《Wait… Why is this a Skill? [Dropped]》Alexis Side Story

It’s been a year since Kouta’s death, and I am now on the surface working as an adventurer. My job classification is a mage since I can use offensive magic. While I was doing adventurer work, I awakened the ability to cast wind magic and fire magic. If these two skill combined, then I can use this to create devastating magic.
It took me about three months to get over Kouta’s death, and it might have been that way my whole life, if it was not for Tanura cheering me up. Even if she has a look like that of a leader of a criminal syndicate, she has a heart that is as pure as gold. What transpired in the three months I was depressed, I leave it to your imagination.
Right now, I am on a quest, and was on my way back until this happened.
“Haah… Haahh… Hahh…”
I desperately ran through the forest while avoiding dangerous plants, branches, roots, and areas that can slow my speed.
“Haah… Faster… Run faster… I need to get… away…”
Right now, I am running from a group of people chasing me down. They numbered five and are equipped with equipment used for capturing. They wore hoods so their faces can’t be seen, but I assume that they are slave traders.
Since, I saw a carriage earlier loaded with young boys and girls wearing rags only, and are chained to not let them escape. I’ve had this suspicion about them being slave traders. And it looks like I was right.
When they spotted me while I was on my way back from completing a request, they chased after me while leaving some of their own behind to observe the captured slaves. They mus be illegal traders, ones that delve in the black guild’s dealings.

*Hyuun*
An arrow flew right past me as I ran for dear life towards the town. The arrow missed its mark and landed on a tree beside me. When I took a closer look at the arrowhead, I saw some liquid pouring down.
The arrows were poisoned! One hit with that and I’m a goner!
I ran faster than before and tried to lose them, but who knows how long will my stamina hold. I came upon them just as I was heading back after finishing a subjugation quest so I am completely exhausted.
I saw a boar in my path so I thought of hurling the monster to the pursuers. I grabbed a stone on the ground while running and threw it to the boar.
“Hey!! Over here!!”
The boar went into a frenzy and charged towards me. Its size was about a grown up pig. I charged towards me, no holds barred, with great momentum. Just as it was going to hit, I shifted my center of gravity to the right and dodged it by a hair’s breadth. Next, I used my staff and tripped it down and used wind magic to propel it towards a robed pursuer.
The boar went flying to the robed man and crashed with him. The boar quickly got and this time, assaulted the robed man, turning him into a pile of flesh.
The wild boar is a notorious monster for being quick to change targets and its monstrous strength. Based on the adventurers guild, it has a base rank of D and is C rank when in packs.
Judging by the brutal mauling, my pursuers were no more than E rank. I could take on an E rank adventurer, but I can’t fight against multiple opponents at once. I am just a D rank adventurer, and also a mage that uses spells that have long incantations so please spare me.

The other four became raged and pursued me even more aggressively than before.
This is bad, if this keeps up, I will literally be caught by them. As I searched for a method to escape from this situation, a person came into view. He had white hair, a toned muscular body, and radiant golden eyes. On his waist, he had a short sword, and on his left arm, he held a kite shield.
When he saw me running from some suspicious robed men, he sprang into action. First he dealt with one man with a clean slice using his sword, bisecting him in half from the head to the crotch. One other robed man attacked him with his mace, but was avoided by the mysterious man with a light step to the left. During this, he spun and, using the centrifugal force, cut into the man, beheading his head. A blood fountain erupted from the corpse as it lifelessly crashed to the found.
I was just staring at the magnificent display of coolness and coldness of the scene. He wasted no actions and used the minimum required movement to deliver clean killing blows. But there were two left.
One was the archer who shot the poisoned arrow at me when I was running. He readied his bow and let the arrow fly towards the white-haired man. With a sound as if cutting through air, the arrow was sliced in half from the arrowhead to the tail. The next moment, the archer was also bisected in half, the same as what happened with the arrow. Blood and innards scattered on the ground, painting the grass red.
Was that magic? But, I didn’t sense any indications of using magic. As I am a mage, I can clearly know if someone uses magic.
The last one became terrified at the deaths of his comrades, and tried to run away. But, his escape was cut short as the man took in air and released a breath of flame, turning him into charcoal! Actually, not charcoal, not even ashes. His body was erased from the face of the earth, along with the items he had on his hand.
… What was that? Was that a high level magic spell? As I was pondering about what kind of magic he used, the white haired man came closer to me.
“I finally found you, Alexis.”
Something inside me told me that I knew this person, but who? I searched my memories if I was able to meet any person with pure white hair, and golden eyes, but none came to mind. Just then, the memory of a person with black hair and black eyes went through my head.
No way… Don’t tell me…
“Nii-san…?”
The man, Kouta showed a smile as radiant as the sun while he nodded at my response. Tears ran down my face as I finally met with the person who I fell in love with back in the dungeon.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Obligate of a Self-Ordained Sorcerer
Come join the Discord! It was a typical late-night friday for Mara, secluded in her apartment in front of a digital expanse, relentlessly mashing code into a keyboard. An introverted workaholic, but this was what she wanted - what she had strived so hard to achieve. So why did she feel so lost? Her life was productive, comfortable, satisfying. Plenty had it worse but she still felt... ungrateful? Stunted? The right word escaped her, but she could feel the general revelation settling upon her. With it came a choice that would set events in motion far beyond the meager scope of a 'New Game+'. So taking an intrusive portal to god-knows-where, Mara will come to find that her new world offers boons and banes with equal abandon. Magic, skills, and unforgiving difficulty. For a frail human shut-in, finding herself stranded in the middle of a sprawling dungeon was one of the least desirable outcomes. Food and water would be the least of her problems, why oh why couldn't she just get summoned by some pervy king to slay a demon army or something? This is a story of magic and adventure with skills and stats galore. A litrpg / isekai epic that I've been inspired to make after years of wonderful works like "So I'm a Spider," "Rimuru the Slime," "Azarinth Healer," "Negima!?," and plethora of other isekai and fantasy novels and animes. Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.
