Chief was standing at the surface entrance when they got back. Tom sighed.
"Hey Chief, let me guess. Someone tied to move it and they got turned inside out."
She didn't say anything as she worked over that sentence.
"Wizard are you telling me I could have been turned inside out?"
Giving her a quick smile.
"Naa, but it could if you made it mad. That's why I put the warning on it."
She looked over at June.
"Is your wizard always this crazy?"
Glancing at Tom and then back at Chief.
"I've developed a liking for it."
The small gnome got a pained look when June leaned against Tom and giggled.
"Would say you two need to get a room, but you already have one. Anyways, Tom read this
rule book. June you may want to read it to, so you can remind him."
Heading them a small three ring binder full of pages. Before going inside Tom asked.
"Hey, you all did work round the fact that computers don't work round me right?"
She had a thousand yard stare. Trying to cheer up as he want on to tell her.
"But everything else still works, for most part. Maybe they can work after I put some velocity on the ship and then power them back up?"
This seemed to get her mind back in working order. She stared to pace back and forth.
"Shit, we haven't had this complex of a project all a long time. The sub was just something to kill time. Then you come along and say 'Hey lets make a space ship that can't ues computers May-Be some of the time'. Now we have to rework the design after working in that damned rock that made everything in the room lighter! We are going to nee-.

Tom bent over and grab her by an arm. In a gruff asian accent as he gestured with his hand to the elevator.
"Go."
Then making a walking animation with two fingers.
"Play."
She ran to the door and opened it and was bouncing from foot to foot inside.
"Come on, come on, come on are you two going down or not?"
As all three of them want down, she was fidgeting and hit the down button a couple of times. When they entered the drydock Tom yelled out.
"Stop!"
He shot out a crushing head into the air. June and Chief followed his gaze to a dark creature in the upper corner of the room. It was traped in a gravity well and doing all it could to get out. Tom dragged it over to him and got a good look at it. A cephalopod like thing with ten arms trying to grab onto anything it could as it spun round.
"I don't know how sent you, but I know you are looking through this thing. You may even be able to feel its pain. So heed my warning. Leave me alone."
Tom closed his head and light flexed round a very small white sun. With a wave of his other head, the airlock opened and the blazing ball shot in the ocean. It bubbled and hissed as it cooled. After closing the airlock doors, Tom said.
"For future designs, work fusion power into lager ships. I'm going to take a nap."

Either way, the pain, suffering, and failures were supposed to be over. I was supposed to wink out, or perhaps take a trip to a lovely afterlife! No, I ended up as a small stone, strapped to a table, while a pimple-faced teenager rubbed my facets and told me how 'lovely' I was. Last time I checked, birth wasn't supposed to be as embarrassing as death!Life as a dungeon core isn't all bad. I like watching lizard love triangles and snooping on militaristic dwarves; though there is that issue where I'm trying to free myself from the entanglements of the Gods....ok, yeah that last one is a bit of a problem.
