《Try Me!》Chapter 13: Door 3

Sound comes from the third door. And the symbol on it change right in front of my eyes to one of human figure from question mark.
I will myself in front of the door and open it. It opens and I see and big white room. Nothing in it. Seems to span endlessly to all sides. I enter and door suddenly closes behind me and disappears. Just as I panic and think where did the door go it appears in front of me. So, it seems all I need to do is to think about the door for it to come out.
As I try to pull the door handle I notice that I got a hand here and a physical body. It seems in this door I got a body and I can actually feel my mana in here. So that means I can actually train and experiment in here. That’s convenient.
First, I try moving my body no problem then I try casting fireball and I manage to cast the spell. Yup, exactly as I thought. And it seems my mana gets resupplies fast in here. Much faster. That will be useful during my training and experiments. But my mana capacity is still limited by my Mana Vessel. So, at most I can cast fireball four or five times here.
Now that I can actually cast spells in my soul space let’s try my first customized spell then.
First, I will my mana into the Spell Matrix and matrix does its job after that I straighten my right hand forward and cast the spell.
Poof.
The result is dismal. All I managed to do was just a little spark and puff of smoke. That was pathetic. It seems it need more than just a little bit of tweaking. It simply shows that my understanding of Spell Matrices and mana is still too shallow.

So, in order to remedy that problem first I need to take a closer look at what Mana is. How do I use it? How can I use it?
Then, to do that I first need to feel the mana in my Mana Vessel. Concentrate on my brain and feel the mana itself. There it is. Intangible, like a fog. Cool to the touch and refreshing.
Doesn’t do anything while in idle state, but if I will it to move it moves according to my will. Interesting. But it does that only in my head. So, it will be useless if I can only control it in my head. That means I need to will it outside of my body first.
I can feel the mana exiting my body but I can’t see anything. And I can still feel my connection with my mana even after it exited my body albeit little bit weaker. Even after I will my mana I front of my eyes I can’t see anything.
This is a strange feeling. Even though I know it is there while not being able to see it. I can even feel it if I touch it. Like going through a smoke. But still with feeling of touch. After making it go about five meter I lose connection. That means I can make my mana exit my body and control it to certain extent.
What will happen if I try to mold the mana into different shapes then. Let’s try something simple first.
Let’s try making it into a box. Visualize a box on my palm. And will my mana to make that shape. I feel my Vessel emptying at fast rate for some reason and only after almost running dry does it stop. And I can feel the small box in my hand still can’t see it. But it did take shape and hardened in palms.

Downside is it takes a lot of mana. It seems in order to materialize and harden the mana into tangible shape mana needs to be compressed and become solid. So, in order to make little cube I required a lot of mana.
But it still changes things. This means if manage to improve my Mana Vessel, I can make my mana into anything.
Okay, I can control normal mana anyway I want in certain extent. Then let’s see what can I do with elemental mana then.
I will my mana into the Fireball’s Matrix and after it gets converted to elemental mana I will it out of the Matrix and manages to control it. Little bit harder than I thought to control but still manageable. I will it outside my body and see a rainbow smoke come out of my hand. Apparently, I can see the elemental mana. That makes things easier.
So far, it’s working the way Matrix is supposed to then let’s try making it ignite. I try willing little bit of my mana to vibrate at a high frequency. And it starts to vibrate, albeit slowly. After a few seconds it vibrates fast enough and sparks then gets in contact with the surrounding elemental mana igniting it and causing a small explosion while almost burning my face.
So, that means elemental mana is combustible. Then that means I can use elemental mana as a fuel for my flame thrower. If elemental mana is combustible how about normal mana then. First will same amount of mana outside my body then make it vibrate at a high frequency. After vibrating for a while, it finally sparks but it doesn’t combust like elemental mana.
I guess elemental mana is more in tune with basic elements like fire, water, air and earth. I’m sure for these four elements but there may be more, like metal. But that’s for me to find out later. For now, let’s try my flame thrower.
First convert my mana into elemental one. Then make it vibrate to make a spark. As soon as a spark appears pump my elemental mana forward. It actually works at least in principle but even though I managed to throw fire it doesn’t have any power. It looks more like a small blow torch. I guess I need to pump my elemental mana with more pressure.
To do that I need to make the exit point as small as possible and push the mana through it. I will my elemental mana to my right hand and imagine my mana going out through small hole on my palm and push it. And it goes out with enough pressure and travels far.
Now let’s try it with fire. Once again, I bring my mana in my right hand but this time before pumping my mana out I let out little bit first and vibrate it to make a spark and as soon as spark ignites I pump my mana out as hard as I can.
And finally, it works it’s supposed to. I see a crimson fire coming out of my right-hand palm and go as far as 10 meters before going out. But my mana runs out and I got no choice but to say goodbye to this cool sight. But still it works. As long as my mana quality and quantity get high enough I can do all I want.
