"Dad, this is Tom. Tom, this is my dad."
She slowly grabs the barrels of both guns and moved them away from the two men. Her dad looked down at her arms and them up to her face.
"June, did he make you change yourself? Just to prove your love to him or something?"
Her face turned a bright red.
"What? No, you don't understand, it's not like that at all."
Tom cleared his throat.
"I was the one who got her out of the lab that did this to her. We should get inside before anyone sees her."
Tom's paranoia
'or me.'
June's dad requiring a second to work over that bit of information and then grumbled.
"Come on in. I'll get your mother out of bed, but you're on your own if you are going to give her that story."
The three of them want inside. June's dad set the loaded shotgun down by the ornate door. Tom being Tom, secured the door and then looked out the window next to the door. Not seeing anyone he uncocked the revolver and carefully put it away. June's dad observed Tom as he did this.
"Does your boyfriend always keep a gun at the ready?"
Both Tom and June said yes at the same time. Tom was about to add something, but heard June's quills chime back and forth as she gently shook her sleek head at him. Tom rolled his eyes.
"Ok, I'll let you tell them"
June's dad walked up the stairs with a hand waving in the air and repeated.
"On you're own."
Tom patrolled round the first floor of the house checking that the windows are locked and any other doors. There were a living room, kitchen, dining room, a small study and bathroom. As he got done checking the back door, June popped in kitchen form the living room.

"Would you stop walking round and looking at all the locks? It's not normal."
Muttering something about not having a good perimeter, he followed her to sit down in the living room. Tom set his bag next to him by the couch. She seemed to be thinking about something, but Tom didn't feel like bugging her about it. Not too long after sitting down there was a female voice that yelled "June!" from the stairs. She got up and strolled into the hallway. June's dad came in the living room to turn on the News and sit down. The two women already talking a hundred miles an hour moved from the hallway to the kitchen. Jimmy looked over at Tom and said.
"It should be some time before you get your turn with the Spanish Inquisition."
Watching the TV as Tom replied.
"Yeah, go'n be fun times."
The two of them got quiet and relaxed as the News droned on. It was about ten minutes when a Braking News Report ran across the TV. There was a picture of Tom with missing under it. The reporter started to talk.
"We just got a new lead on this missing persons cases. He was identified at a 7-11 with a unknown Mamono round twelve-thirty at night. We believe she is the kidnapper."
As the reporter said this last part, a video of June was played showing her hitting Tom in the store and a sketch artists drawing of her.
"We do not have any I-D for this woman. If you have any information, call this number. Any tips that helps find this man will be rewarded."
Tom was about to slyly say something when June's dad changed the channel and without looking at Tom said.
"You're not here and our daughter hasn't talked to us for all most a year. Thank you for bringing my little girl home by the way. It's been a long time and her mother was missing her."

Typically doing what most guys would do when they find themselves in a touching moment. Tom nodded and replied.
"It was no problem."
As a football game was playing on the TV, June and her mom went up stairs. About twenty minutes had gone by when Tom was starting to fall asleep on the couch when June's mom came in the living room and June behind her.
"And you're the knight in shining armor who rescued my little princess."
Tom looked over at June who was wearing a blue dress with modified shoulder straps that wear tied together. Then back at her mom and still some what sleepy said.
"It was nothing ma'am."
June's mom seemed surprised.
"He says it was nothing, June you got a keeper here. Now tell me all about you.
Tom's paranoia
'It's going to be a long night.'

Dungeon Crawler Katia
The aliens killed everyone on Earth...almost. Every structure, from the Taj Mahal to the lowliest lobster trap, vanished into the earth, killing everyone inside. The survivors were given a choice: Endure on the surface without food or shelter or tools, or descend into a world-spanning nightmare dungeon that is also a reality TV show. Katia, an art professor from Iceland who has given up her humanity to transform into a shapeshifting doppelganger, meets up with Carl and his cat, Donut. Together, the three fight to survive in a dungeon filled with Clarketech goblin murderdozers and pyramid-scheme fairy moonshine-makers. The above is, of course, describing Dungeon Crawler Carl. With DoctorHepa's (the author) permission I'm posting some fanfic to expand on Katia, one of the secondary characters who started off not getting as much exploration as I would have preferred. I started off writing chapters that matched up to canon except from her POV instead of Carl's; that lasted a couple of chapters before going off the rails and spinning off into a completely new story, which suggests I should really go back and renumber all the chapters as soon as I find some tuits.
