Book 2: Chapter 4.5: Ayayayayayaya!

The next day after an intense night of love making, we were told that Nick left on a mission and we would get details about it later as this day we need to kill something in order to level up and use points to max out our skills.

Being the only responsible one (self-proclaimed) I made sure to keep a cool exterior so that no one would underestimate me or think me weak. Though I was a little bit curious as to what we were going to kill to level up, but we were assured that this was a tried and true method and no harm would come to us.

“W what do you think we will have to kill?” –Hina

“It doesn’t matter, we must kill to become strong so that we can protect that which we love.” –Me

“Aya is right, so long as we are together we can get through anything. This is just another trial that we must pass!” –Hiro

At this point the moderately attractive Guard Captain Joseph came in dragging tree cages, each filled with some type of brown bear that defies all logic.

“These are grizzly bears, they are level 50 and should give you enough skill points with your hero boost. Each choose one and kill it with the weapons that you were given yesterday.” –Joseph

“Where is the princess?” –Hiro

“Why do you care where she is? You have us!” –Me

“The princess is taking a break today she says. Something about teaching you later when you have max skills and understand your powers.” –Joseph

Lazy bitch, I bet she is just asleep or something stupid like that! Not that it matters, it’s best if she isn’t here to tempt Hiro, it’s bad enough she is so much more beautiful than poor Hina (look who’s talking). Oh well, time to get this over with wait what? How come Hina is already done, what happened?

“Hina, how did you kill yours so fast, and why aren’t you affected by the death at all?” –Me

“Wa what do you mean? We were told to kill it, I just used my entry skill and did that. Was I wrong?” –Hina

“No no you are fine.” –Me

Be cool be cool, this is nothing. I wonder how Hiro is doing. Looks like his bear is dead but he is over next to it throwing up. I guess this is the normal response; I have no clue what Hina was thinking. Well I guess it is time to try out my new skill.

HOLY ICE ENCHANT!

With that I took one look at the straight blade that I think is called a Ninjato or something like that. I then move fluidly like water and strike the bear once at the major artery at his neck, then fluidly walk back to my spot.

It looks like nothing happened since it froze over but since my ice is weak it only lasted for 15 seconds before it melted and the bear slowly bled out. Keeping a cool face I sheathed my sword and waited.

“Good you are all done, now you should have 200 or so points to max out your skills. Be sure to max out all your current skills and oh you will need the analyze skill.” –Joseph

“Wait! You can’t send them off without the two most important skills!” –Tiffany

“But I haven’t mastered them so I cannot teach them. That is why you are supposed to be here, being royalty and all.” –Joseph

“Oh that’s right. Teach skills analyze and cultivation to the heroes.” –Tiffany

“Be sure to master those skills as well. You won’t be able to fight the Demon King or anything else of strength until you have at least 100,000 mana through cultivation.” –Tiffany

Not being one to waste time I maxed all my skills. As soon as Holy Ice Sword Mastery was maxed and I learned everything there is to know about my unique skill, I finally understood what I was doing here.

“Okay that’s it for today, go cultivate until breakfast tomorrow as that is when real training will start.” –Tiffany

With that we went to our room and started to cultivate until the sun came up. Cultivating allowed me to really focus my mind and realize how truly cool I am.

The next day at breakfast all was normal until a commotion happened. A Dark Elf female and some type of weird cat like creature walked in the room.

“Princess Valerie so good of you to visit on such short notice. What do we owe this visit for?” –King DeMonte

Before answering she looked at each one of us heroes one at a time before nodding and speaking.

“I’m just here to have a girl chat with the Queen and Princess, it’s nothing really important.” –Valerie

With that the Princess Tiffany had the look of an epiphany and then grabbed her mother’s arm and ran to Valerie to go off to do whatever it is that stuck up bitches do when they have too much time and money.

Oddly the poor little cat just stood there looking around as if not knowing what to do. Eventually it made direct eye contact with me and I realized that maybe this cat is as cool as I am, so I instinctively walked up to it and picked it up. I then walked back to my seat as if nothing happened and started petting it.

This made me remember my life up to this point and what brought me here. My earliest memories are weirder than most, especially since I was fully aware at birth! I also felt like I had memories of a previous life but since none of them made since I ignored them. Especially when I got older and saw how they aligned with video games too much to be anything but fantasy. I mean how many girls dream of being a sword wielding death dealer that is too cool to know her own business freezing and purging enemies left and right! Well I did…

When I was three I was finally able to leave the prison known as my house and start going outside to play with the neighbors. I instantly got attached to Hiro as his house was right next to mine and our parents were very friendly. Hina was always around but she never really talked to us until High School for some reason. We always accepted her as a childhood friend since we were together since we were 3, but she never talked more than a single word at a time until High School! No clue what is wrong with that girl.

I still remember always going to Hiro’s house to hang out because my parents always worked and his dad was useless err umm… a stay at home dad. He would always tell us these amazing stories and even tell me and Hina to take care of Hiro when his journey starts. I would always blush before regaining my cool exterior. It was probably because of Hiro’s dad that I was able to master my face so that I would never get embarrassed at school!

Unfortunately, this caused everyone to call me a Kuudere whatever that is. Sure I was always with Hiro and never got embarrassed when others made fun of me. And so what if my eyes were piercing and cold? Weaklings have no business talking to me, only Hiro and Hina are allowed!

Though now that I think about it, Hiro’s dad must have known this would happen. Sure he told us it would happen but we always ignored him. But the books he made us read and the games he made us play almost feels like he was training us. If it wasn’t for that one book I don’t think I’d have the skills I have now. This book contained the 10 stances of the Holy Ice Maiden as well as magic spells that go along with them. My sword enchant was one of those spells! But that is just the beginning, the games he made me and even Hina play were ridiculous. What type of girl would want to play a nasty rpg with trolls and goblins. If it wasn’t for these though this world would be way too crazy. I mean stat points and status windows? We had those mastered by the time we were 5!

With that thought I almost get a smile on my face, then I look at Hina and realize she has a very jealous look on her face. I’m confused as we already worked out our differences, plus she is scary so I don’t want to upset her. Then I notice she is looking at the cat in my lap and not really me, so I just shrug and let her pet it. Though odd for a cat to have horns, wings and scales. But whatever, fantasy world and all that!

A FEW HOURS LATER

This… this really sucks! I thought I was a cool beauty and a total badass, but I finally understand what training is. I also learned what those simulation rooms were for. We are only 20 and our mana capacity is low so our ability to use mana manipulation to strengthen our bodies isn’t that great. But spending hours fighting level 100 monsters nonstop with just our sword and nothing else is too much! I barely survived just by freezing everything around me when I got surrounded.

Looking around I notice Hiro looks exhausted too but for some reason Hina is over there playing with the cat as if nothing is wrong. Her blades are even shiny as if they were unused! How can daggers look so shiny?!?!?

“Today’s training is over, but you have to continue doing this for the next few days as you cultivate to 50,000 mana. Once there you will be eligible to fight level 100 magical beasts which all know how to strengthen their bodies with mana unlike these weak monsters.” –Joseph

Finally back in our room we had a chance to talk before we started to cultivate the night away. At least cultivation gets rid of fatigue and hunger or else I’d really be upset! Somehow the cat ended up in our room too, no one seems to know what happened to the Princesses or the Queen, neither showed up today.

“Okay girls, now that we are here we need to show our progress so we can see how long this hell is going to take. And why can’t I activate my level 10 skills? I fully understand them but not enough mana, bah!” –Hiro

“That is probably why we must cultivate, mana is not gained much through levels so we need to cultivate our cores to get more mana so we can use our different skills. At best I could use a rank 3 skill with my current mana levels which means each new rank must take 10,000 more mana to cast so at 50,000 we may be able to cast level 6 abilities and spells.” –Me

“Y yes that sounds good. Also isn’t this dragon so cute?” –Hina

“”What?”” –Hiro, Me

“D don’t yell. This is clearly a dragon, didn’t you analyze him? Say hello Voarag.” –Hina

“Hello miss.” –Voarag

“Y you can talk?” –Me

Ugh, lost my cool face, must get it back!

“Of course I can talk, I may be young for my kind but even after 1037 years something so simple like talking I can do.” –Voarag

“That’s not important right now, we need to show our skills and then cultivate until 50,000 mana! Show status and skills to all!” –Hiro

Real chapter should be up within the hour if all goes well. Only one more small side chapter left for this arc of the story. Hopefully all the weird/odd things about Hina will make sense then if you haven't figured out her cliché story yet on your own that is!
