《Tarros》Chapter 3 Kyou vs Holden

The large wooden door of the Chamber of Torment opened and a beautiful woman emerged. Her red dress fitted on her beautifully. Kyou looked at the silent and weary Caleb from afar. Surrounding Caleb was the mysterious chains emitting a tremendous aura. Slowly, Kyou approached Caleb. She gently stroked Caleb's pale face and said, "What's wrong? Are you exhausted already?"
But Kyou never heard a response. Caleb only whizzed and barely stared at Kyou. 'There it is again.'
Kyou was having a headache lately. Not because she's sick but because of Caleb's behavior. There was a trace of worriedness on her face, 'If I'm not mistaken this is Caleb's 18,250th day here. And for some reasons, he's behaving differently lately.'
"This is getting boring," Kyou rolled her eyes. She raised her delicate hands and slapped Caleb straight in the face in her frustration. "What's wrong with you?! Why are not talking anymore huh?"
The Chamber of Torment shook and a reverberating noise was heard. It seems the noise traveled far and wide. That single slapped makes Caleb's face distorted.
But contrary to what she expects, Kyou only heard a wheezing sound. "That's it for today's punishment, " Kyou was exasperated. "I've lost my interest in you. Maybe I'll come back later."
Kyou turned around and approached the wooden door inadequately.
'...'
As she gently pushed the wooden door, Kyou felt the sudden changed around her. Kyou could not help but turn. 'What was that?'
Her golden eyes surveyed the entire area, 'Hmph. Just my imagination.' Kyou sighed. 'I'm just tired. Really tired.'
She turned around and pushed the door again.
*!!*
Suddenly, the Chamber of Torment shook violently and the atmosphere drastically changed. In an instant, the air seemed to freeze. Kyou halted and felt it.
'This?! This is impossible,' There was a sudden shocked on Kyou's face as she turned her head. 'Wh-why? This aura? This is impossible!'
Out of nowhere, Kyou saw a cloud of black smoke emerged not too far away from her. A figure appeared after the black smoke subsided.

"Ho-holden?" Kyou's curled her lips and her beautiful eyes widened in surprise. Holden's sudden appearance makes Kyou's entire body tremble and a chill permeated to her bones.
Holden raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why are you surprised? Am I not welcome here?" Holden smiled mischievously. He ook around the area and said, "This place is quite plain. Well not too bad for a chamber. My visit here did not turn in vain."
Holden has the appearance of an old man. Two obsidian black wings covered his entire body. Two obsidian spiral horns on top of his white long hair. Wrinkles and dark spots were visible on his face and around his arms. Notably, he was standing straight and upright. It was the attitude of someone who was mighty.
"What are you doing here? And how did you get here?" Kyou's anxious voice echoed out. She was confused about what's happening. The Chamber of Torment was a special place created by Shona. Kyou knew that no one can enter this place without Shona's permission.
Holden's demeanor suddenly changed. His dark eyes glowed and his aura leaked out. "You don't have to know."
Turbulence immediately broke out in the Chamber of Torment. It was an abrupt change in the area.
Kyou ignored her surroundings and tried her best to remain calm. She looked at Holden and said, "Don't do it. This place is sacred. If you insist --"
"Insist on what?" Holden warned as he walked toward her. "Do you think you can oppose me? Get out of my sight, or else something will happen to you."
"Don't do this. You need to get hold of yourself, Holden!" Kyou's desperate shout echoed out. "I'm just doing what Nora instructed me to do. I personally want him executed, but I must control myself on sisters behalf. Please, Holden stops making ruckus here." Kyou pleaded. There is no point on killing Caleb.
"You're out of your mind, Kyou! You keep listening to her the entire time. That woman is deceiving you and your sister Fye. I must kill that madman no matter what. This is Shona's last wish." Holden said.

"What are you saying? That is impossible! Nora treasures us so much and we know she will never do that to us. Shona's last wish? Don't make an excuse Holden!"
Holden did not answer back but only return a wicked smile. "It appears Nora brainwashed you and Fye so much. I don't have a choice but to this." Holden leaned his body and dashed forward towards Caleb's position and shouted, "I must kill him. Kill him right now!"
Holden's speed was so fast that he immediately passed Kyou. "I'm reminding you, don't stand on my way."
Holdens' threatening voice inscribed to Kyou's ears. 'Tskk. This is really bad.' Kyou bites off her tongue in frustration. A big magical staff suddenly appeared before her eyes. She grabbed it and began reciting her spell. A bright light flickered on her staff as she finished reciting her spell.
"Light Bomb!"
Kyou swung her staff and swiftly, an intense light darted towards Holden. The flickering light was so fast that it immediately reached Holden! Kyou specifically chose it merely for this.
*BOOM!*
The area vibrated as the Light Bomb hits Holden's back clean and clear. The blast leaves a burnt mark on Holden's obsidian wings.
"Kyou!" Holden clicked his tongue as he looked at Kyou's figure in the distance. His gaze suddenly erupted in rage, pulling out a dark grim greatsword from his waist. The sword gave out a surge of evil that made it seem as if it were the master of the world. When Holden raised the greatsword, the surrounding air started becoming heavy. Following which, Holden gave out a loud bellow as his arms swung the greatsword with all his might. A strong wind, followed by a sword flash swept through Kyou.
*Whoosh!*
"Translucent Shield!" Kyou defended herself by producing a crystal sphere in front of her. The crystal sphere that acts as her shield vibrated tremendously. Cracks appeared in the middle and slowly formed like a spider web. Fortunately, the crystal sphere withstood Holden's massive damage.
Holden was not surprised by it. He did not waste any more time. "Illuminate!" His dark greatsword glowed with an intense golden luster and blast out a golden ray. The light bent in midair and blasted Kyou's eyes.
"GRAH!" Kyou retreated as she covered her eyes in surprise. 'It even penetrates the Translucent Shield!'
"Hell's Purge!" Kyou cast a high tier debuff skill on herself and quickly gaining control of her visions. Then Kyou felt a chill running through his back.
Holden's figure suddenly materialized in front of her. "Light Moon Strike!" Swiftly Holden unleashed one of his destructive sword skill. Holden swung his greatsword embedded with dark energy. It was filled with demonic spirits and menacing dark energy.
"Time Warp!" With her quick judgment, Kyou instantaneously cast a spell. A fiery haze appeared and swiftly enclosed her.
*BOOM!*
A thunderous noise reverberated out. A huge crack appeared on the reflective floor but soon returned back to its original state. Dark smokes rose up so much that encapsulate the entire area. It was even intensified by the emergence of the dark mist. Then dark clouds formed above and thunderous light occurs.
"Hahaha. As expected, your ability to escape is exceptional." A laughed was heard. It was sinister. As if the god death is descended.
'That was close.' Kyou clenched her teeth in disbelief. She successfully teleported and appeared hundreds of meters away from Holden.
'He is serious. I need to do something or else I'm ---'
"Sword of Execution." Suddenly, Kyou heard a sinister voice behind her back. It was too sudden.
What appeared before her was a bright light. Her body instantly became stiff. 'What happened?' Kyou gaze at her body and was stunned. There was a dark colored chains wrapped around her body.

Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all? Is he willing to condemn some for the sake of others? Is he willing to make the right, albeit harsh, decisions? Only the heavens would know. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Additionally, any views and beliefs expressed by the characters are not the author's own. The story is also not an endorsement of any actions taken within. The 'profanity' and 'sexual content' warning tags are there to be safe (and to leave room for potential future changes), but for now these two things are not inside this novel. This is my take on 'cultivation', though it might be somewhat disconnected from the general idea of the genre. Release schedule: Two chapters a week. The cover was created using wombo art. While I believe that creations using the app are in the public domain, if that is not the case, I will take it down.

Elder's Game
In a world set upon by an ancient threat, a new cycle of civilisation competes for power and resources. Amidst the games and politicking of Elder beings, the masses are unknowingly ensnared in plots and schemes that were centuries in the making. At the heart of the world’s workings lies the Tyreal Valley—a land that promises to fulfil the desires of those who seek it. As a haven for the truly strong, the path to this promise is paved more often than not in warfare and blood. To two young stragglers fighting for more than just their own fates, it is left as their only answer. But maybe that’s just what their enemies want. Magic system vaguely similar to GameLit ones (no system nor interface to help), with certain elements that are a bit more analogue. Politics, war, looming apocalypse, a tiny dash of kingdom building, and a minor bit of crafting. There is a bit of a progression element as well as both environmental and cultural exploration. The story follows two youths more directly influenced by aforementioned Elder beings than most. Neither lead cares for politics but certain situations force them into participating, forcing them to make decisions that shape their morality. Initially, the focus is on the male lead as he comes of age in an environment with little scope to change his future, only to be thrust into new circumstances that permanently kill some of his hopes. 3k words every chapter

The Zodians - Book 1: The Outlander
"The past is written by the future. The king shall fall off his throne by thirteen men who have not been born." He is the mad king who tears a whole continent into two pieces without mercy. His reign is over, and now comes an epic of The Thirteen Knights, who sent the death sentence to the Emperor. Who are they? And above all, what they have lost to become such a symbol? Blood. Love. Duty. Comes power, comes responsibility, a wise man used to say. Victory does not create a man, tragedy does. Each chapter is around 700 - 2000 words to make the reading more efficient. The main timeline takes place in 2000 years later from the battle in beginning chapters, when magic is no longer available.
