhaps, he had not even bothered with everything going in the house lately" I instantly thought.
" Young Miss, you did not need to..." I said politely with difficulty as I remembered that it is how I should act when other people were present.
Wen Xia used one of her hands to support my head and put the bowl full of medicine near my lips.
The touch of her hand against my skin was quite refreshing. It made me forget the pungent smell of the medicine for a while. I took it inside my mouth and could not help but frown before swallowing. It tasted as bad as I initially thought. It was perhaps easy for a martial artist to drink a fool-looking concoction like this, it was even a habit a requirement, but for me weak-willed man such, it was difficult, very difficult. The frown was not disappearing from my face.
" Do not worry, I will avenge this humiliation and make that bastard wish that he was dead" Wen Xia said 'reassuringly' with an expression between concern and hate completely misunderstanding my reaction.
I knew that her love was not directed toward me but we're for the original Sun Chen. She will certainly kill me if she knew that I had replaced him, and she will not even let my soul intact.
For this reason, I needed to be careful and act by the contents of my memories.
Luckily, Sun Chen had always been a man of few words, so playing his role did not seem that difficult.
I knew that some years ago, he and When Xia had fallen in love with each other. But despite their love, the two of them were very realistic people so they chose to stop any progress as it was to their relation.
Despite the talent that Sun Chen showed in martial arts not losing to any direct member of the family, not even to the young master, Wen Xia was still more talented than him, disqualifying him as a marriage candidate. for the ambition of her family, she could only hope to marry a powerful man.

Their dream to together become even hazier recently when she got recruited as the personal apprentice of an elder in one of the five mysterious sects in the territory of the neighboring Empire.
I did not feel regretful about this fact, I could not find in myself the strength or the will to abuse the love of a woman.
Trying to be Sun Chen-like, I nodded while sighing as I had never been great at acting. It seemed to relieve Wen Xia.
I finished drinking the third bowl of bitter medicine while the maid-looking woman was looking at us strangely. She had the usual look of someone getting interested as he was seeing animals and insects play together.
Wen Xia was going to stand up when I suddenly caught her hand forcefully. I was still too weak from my accident and almost got jerked away when she tried to shake her arm with strength.
As soon as I touched her a window popped into existence in my field of view. It was a character sheet.
Name: Wen Xia
Race: Human
Age: 16
Class: Martial artist ( ninth level of body tempering)
Profession: warrior
Skills: Snakes coiling the cloud; Jade Hands.
Attributes
Strength: 20, Defence:18, Agility:25, Constitution: 30, Mystic: 29
Web Xia was much stronger than my self even in my former glory.
I had just touched her and the character sheet appeared. It means that the logic of the game was still being applied to this world.
Perhaps I could find a place to grind peacefully until I reached the higher level possible in this world.
Web Xia grunted audibly and it is only then that I remembered that I was still holding her arm in my grip.
She was looking reproachingly at me when she suddenly seemed to remember something. Her body tensed up and she turned toward the maid, fear apparent in her eyes.
I had been too self-centered to the point that I had forgotten the first rule in the relation between Sun Chen and Wen Xia. They could not let more people be aware Of the closeness between the two of them.
The maid in the meantime was looking somewhere around our hand calmy without blushing as if she did not care about what had just happened.
It felt kind of awkward.
"Young miss, I would like to have access to some of the books from the library of the families. My body is pretty much crippled and I hoped to find a way to recover somewhat to be useful to the family" I said trying to sound serious and confident.
I maintained what I assumed to be serious, with a pensive expression while doing so.
Wen Xia nodded in confirmation before leaving.
At that moment I wanted to sit up but the maid stopped me by pressing her palm on my chest.
" chief Sun, I am going to clean you now. I will also apply the medical ointment as the young miss had requested" the woman who seemed prude had first was starting to show a predatory smile on her face.
I could not resist as she undressed me before using a towel to wipe my body.
In the end, she used a strange grey-colored paste to massage my body. I had not been able to feel my legs since I had woken up but strangely under her ministrations, I could feel a mild sensation. I gritted my teeth in order not to moan.
I knew that it was effective as I saw my constitution points increase from five to seven

Fork This Life!
Now we've all heard stories about people who died and were born again with their memories intact. The form of the reincarnator changes from story to story: human, elf, orc, slime, vampire, goblin; you name it, someone wrote it. But what if you were reborn in the most common of houshold objects? What would happen if someone reincarnated as a fork? Involves: merciless fork jokes, monsters, magic n' all that stuff, some profanity, maybe some gore (i'll keep it light), fork philosophy, and if you got advice on where to go next with the novel, comment, coz I only got a hazy outline. Read my other novel here: http://royalroadl.com/fiction/13058/odyssey-of-the-unrivalled

Talius
The two moons of Talius gleam with a hypnotic glow; Araius with the color of a cooling blue, and Kranos beaming in a gentle orange. Arairus obscures Kranos with his enormous celestial body, letting Kranos peek out only halfway. This means that it's the month of Gantelos, the season of cold that hovers over Talius for half a year. It also notifies the residence of this planet that the dreadful Fuune will rise from the deep snow, deep from beneath the crust every night and feast on the humans who inhabit this tundra-infested world. The Lost Archon
One early spring afternoon, sixteen-year-old Reid is going for a walk when he finds a magical occurrence taking him to another world. A world where he is considered an impossible mage - and where he becomes ridiculously powerful quickly. Though he's happy for the adventures he can go on and the friends he makes, Reid also wants to find out how he got there and why, and if there's a way to return home to his parents. Reid's priorities in this new world are learning magic, going on a few adventures, dealing with his feelings for the cute wolfkin Terrence Windfang, and seek an audience with the gods. All but one of them, he finds, is significantly easier than he expected. This is a participant in the [April 2022 Royal Road Writathon Challenge]. The story is also concluded as of 4/26/2022. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1) This is a story about an OP guy doing OP guy things. There will be few fights that he struggles with, and he will rarely, if ever, find his life in peril. 2) This is a slice-of-life and adventure story, which means that there will be periods of chapters without any action or conflict, but also periods of chapters with battles and exploration/adventure. 3) There will be NO petty squabbles or conflicts going on in this story, because it is meant to be a fun one, not a high-tension, drama-filled story. So it will NOT be that. If you want lots of action or lots of conflict, then find another story to read because this isn't it. 4) There will never be an overarching evil/villain/conflict to deal with in this story. Ever. 5) This story will not contain sexual content as it will end after Book 1. As such, Reid and his future boyfriend will never reach 18+ years of age in-story, so they will never have sex in the story. There will also be no harem in this story. 6) This is a part of the Royal Road April 2022 Writathon Challenge. 7) This story takes place in its own story universe, with its own rules. Please keep that in mind when reading it and other stories.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
