"Ahh... " Vincent let a faint painful moan. His strength to shout was gone.
His arm was almost all inside the great gray wolf's mouth. Its jaws were biting deeper to lop it off.
The struggle was over, and death was nigh.
Vincent used the last bit of strength to spit in its face. Surprised by this action, the beast lowered its raised crippled leg down.
*Crack
Vincent slowly turned his gaze at the noise.
It was a hazy scene, but clear enough to see.
The injured leg of the beast was crushing Lupa's front legs.
Vincent stared at this scene in denial. Lupa might have died and Ester as well.
Vincent could accept this.
He didn't want to lose anyone else.
Was the power he always sought this weak?
Vincent became enraged.
A burst of adrenaline rush shot as his heart raced like an engine.
Vincent punched the beast's head, but the wind averted its path.
The great grey wolf bit deeper while it enjoyed the human's last struggle.
Vincent kept punching like a possessed person with hatred and rage.
The punching abruptly stopped. His hand couldn't raise anymore.
Vincent used his only working body part. His head.
Like a mad man, Vincent kept headbutting with vicious rage, but the wind armor protected against all.
The great gray wolf satisfied by the performance was ready to bite his arm off.
However, it stopped.
Vincent had died.
His heart had stopped, yet a tremendous amount of heat was escaping his body.
Vincent saw a corrupt and broken error display box before he took the last breath.

Some was readable and most not. However, Vincent didn't have the luxury to read before his heart stopped.
The arm in its mouth was burning up. As if it was on fire.
In a hurry, the great gray wolf bit his arm off, spat it on the floor, then took a few steps back.
It was cautious about what was happening.
The heat was unnatural, and it was growing fiercer by the second.
The once proud beast started to feel fear.
The human was dead, yet something inside of him was not.
*Grrrrr
The great gray wolf was on its toes, ready to fight for its life.
It could feel an overwhelming presence as if it wanted to swallow it whole.
The mark on Vincent's abdomen glowed fierce green.
The bleeding from his left arm suddenly stopped.
Soon a trial of green steam escaped from the stump.
Vincent's body trembled as veins bulged from his body. They weren't blue. Instead, they were green.
Soon, the once dead human stood on his legs.
Vincent took a long and extensive deep breath. It was humanly impossible to do.
More veins bulged, and from the under his fingernails, mysterious green liquid was collecting.
Vincent exhaled and with it followed a heat hotter than summer as it clashed against the cool breeze in the cabin.

The green liquid started to wobble as if alive.
Then it started climbing his fingers, continued rising till his hands were covered. Then it stopped near his elbow.
Half his arm was covered, enveloped by a strange hardened green substance. The same green substance on his body when he arrived in this world.
*Crack
The green skin cracked, and with it, an intense heat followed.
The cracks glowed bright like his mark, and from them escaped a trail of green steam.
Vincent suddenly fell on his knees and supported himself with his one arm.
*Cough
Vincent violently coughed red blood. However, after a few times, he coughed a green substance instead.
As this was happening, the great gray wolf became hesitant. It didn't know if it should fight or run.
Vincent stood up. He took another deep breath and exhaled.
As if Vincent was smoking, a cloud of green steam exited from his mouth.
Soon, two faint trails of green steam escaped from the sides of his mouth.
Vincent opened his eyes.
The great gray wolf trembled at such a vicious glare.
Vincent's eyes changed.
The white in his eyes turned black.
His green iris glowed even fiercer.
Lastly, he had vertical silt pupils, like a vicious predator.
Vincent didn't feel like a human anymore. Instead, like a grim reaper ready to collect its soul.
*ROAR
Vincent let out a monstrous roar with a different voice of his own. It felt like a horrifying hoarse voice of a beast.
Vincent took a step forward, and the once overwhelming great gray wolf took a step back.
Vincent turned his head from left to right while his monstrous eyes trailed behind.
It felt like he had never seen the cabin before.
First, his gaze stopped on Ester. But his expression was still fierce.
Then his monstrous eyes stopped on Lupa. It was seriously injured and at death's door.
*Grrrr
Vincent growled like a mad beast. He felt the retainer bond and considered Lupa as one of his own.
Vincent became enraged, and a vicious bloodlust surrounded the whole cabin.
Vincent tilted forward as if he was falling face first.
Suddenly Vincent sprang forward and shot like a bullet.
The floor underneath his previous location broke with the force of the leap.
The great gray wolf didn't place any trust in its wind armor. It thought it wasn't enough.
It quickly limped to the side and evaded the flying Vincent by a hair.
*Boom
Vincent crashed and made a hole in the wall.
His hand descended, clawed the earth with a firm hold, and left a trail behind till his body stopped.
Such destruction made the beast fear of what might have happened if it didn't dodge.
*Step Step
The great gray wolf raised its ears full awareness. It heard every step the human monster was making outside. On every step, the beast shivered.
Vincent walked inside while cracking his neck. He was ready for another vicious leap.

Vincent felt like he kicked something. Lowering his gaze, he saw Ester on the floor.
His hand descended, then it lifted Ester by the edge of her chest wrap.
Ester could feel an unsupportable torrent of heat. She felt like being next to a fire, about to be burned alive.
Ester became conscious as her survival instincts kicked in. She woke up, and her eyes opened.
The crimson pair couldn't believe what they saw. It was Vicent yet not.
His eyes were dangerous, and the abnormal veins on his face were terrifying to see.
"A-are you... V-Vincent?" Ester stuttered in fear.
The existence feared by people of the world lifted her body as if it was weightless.
Vincent grunted with an angry frown. His head approached her delicate neck and took a whiff.
Like a wild beast, he could smell her hopeless fear; that of a person who could barely move an inch.
Vincent felt like she was no threat. As if he never saw or knew her, he dropped Ester like she was nothing.
The great gray wolf kept glaring the whole time. Soon it noticed a shocking development.
The stump on Vincent's hand was growing at a rapid pace. His left arm was almost regrown.
The great gray wolf felt that the option to run would be the best choice. It wasn't facing a prey, but an enraged predator fiercer than itself.
Vincent crouched down and placing his hand on the floor with a vicious glare.
As he curled his fingers like a claw, the wooden floor was scratched and chipped.
Vincent sprang forward like a bullet, and the floor underneath broke once again.
His hand approached the fur of the beast, but the wind armor was cut like butter under a hot knife.
*Slash
The five green covered fingers became red as they left a trail of blood behind them. From thigh to shoulder, the great gray wolf had five long deep cuts.
*Boom
Vincent crashed into the wall and made another hole. It seemed the cabin might get demolished if this keeps up.
The great gray wolf whimpered in pain. Its impenetrable wind armor was nothing to the monster before it.
Ester kept staring in disbelief.
There were two predators, but only one could win.
However, both winners might kill her in the end.
The great gray wolf was angry, and near it was Lupa. It slowly limped approaching Lupa then...
*Crack
Ester saw the beast crush the remaining two uninjured legs. Now, all its legs were broken.
Ester felt both sad and angry, but the fear of death chained her down.
*Smash
A piece of the broken wooden wall was thrown at the great gray wolf. However, the wind armor protected the beast.
*ROAR
From outside, a vicious hoarse roar echoed in the cabin.
Soon followed Vincent with two hands covered by hard substance and green steam trailing behind him.
His gaze went over to Lupa. Veins bulged in anger, and his face contorted even more. It felt like he was hit in a sore spot.
Vincent paced forward. He extruded a murderous aura powerful enough to make Ester gasp for air.
The pressure was terrifyingly intense enough for the beast to back down. It got covered in a cold sweat at the sight of the monster.
Vincent stood in front of Lupa as he gazed down with a sad yet terrifying face. He dropped on his knee, then his hand slowly brushed is fur.
"Who... did... this... to... you..." Vincent said in a horrifying hoarse voice.
The great gray wolf took this opportunity to attack. It felt like this situation wasn't going to happen again.
*Slash
Green substance spurted like a fountain.
No, it was mutated blood. With it followed a burst of hot air and steam.
Vincent grunted as he brushed his hand one last time. Ignoring the pain, he stood up and gave one last glance at his retainer.
Vincent turned around, and the monstrous pair eyes locked on its prey. The living being that needed reaping was in front of him.
Ester was surprised by this mystifying spectacle.
Vincent stood still as he growled at the great gray wolf. From his wound steam escaped, green blood dripped on Lupa, covering it green.
That was half of it.
The large claw wound on his back was quickly closing. As if he had endless strength to keep regenerating, even after restoring his arm back.
The green blood on his wound was bubbling as if it was boiling. Strangely, the blood that was on Lupa stayed on it.
However, the blood on him and on the floor boiled until it evaporated into nothingness.
In the end, Vincent had no wound while the great grey wolf was slowly losing blood.
The more the fight dragged on, the more disparity between the two appeared.
Vincent charged forward with his arm raised to deliver a strike. His form was full of openings, and the cunning beast took advantage of this fact.
A pair of sharp fangs reached his green-covered skin. However, it wasn't as it seemed.
*Clang
As if biting hard steel, a few fangs broke.
Whatever covered his arms. It was harder than steel since the previous thick shield got crushed like a tin can under its mighty jaws.
One hand was locked. The other one free.
Soon a mighty strike met its head, and the great gray wolf fell down in a momentary daze.
"Did he beat a great gray wolf with one punch? " Ester questioned herself with a puzzled frown.
Then she slowly crawled over to Lupa.
She lifted the half green half white wolf with worry. Ester then took a closer look and noticed something strange.
A smile in surprise crept on her face as she played with its legs.

Anchor Points: Age of Heroes
If you had a chance to reset history, knowing what we know now, would you take it? Six years after kicking an alien expeditionary force off the surface of the Earth back to their staging bases in the asteroid belt, and aided by stolen alien technology, the United Terran Republic Navy has finally achieved enough warship production to put the enemy on the run. Despite the facade of unity projected by the Earth's new federal government, deep cracks still lie under the surface that threaten the stability of world peace and the ability to protect humanity with a unified military response. Within this backdrop, the North American Union, now a mere state in the greater union, has created or reopened multiple off-books projects and black sites to house secrets both old and new that would be far too toxic or dangerous to be known to the wider world at such a delicate stage in world history. One of these secrets will draw Captain Henry O'Toole from his comfortable posting with the Jupiter Fleet straight into a world of conspiracies and secrets that could destroy the new, still fragile world order. Captain O'Toole will take command of mankind's first true starship with a secret mission that would be seen as treason by the new federal government. His orders are to use a prototype faster than light drive to travel through dimensions higher than spacetime and ride the expansion of the universe to create an off-books colony solely for the NAU. There are consequences for escaping time's jealous grasp, which instead position them to have a chance to change the course of human history. Fate has called the Indomitable Will and her crew into the Age of Heroes, will they be able to rise to the challenge?
