《The Heavens Shall Fall》Chapter 82: Flames

After he remembered Ji Chanmings words, he quickly focused on what he seek and used his determination to try to break through the next realm.
"If I did not lose parts of my body, it would have been hard for me to realize how to actually shed my mortal flesh.
"Also, there might be a possibility that I would be unwilling to give it up!"
Quickly, he started to again repel the distortion of space around him. But, this time he was allowing it to slowly consume him.
He knew that he was slowly dying, however his eyes was still filled with determination.
"I believe normal method to shed mortal flesh takes a long time. However, I have no luxury to do so. For the sake of surviving, I will shed it forcefully!"
Starting from his already missing legs, the distortion began consuming his body. It was as if a monster was taking large bites at him slowly eating him without mercy.
Even though half of his body was already gone, Ming Li was still full of life.
While his mortal flesh was dying, his soul flame inside his core was starting to burn even more. That was what kept him alive.
Not much time passed by, and even his ears was also gone. Quickly, half of his upper body was also consumed and half of his head was already missing.
Only one eye was left in him but it was still clear, clearer than it has ever been.
Also, each time his body was being consumed, the pain he felt became lesser. It was as if the whole process of his body dying gave him more enlightenment on stepping into the Soul Realm which gave him more life.
Strangely, even though more than half of his body was already consumed. His core remained floating in its previous position unaffected by the distortions of space.
Also, it emanated a weird sensation as if something would come out of it.
The space continued to rip Ming Li's body apart. He was not doing anything to block it. This time even his head had gone missing and only a piece of of flesh in his chest was left with his heart still beating.
With only his heart and core left, Ming Li could now be considered dead. However, his heart was still beating normally even though it wasn't pumping any blood.
Right below it, Ming Li's core floated with a strange glow that caused a thin layer of flame to cover it completely.

Thump.. Thump.... Thump...........Thump..
With his heartbeat slowing down, the flame grew bigger and suddenly erupted, devouring his heart and turning it to ash.
Uncontrollably, it twisted and rippled, creating an image of a human to materialize from its flames.
The human seemed to be sitting crossed legged calmly, even completely covered with flames.
The body slowly breathed causing the flames covering it to move madly. With a single breath, its body clearly became more refined and emitted amazing energy which signigied a great bodily strenght from it.
When the flames settled, it took its second breath which made the flames erupt again. Within the flames, Ming Li suddenly gained complete consciousness and slowly opened his eyes. His eyes shone with brilliant light as his consciousness became greater than its previous state.
With him now completely aware of the changes occurring to his body, he quickly took his third breath making life control for natural energy step into the next realm.
Excitement filled him, then he took another breath completely making the flames dance wildly. This time, he suddenly felt his life force exploding from within, doubling his lifespan from its previous state at the Fusion Realm.
He never thought that the changes would be so great, so again with the fourth breath, his veins became more durable and could now easily handle the demonic energy inside his core.
In his fifth breath, the flames around him became slightly thinner, and his body was now more visible from the outside. However, the change this time was not physical change, It was his mental strength that increased several times.
With all of the five changes, his eyes gleamed with determination and took a deep sixth breath! For some unknown reason he knew that once he took this, he would completely step into the Soul Realm.
The distortion around him stopped for a moment, as the flames surrounding Ming Li was completely absorbed by his last breath at the Fusion Realm.
All of the absorbed flames settled in his core as it ignited it with black flames. This time Ming Li laughed uproariously while focusing on forming his new core.
Suddenly, he noticed something, his core was changing size! It was becoming larger than its previous state.
Also he noticed that his organs were completely different than its previous state. It was close to the mortal body. However, his new soul body was focused on his core. It seemed like this time, his source of life was none other than his core. And it occupied a large space in his dantian.

His core continued its slow growth making his body tremble and excitement filled him.
The growth continued until it stopped at six inches! He doesn't know if this is a great change. However, he was sure that it was something that could be useful someday.
When the core fully formed, the flames surrounding Ming Li was also gone completely.
With a wave of his hands, he was completely covered with a new robe. Quickly, he scanned his surroundings with his consciousness and again began to suppress the distortion.
This time, he was able to suppress it more. It felt a bit easier and he felt that his life was not in danger anymore. However, he was sure that if he venture longer in the space he would still surely die.
With the rift still existing in front of him slowly closing, he glanced at the surrounding space, then a viscous grin appeared in his face as he said "When the time comes, I will completely take control of this space distortions and know the secret in this place!"
Then without hesitation, he entered the already closing rift and exited the space.
...
On an area far away, Ming Li was floating a feet above the ground while looking around. His body was taller than its previous state, and his muscles were more refined now.
His weak appearance was completely gone and and air of strength now emanated from him.
This time, he was completely beyond mortals. His body was not even that of a mortal. It was completely made from his own soul.
Also floating a feet above the ground made him feel that he was now really above ordinary humans.
"I almost died there!" Ming Li said with a bit of fear.
Ming Li never thought that his understanding towards space would save him this time. However, even with his understanding, the terror he felt after being subjected to the extreme change in space was too great.
"That was a close one, I never thought that I could step into the next realm in such circumstance."
Then he looked back at the Holy River with a deep gaze and a hint of obsession.
"Surely, next time I enter that place, It would not be the same."
The place he landed was actually a forest around 100 kilometer away from the Holy River Tribe.
At this distance, the river was still visible, however, he was sure that at such distance he could now easily escape the grasps of the tribe.
Also, now that he has the ability to fly, his movement won't be restricted by the terrain anymore.
Ming Li carefully looked at the sky then he quickly shot himself up at amazing speed. The air surrounding him was split apart as he stared straight at the sky where he was headed.
1km...2km...3km... He shot at an amazing speed which exceeded his expectation. Only after several minutes, he quickly reached 6km which was where the clouds were located.
When he shot above the clouds, the sky was completely blue. However, when he pushed further. He was shoved back by an invisible force which was impossible for him to fight back.
"So this is the limit that I can reach."
Far away, he can see a black mass which was probably a void that was covered in complete emptiness.
Based on what Ji Chanming told him, those seekers who can reach Heavenly Realm can travel beyond the void and reach another plane. So he was curious of how far can someone on the Soul Realm fly.
"I wonder what it looks like in that void." Ming Li's eyes gleamed with curiosity as he stared at the barely visible void for hours.
After three hours, he said "Someday, I will definitely find out!"
Then he shifted his gaze below, and flew down at incredible speed. This time he was attempting to get as far as he can from the Holy River Tribe.
Even though he was already at the Soul Realm, the tribe could still capture him if his location was found out.
"Before the tournament starts, I need to hide and look for the location of the tournament. They said it will be held at the Blue Dragon Sect. Maybe I should look for that place first."
Ming Li now changed direction and shot towards a town nearby to get some information about the sect.
Only after a few hours, he arrived near the town. The town was familiar to Ming Li; it was none other than the Ten Mountain Valley.
