《The Heavens Shall Fall》Chapter 70: Conclusion

"Who am I?" The woman asked. With a single question, her voice swept the entire battlefield which causes the land to quake, the wind to move violently and the sky to dim. Even the shield of the guild quickly shattered. Slowly, the mountain below crumbled as many guild members died. Again, she looked around lost in thought then looked at her hands. Afterwards, she looked at Ming Li. In Ming Li, she strangely felt her own demonic energy. Upon feeling the familiar energy, she unhesitatingly stretched her hand trying to grab a bit of those energy. Upon gabbing just a tiny bit of energy, she suddenly shrieked causing massive earthquake which created numerous cracks in the land where lava sprayed out. The crumbling of the mountain also hastened as the entire geography of the area quickly changed. Because of the small energy, she saw a piece of her memory which made her soul pained as if she wished to die once more. She then waved her hands causing a huge gale of wind to sprung up pushing everyone away! Then she screamed once more and made a claw like motion slicing the space in front of her. A gigantic rift in space appeared in front of her, after which she forcefully stood up a bit shaky and quickly entered. When the woman entered the rift it did not close, instead it exhibited a strong force pulling anyone near it into the rift! The dead bodies of the seekers who maintained the array were slowly pulled by the rift. Ming Li was also pulled by it! With his weakened state, he had no way to fight back from the immense force of absorption. Great Elder Gu who was several hundred of meters away noticed that Ming Li was being sucked by the rift, his face showed signs of concern as he rushed forward trying to help Ming Li. But before he reacted, the Crystal Leaf Sect leader already tapped his hand on the last giant Crystal Leaf shattering it into pieces. The shattered pieces turned into a giant ball of lightning. Which then shot towards the rift turning into a lightning dragon with the intent to destroy the rift! Ji Chanming also gritted his teeth, he was the last to react but he did not held back one bit on trying to rescue Ming Li. Ming Li saved his life, so he was prepared to die just to protect Ming Li. By gripping his spear and pulling it back, he threw it towards the rift with amazing force. It easily sliced the air and flew at unimaginable speed. The speed it flew exceeded the lightning dragon which proved that the spear was something really incredible. Actually, the spear was his most beloved treasure besides the golden plate. He did not give it to Ming Li since Ming Li could not wield such a terrfying weapon at his current streght. However, with the situation, he did not hesitate to risk his most precious weapon to save Ming Li. BOOM! The spear collided with the rift which caused a thunderous sound to spread out. However, only after two breaths after the collision, the energy of the spear disappeared and the spear was sucked into the rift! The suction force of the rift got stronger since it was nearing its end. Ming Li's body started to float on its own towards the rift when the force increased several folds. The lightning dragon roared as it was almost upon the rift. Great Elder Gu was also only a step behind the dragon when Ming Li's arm entered the rift, next half of his body, then he was fully swallowed by the rift! Only then did the dragon land on the rift creating an explosion as large as the previous one causing it to distort and almost shatter. However, it it did not shatter, instead it remained there distorted creating several curves. Great Elder Gu was slightly injures by the explosion, but it did not stop him. He tried his best to get in front of the rift and try to pull out Ming Li, but he was too late! The rift closed before he could even put his hands in it. Their expressions fell as they looked at the space where the rift was located. The platform where the altar was located also started to crumble and fell down the ground. Great Elder Gu had a deep expression in his face as he silently floated in his location. Ji Chanming looked gloomy as he clenched his fist tightly and gritted his teeth. Even the Crystal Sect Leader sighed as he hovered unmoving. The battlefield became silent, many were injured, and thousands died. With the change in terrain caused by the woman and the flowing lava everywhere, the fight was put into halt. All of the leaders of the Black Spider Guild died and the few remaining elders were injured. All of their hidden weapons were already used and even their shield were shattered. The remaining guild members had lost all of the will to fight. Some have fled, and some remained looking up shocked at everything that happened. "Do you still want to continue?" The Crystal Leaf Elder said while looking deeply at Ji Chanming. "Seems like the boy is a member of your sect. Because of that, I have no further interest in this fight. However, it is not for me to decide if the war will continue. Our Patriarch should be the one to pass the orders. As for me, I leave now even without the approval of the Patriarch." He then took one last dejected look at the previous location of the rift before flying away from everyone. Great Elder Gu also did not say a word and simply flicked his sleeve, as he flew away together with his injured elders slowly disappearing at a certain distance. The Patriarch of the Golden Phoenix Order saw Ji Chanming leaving, making him feel confused on what to do. Unsure if the extremely terrifying woman would come back, more than half of their forces injured including Ji Shun, and their strongest elder leaving. He had no choice but to pass a retreat order to everyone. Everyone from the Crystal Leaf also remained silent as their leader issued an order to retreat and that the war has ended. They have also exhausted all of their resources and many of their disciples were injured. If they push for the war, it might not end in their advantage. Both parties only left a few of their strongest seekers on the base of the Black Spider Guild to keep watch on the location, while both of their main forces were retreating. In the previous location of the Black Spider Guild, the tension between the Crystal Leaf Sect and Golden Phoenix Order was still intense. The whole mountain was divided into two area occupied by each group, and no one was able to make a move on looting resources in the sect. With the threat of each side still existing, they were extremely wary of the situation, so everyone remained focused and guarded their spot without rest. They knew that guarding the place might take several months before the tension eases and more backup are sent from each side. On the way back, Duan Ho and Yu Lan have downcast eyes. They never expected that Ming Li would cause such a change in the war and would end up dying in the process. They realized how wars could be extremely violent and that no one could be easily get out from it unscathed. Even Chao Fuhua was extremely depressed on what happened. He was fighting like crazy in the war, but when he saw Ming Li disappearing, his focus was lost and an incredibly critical attack was dealt to him. Luckily, her sister managed to kill the opponent and cure him in the process using high quality pills. Chao Mei wasn't feeling as down as her brother, but it was clear to her that Ming Li was the reason why the war has ended in such a way, which made her ponder more about Ming Li. .... Above the giant phoenix totem, three elders of the Golden Phoenix Order sat crossed legged while discussing with each other. "Brother, why did you suddenly decide to leave?" The Patriarch of the Golden Phoenix Order asked in a confused tone. Ji Chanming looked at the sky as he replied "That boy was the one who saved my life, and he was a member of the Crystal Leaf Sect. This second life was because of him, so it would be my way of respecting what he treasures." "I understand you brother, I agree with your decision. With all the damage we have taken and the Crystal Leaf leader still at his hundred percent, we have no certainty of winning, only you can fight on par with him." The Golden Phoenix Order Patriarch only sighed and closed his eyes as he meditated to heal his injuries. .... "Great Elder Gu, the demon has awakened, what should we do?" Elder Han asked in worry. "Even with all of the seekers in this plane combined their strength, we have no way to stop that demon from doing what she wants, and it seems like she left using the rift to a far away place. What I worry about is the boy, I am not sure if he survived or died." "We did out best, but the woman was far too strong. It did not mean we broke our promise." Elder Lou said. Great Elder Gu's face was calm as he picked up nine scrolls imprinting everything he witnessed, and ordered an elder to send it to the other nine great merchants. The Elder immediately nodded and flew away at extremely fast speed. .... With the war over, everyone was busy recuperating, and giving everyone who died a proper burial. Also several Black Spider Guild members were captured and some were killed. This was the result of losing the war. Both the Crystal Leaf Sect and Golden Phoenix Order issued an order to capture or kill the remaining guild members to avoid further trouble against the leftover guild members who might some day seek revenge.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
8 175Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.
