《Try Me!》Chapter 33: Fight

“Seriously, you are simply waiting for your death like that?”
Suddenly I hear a mocking word from a very familiar voice. As I open my eyes, I see the devil looking to the door of the main hall. I look back too and see 47 walking toward us with his usual look in his eyes.
Orlin pulls me back and brings me next to the pillar of the castle. Devil ignores us as he keeps looking at 47.
“So, you are Albatras, huh?”
He asks while looking at the devil. Devil simply stays quiet.
“So, you are responsible for destruction of my circle?”
“I take it that you are Albatras?”
“Indeed, I am.”
“Then who is he?”
He asks as he points to the devil.
“He is Abrax, a devil. And Abrax what are you waiting for? Kill him.”
Devil jumps into action as soon as it got its command and lunges at 47. 47 looks at the devil and black armor starts to cover his body.
BANG!
As they collide, ground near them shatters.
“Finally, someone who fights like a man.”
BOOM!
47 says that to the devil and punches him in his guts with explosion. Devil gets thrown backward and smiles at 47 like he found a worthy opponent.
I can’t see 47’s face but I’m sure he is smiling behind his helmet too. None of them uses any weapon. Just dishes all they got through their fists.
BOOM!
BOOM!
As they exchange blows, their blows cause an exploding sound every time their fists collide. This is kind of scary. And I’m supposed to be a strongest berserker in the dukedom.
I know that devil is simply brawling, but 47 seems to be using some kind of martial art stances I don’t recognize. He is fighting with light and quick footwork and jab, cross and hook to his opponents head. Every time the devil got hit by 47, he gets momentarily dizziness and gets back to the fight.

As I watch 47 fight, this fight becomes learning experience for me. His every move is orderly, quick and light. He circles around his opponent with his light footwork and as soon as he notices some opening, he hits his opponent with power and precision.
Soon devil understands that he can’t win by brawling with 47 and brings out his flaming sword and starts to wave that thing around.
BOOM.
BOOM.
Every time 47’s gauntlet and the devil’s sword collide deafening booms echo through the hall. As the fight goes on devil starts to get pushed back.
BOOM.
BOOM.
As the booming sounds get louder, I see 47’s gauntlets get kind of blurry.
BOOM.
After another booming sound, they make some distance between them and simply glares at each other. I think this fight is getting to the finale.
They lunge at each other. Devil swings his sword horizontally by 47’s neck. 47 squats down and the sword passes over his head and he immediately counterattack with uppercut on the devil’s chin.
BOOM.
With deafening boom his uppercut connects with the devil’s chin, devil get thrown upward and hits the ceiling and falls down. After falling, devil struggles to stand up. While he was struggling 47 jumps and land on his guts with his heel and embeds the devil even deeper into the ground.
Surprisingly, this time his kick didn’t make any kind of sound. Devil’s body simply digs deeper into the ground. Now I’m sure that the devil is unconscious as he stops moving. 47 stands over him and takes a stance to hit him in the head and finish the job as his right arm starts to get blurry.
“Are you sure about that?”
Albatras speaks. 47 looks to him.
“Why would I hesitate about killing this dude?”

“He may be a devil now but if you kill the devil now, Abrax will simply go back where he came from. But the youngest son of the archduke will die at your hand.”
“Oh, so this was that kind of crap. This dude is what I felt beneath the boy when I first saw him. You put the devil inside a boy to summon it for your goal. And at the deciding moment you summoned the devil to do your bidding. In this case get rid of the guild masters if they got in your way. Is that about right?”
“Yes, you are right.”
“And I’m sensing some kind of similarity between you and the second prince Tirin. I take it that was you under his disguise?
“You are right again.”
“So, I guess it is safe to assume that he is dead?”
“You are three out of three.”
“And you kidnapped all the residents of the city, right?”
“Four out of four, you are good.”
“But you made a mistake. You believe that I care whether the boy lives or dies.”
“You are right again. You may not care, but what about them.”
He points to us and after that he points to the Archduke and the Duchess. Indeed, I can’t let the youngest prince die, now that the second one is dead and the oldest is missing.
47 looks at us.
“47 can you save the prince?”
Orlin asks. 47 looks to her.
“I may be able to do something. But it will take a lot from me. And I have no reason to do it.”
“Adventurer Alder I give you an involuntary quest to save the third prince from the devil’s clutches.”
As my wife says that I immediately gets what she wants to do, so, I go along with her.
“Operative 47 I give you an involuntary mission to rescue the youngest prince.”
He looks at us and starts to rub his fingers. I suppose he is asking for a compensation for his troubles.
“What do you want?”
“I want a storage item. I know both of you got those. Give them to me.”
My wife takes of a ring on her left index finger and throws it to 47. I take of a necklace around my neck and throws it at him too.
“That’s more like it. If I fail, I will give them back. But if I succeed, I want my ranks increased in both of the guilds. Is that a deal.”
We both nod at him.
“Deal.”
He looks to the Albatras.
“Take care of him, would ya. I don’t want him killing me while I’m busy with this.
We nod at him again.
After getting our confirmation, he looks to the devil and puts his hand on his chest and closes his eyes. After few seconds, devil starts to turn back to the third prince.
But 47 still stays stationary. I look at him.
“Good luc…, I suppose you don’t need it, huh?”
