11. Bird Attack
“Kid, looks like you got what you wanted, I am hungry…I will be going home” grandpa left even without asking anything.
Shivaay stood up, he wanted to try out what the god did so he went to cut a tree and make a bow out of it. His physical strength was now three times more than before, he slashed the tree in half with an axe which he borrowed from a nearby woodcutter and started making a bow out of it.
After struggling for some time, a poorly shaped bow and few arrows appeared in his hands. He was really proud of his accomplishment, he lifted his bow and shot an arrow with it, its working fine he thought. “Okay, let’s see how you work with my skill” he closed his eyes and recalled the three arrows he saw in his dream. His chakra power flowed into the bow and but only created one arrow, his chakra power was almost drained he won’t be able to hold for much longer.
Shivaay selected a tree as a target, surprisingly a red dot appeared on the tree, without thinking anything he shot. It reached the tree within a blink of an eye; a protective cover appeared and surrounded the tree. A blast soon occurred, the whole tree blew into small pieces, but not even the sound nor the shockwave came was able to come out of the protective cover. Shivaay assumed the skills used by a supreme god will not be low, but such destructive capabilities will even kill a person below Sacral mid-level. His chakra was almost drained with this one shot, he had to think of something to make it more energy efficient, his bow he was so proud of broke as well.
Days passed, one day “Atlast it is successful” a crude looking handgun could be seen his hands. It took him days of hardwork just to find the required materials, surprisingly people here used steel before to make swords but are now replaced with high grade and much durable metals. But for Shivaay with no spirit stones, finding steel was already a good luck.

Next, he had to work on the bullets, the most important component required in bullets is gunpowder. Shivaay read previously to make gunpowder he needed ‘saltpetre’, ‘charcoal’ and ‘sulphur’ in fixed ratio. Charcoal could be made from trees, whereas in his previous world it was mined from the volcanoes and for the saltpetre the most important ingredient, he has no idea how to make it or where to find it.
He previously heard saltpetre were mined near the rivers in the hills, he was already going to a nearby volcano to search for sulphur, he will search for it then. Shivaay took two handmade bow and some arrows and started his journey to the nearby volcano. After walking for two hours he saw a big volcano, twice as big as the biggest one on earth, but it was still medium size here. From the people on the way he heard it was a dormant one, so it was nothing to be afraid of.
He started climbing the volcano devoid of any trees in the surrounding, after climbing for more than an hour he reached the mouth of the volcano. He started digging with the tip of the arrow, yellow coloured rock started to come out, he was elevated. Shivaay didn’t think he would find sulphur rock so easily, he took some small pieces of it and placed them inside his backpack and started climbing downwards. “I have to think of a way to start mining this rock, maybe I will have to buy the entire volcano, but it will cost enormous amount where will I get that much spiritual stones” Shivaay started to feel his financial burden.
A screaming voice could be heard coming from behind, he jumped to the side and rolled over. A big bird just passed the place he was before and flew up once again. “Shit, what was that”. The bird once again came back, Shivaay put one of its arrows in the bow, a red dot appeared on the bird only he can see the dot, while training previously he came to knew that his skills could be used separately. He fired a common arrow; it reached the bird at lightning speed but due to high speed it could only pierce his wings. It screamed at a high pitch, one by one similar looking birds appeared above him, Shivaay was dumbfounded.

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.
