Next day, Sid decided to take a walk around the city. City Z was just an averaged sized city. There was nothing that could grab his attention. As he was not a native of this city, so he was just a bit curious about it that’s all. But because this was a small place, rules were not as strict as some big cities. You could see people flying in the air, which was usually not allowed anywhere in the continent. There were some places where you were not allowed to use your ability unless you had a special identity or you are just strong enough to do that.“Hey, look at that kid.” “He’s so cute” as Sid was strolling around the city; voices filled with admiration could be heard from everywhere he passed through. Although cute and good-looking people were always the center of attention, it was still unusual to get this much attention from everyone. Sid was quite puzzled about it. But he didn’t think too much about it. As he was walking around, he soon reached a place with almost no one around. He looked around and saw abandoned building everywhere. ‘It’s an abandoned area I guess’ Sid thought to himself and turned around to walk away. But just as he was about to go away, he saw a shadow at the corner of his eyes. He turned to look at it, but it was nothing. ‘Strange, was that just my imagination’ he thought. But soon he saw a girl with torn clothes, disheveled hairs and tears in her eyes running towards him. When that girl saw someone in front of her, she shouted with joy, “Please help me! These guys are about to…” but just as she saw 7-8 years old Sid standing in front of him, her joy instantly turned into despair. She suddenly fell down, and started crying. Sid saw this and was quite troubled. ‘Well what should I do now’ he had a good idea about what happened to this girl. But he had no idea how to help her. As he was thinking this, he saw two guys running towards the two of them. They were probably coming after this girl. Sid frowned and thought ‘this is troublesome. I can’t just leave this girl here. I might as well hide her somewhere first.’ He picked up the girl and ran towards the closest building. Although it might to difficult for a little kid to hold someone bigger than them, Sid was no ordinary kid. Because he was unable to use any ability from birth, he used everything he had in training his body. Unfortunately that was of no use against ability users. But his body was still stronger than a normal person, so it wasn’t difficult for him to pick her up. He hid her in the building and leaned in to see if those guys have caught up yet.

He soon heard some voices coming from the place they were just at, “Damn, I can’t believe we lost her. That bitch sure can run fast.” One of them said in frustration.

“There is no way she could’ve run far in a state she was in. She might be hiding somewhere near. Let me take a look.” Another one said in a calm voice.

“Ha, how can she run away from us when we have your detection ability brother.” Other one said while laughing.

‘Damn, I never thought a thug like him actually have a grade C ability’ Sid thought anxiously. He turned to look at the girl who was lying down beside him. Although her face was covered in dust, Sid was sure that she was a very beautiful girl. ‘I can’t let this girl fall in the hands of these bastards’ as he thought this, he suddenly started walking out of the building. One of the thugs who was about to use detection, frowned when he saw someone walking towards them.

“Who is there!?” he shouted.

“I was just passing by.” Sid replied calmly.

“This isn’t a place for a brat like you to be playing at. Go away.” Another guy shouted impatiently and tried to scare him away. But just as Sid saw the face of that guy he was shocked. At first, he planned to do something to bide time so that he can think of a way to deal with them. But now, he forgot all of that as soon as he saw him. Although the other one was not familiar, this guy was none other than the one of the thugs who ganged up on him that night. “What are you looking at kid? Do you want to die?” seeing Sid staring at him, he was angry. But he soon frowned and said,

“why does this Kid look familiar?”

“How can you forget your old friend so soon?” Sid said with a smile on his face. Although he wanted to tear this guy apart right at the moment, he was still able to remain calm.

“Ah! You are the kid from that day. What happened, How you are still alive?” when he looked closely he recognized him and asked shockingly.

“Doesn’t matter. I will make sure that you don’t leave this place alive. It will be a problem if you went looking for cops.” Before Sid could say anything, that guy grinned sinisterly and ran towards him. Although Sid was surprised for a moment, he was still able to respond to his charge. As he threw his fist towards him, he sidestepped and kicked at his chest. As he was underestimating Sid, he never had any guard up, so he was sent flying. That guy suddenly stood up and shouted angrily,

“You dare to hit me! I will make sure you die the most horrible death possible.” Suddenly his skin started to change color. It changed into something resembling the color of stone. This was the grade D ability, ‘Hardening’. While using this ability, skin of a person will become as hard as a stone. With an outstanding defense, it was considered to be one of the most troublesome ability between the D grade ones.

“Alex, stop!”

But just as ‘Alex’ was about to charge at Sid, he was stopped by his partner.

“What? Are you trying to stop me, Harry?” Alex glared fiercely at his partner. Harry suddenly went silent. He knew it was difficult to stop him once he was angry. He sighed helplessly to himself.

“Let’s see who saves you now kid.” Alex grinned and walked slowly towards Sid. But after a few steps he stopped. He frowned and thought to himself, ‘why isn’t this kid running away.’ Although he could see the dignified color on Sid’s face there was no trace of fear in it. ‘It doesn’t matter. I won’t let him leave anyway’ Alex suddenly started running towards Sid. He aimed at his face and said while grinning,

“Kid, I will let you know the consequences of messing with me"

“It won’t go like last time”

Sid laughed as he saw the incoming fist. Just as the fist was about to hit his face, everything went silent. Instead of hitting him, that fist was motionless or to be specific moving very slowly. Sid saw this and laughed to himself, ‘Truly an amazing ability. Although it can’t let me control time as I please I can still make some small interference like this.’ He could only slow it down for roughly 2 seconds, but it was enough for him to dodge it.

“He’s fast!” Harry who was looking from sidelines exclaimed in shock. From his point of view it looked like Sid dodged that punch as it was nothing.

“What’s the matter!?” Alex was getting anxious. He wasn’t able to hit him at all. No matter what he did.

“Damn brat, stay still and let me hit you.” Alex said angrily.

“Sure, as if I will do that.” Sid sneered in disdain. Although it looked like he was dodging all this effortlessly, only he knew that it was extremely difficult to slow down time at the right moment. If he made a single mistake he was done for. ‘It won’t do if I drag this on for long. Time to finish this’ As Sid thought this, he suddenly charged at Alex. As he wasn’t expecting it he was caught off guard. Time once again started moving slowly and a strange purple mark appeared on the forehead of Sid. It looked like a throne of an Emperor. Sid reached out his hand and tapped once on the hand of Alex. Suddenly it vanished. Alex punched towards Sid but it hit nothing. He looked down and saw that his whole hand from elbow down was gone.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

Blood started to flow out the wound like a fountain. One could only imagine the pain after hearing Alex’s screams. As Sid was standing closest to him, blood was all over his clothes. Sid looked at his bloodstained body and thought, ‘I feel nothing. I thought it would be difficult to stand the sight to blood for the first time, but its surprisingly easy. Instead, it felt good.’ If someone else were to hear these thought, Sid will definitely be labeled a devil.

“W-What happened!!?”

Harry who was watching this from the side was shocked. There was no trace of the calmness he showed before. There was only fear. He saw Sid suddenly charge in and then Alex’s hand was gone. “Really?” Alex asked fearfully.

“Do I look like I am joking?” Alex looked at his face and turned around to run away. Alex was relieved to see that Sid doesn’t plan to kill him. But his face lost all its color when he saw Sid smiling towards him. Because of his handsome face, this smile could kill many girls, but to harry it was the smile of a devil. ‘RUN’ this was the only thought in his mind as he started running away.

“You are fast in running away aren’t you?” Alex heard Sid’s voice right behind him. He turned to look and saw him almost caught up to him. “AHHHHHH” he suddenly started shouting as ran desperately. ‘As long as I can escape, I will make sure to pay this back a thousand times more.’ In his mind there were only thoughts of how to take revenge. Just as he was thinking all this, his vision turned upside down, and he saw his own body twists and turn as it disappeared into thin air. “I….” he died before he even knew it. Sid turned towards Harry after Killing Alex. Harry face went pale from fear, when he saw Sid looking towards him.

“Don’t worry, I won't kill you. But you will tell the hiding place of your boss to me, is that okay?” Sid ‘asked’ him with a smile.

“I will tell you! I will tell you everything!! Just don’t kill me.” Harry told everything about their hideout to Sid and why they were chasing that girl. After Sid heard that, he told Harry to bring Alex’s head back to their boss and said to tell them to wait for him. Harry saw as Sid walked away, and thought ‘I can’t believe that idiot offended this kind of devil, I can’t see thorough the grade of his ability’ He sighed when he thought about the fate of those thugs. ‘Well, this has nothing to do with me. I will stay away from this guy in future for sure. He thought as he walked away.
