《Try Me!》Volume 3 Chapter 19: Another Floor

Now, how do I tame it? And even if I manage to tame it, can I bring it out of the dungeon with me? For some reason, it approaches me on its own. And as it gets closer, it starts to shrink down to my size. That was unexpected.
But just as it was about five meters distance, it suddenly gallops toward me. As it reaches me, it passes through me and something hits me away.
I think it is testing me. It circles around and starts to gallop toward me again. This time I stand my ground and close my eyes. Once again, I feel it pass through me but this time it doesn’t push me away.
And I open my eyes and it is standing in front of me.
“Did I pass the test?”
He nods at me. I reach for his head and he lowers his head for me. His flaming mane is not hot but soothing to touch.
“Then I name you Noir.”
And as soon as I uttered out his new name, he disappears. And I hear a familiar sound.
DING!
Nice.
I enter my Soul Palace and look at my interface.

After checking out his stats, I go to my fourth door and open it.
GRRR!!!
I hear Fenrir growling as soon as I open the door. I enter room and see Fenrir and Noir facing each other.
“Calm down, little one.”
Fenrir looks to me and cancels his avatar. I last entered my fourth door when Fenrir fully woke up. Now I get why my egg is being saturated. This room is looking dark.
I think Fenrir’s darkness mana is saturating this room. So, I guess I need to separate Noir and Fenrir’s living space.
And as soon as I though that, new wall raises in the middle of the room. Well, I guess I can do this. And this white room is kind of dull.
I don’t know how Fenrir manages to stay here all the time. I go to Noir and touch his head and close my eyes. And I try to reach for the bond that exists between us.
I started sensing that long ago between Fenrir and me. So, I decided to try it out with Noir. And as I reach that bond, the surrounding around us changes.
It turns into lush green pasture. Hehe, I guess he is horse after all. After changing Noir’s living space, I go to Fenrir’s. And once again, reach out to our bond deep within.
This time it turns into place where I first met Fenrir. That part of The Forest. Where I first saw Fenrir following his mother and siblings.
“I guess you miss you family, huh?”
He looks toward me with sadness in his eyes and simply nods.
“Don’t be so sad. I know I can’t do anything about those who already left us. But I will promise you this: I will never leave you alone in this world. Okay, little one.”

And once again, he simply nods.
After that, I exit my Soul Palace, pick up the medallion and put it into the indentation. After I put the last medallion in the indentation, the table starts to sink into the ground.
And new mist gate materializes over where the table was. Ooh, I hope this is the gate to the next floor.
I touch it and the same crap happens.
………
Well, at least the scenery changed. Right now, I’m standing in front of the giant castle gate. Gate is open, drawbridge is lowered. Outside walls are surrounded by perpetual fog. Don’t want to know what will happen if I wander in there.
I look to the city walls. About ten meters tall, looks like a medieval castle wall. But there is something about this city. Just from looking at from outside, I’m sensing something malignant.
As if there is a curse upon this city. And the smell, it smells like a wet mutt. Okay, let’s explore the city, shall we? Hehehe.
I cross the drawbridge and enter the city. And as soon as I set foot inside the city, the drawbridge closes behind me.
So, I guess I’m trapped here until I kill the boss. Okay then, let’s see what is waiting for me in here. I go down the street. This place reminds of Trin city. Typical medieval age city. But problem is: I don’t see a single soul in sight.
There is a big castle in the back of the city. And I think I can safely assume that the boss is over there.
………
Shit, I have been walking along the main street for two hours now. I haven’t encountered single life form and the fucking castle is not getting near at all.
Fine, I guess I need to go around this city and kill whatever I encounter to reach the fucking castle. So, I take the first street on my left side that leads somewhere else.
Narrow gap between two houses. And I get out of the gap and see an open space before me. I think it is someone’s backyard. But that is not the important thing, what is important is: there is a bipedal wolf standing in front of me.
I mean claws, teeth, snout and fur. The whole package. In other word: a fucking lycan. This is awesome.
“GRRR!”
It looks toward me and growls at me. And I see it eyes. Only brutality and hunger. Hehe. Apparently, I was wrong. This is not a lycan. This is a fucking werewolf.
But I guess being a primal beast is saving its ass right now. Since it is not pouncing on me immediately. I think its survival instincts are keeping it from attacking me carelessly. But his hunger is making him hesitate.
If it attacks me, he might die. But if it doesn’t, it will starve to death. Ooh, what a dilemma. Anyway, let’s see what it will choose.
“ROAR!”
Well, that didn’t take long. It roars toward me and pounces on me. As soon as it enters my range I push toward its throat and strangle it.
Now that I noticed it, I think I grew a little bit. Last I checked, I was 1.9 meters. And I think now I’m almost 2 meters. Cool. Hehe, you know what they say, right? Reach for the sky.
And this werewolf is at most 1.85. So, its like a kid in front of me. It flails in my arm but fails to achieve anything. I simply extend my hidden blade on my wrist and it fall in puddle of its own blood.
Wait a minute, why isn’t it disintegrating to dust? After falling and stopping to breath, it suddenly starts to squirm. After few seconds, it starts to transform back into human. Hmm, it was a dude apparently. And only after turning back into human does it disintegrate.
Okay. After taking care of that, I walk down another street and start to explore this city. Now I wonder, is this city full of werewolves?
