With the second shield gone, the remaining two who were the leader of the Gui Group and Mao Group stepped out of the shield. They floated on top of the shield with serious expression. Even though only one shield remained, they were still full of confidence, but for some reason they seemed to be worried of something. Inside the shield, Ming Li observed everything and a smile appeared behind his mask which he have been wearing for several months now. "The time has come, I will be able to remove this mask and make you idiots pay!" He then stood up and walked towards the entrance to the location of the demon spider. There were two guards waiting at the entrance, each of them were carrying a spear, and was around the third level of fusion realm. Since each and every soul realm guild members were busy with the war, Ming Li was confident that he could bust through the path with force if needed. When the fight outside resumed, and all of the group leaders became busy, Ming Li decided to proceed with his plan. Slowly, he approached the two seekers guarding the entrance and said "The sect elders sent me to assist you guys here, since I am not yet needed in the war. They told me to enter the path and stay on guard inside." The two knew Ming Li since he became popular in the guild for being taken in the by the Mao Group Leader. Both of them looked at each other and thought deeply if they should allow Ming Li to enter or not. With all the elders indulged in a fight, they would not dare to ask them if Ming Li was actually tasked to guard the place. Since Ming Li has a good reputation, they both nodded and decided to let Ming Li enter. Ming Li was the same as them who had his core sealed by the guild anyway, so he cannot try anything to betray the guild. Also, with the same train of thought as everyone, doubting Ming Li was also like doubting the judgement of the Mao Group leader. So they made him enter without complaining. In the path, there were several other seekers stationed on guard. It was a wide path with stairways at some points. The place was lit by torches placed at the sides of the hallway, attached to the brick walls. Every part of the hallway seemed ancient, and an eerie feeling emanated everywhere. Ming Li continued his steps deeper into the path. It was as if he was already walking for a long time, but the path seemed to be never ending. The deeper he went, the less seeker there were. Nobody blocked his path, as if they already knew he was coming. Ming Li thought that it seemed like the guards at the main entrance already sent a message regarding him entering the path. After more time of walking, a light came in contact with his vision which made him excited. He knew that the light signified the end of the path and a location of a larger room. With increased length of each step, he made his way towards the light. When he entered the room causing the light, he saw a man standing in front of an iron door. The man looked at him and said "I thought the one that was coming was Gui He, but who are you?" Ming Li instantly recognized the man, he was none other than Gui Duyi! He tried to ignore the man and walked towards the door, but the man suddenly spoke "Who told you that you could barge in here?" "I was ordered by the Mao Elders to come here." Ming Li calmly replied. The man's brows furrowed as he pulled out a metal fan and pointed at Ming Li. "There are no such orders! I have been sent to guard this place and not allow anyone to enter! Who are you!? Were you sent here by that idiot Gu He? I know he has been seeking information about the demon spider, however, I never thought he would actually betray the guild and send a weakling like you." Ming Li's eyes went wide, his calm demeanor turned into something viscous as he rushed towards the Gui Duyi. He had no time to reason out with the man when he was already found out, so he decided that gaining the first strike would give him much advantage. Gui Duyi waved his fan as countless wind attack pierced towards Ming Li. Quickly, he dodged the attack by forcefully turning his body side ward as he sent his own attack towards Gui Duyi. Heat wave was created from thin air and sped through Gui Duyi hitting Gui Duyi's metal fan. Booms rattled out as the heat wave hit Gui Duyi and the wind attack hit the walls. Ten holes filled the wall from Gui Duyi's attack, while the floor in front of Gui Duyi was melted. His fan, however, was still intact and wasn't damaged by the attack. "Hahaha! So you are from the Golden Phoenix Order! You are wasting your life here!" Ming Li looked around, but he could not find a way out of this situation. The only way was to push forward and defeat Gui Duyi. Left with no option, he pulled out several Crystal Leaves and began crushing them. Large quantity of natural energy filled Ming Li's hand. Gui Duyi's eyes went wide when he saw this. He saw many Crystal Leaf disciples, but it was his first time seeing one controlling several Crystal Leaves at once. His father Gui Cheng once told him that the Crystal Leaf disciples would require great knowledge and control in their art if they wish to use several Crystal Leaves at once. It is a feat only people who trained the art for more than fifty years could do. Ming Li rushed towards Gui Duyi who was still stunned of his action. Gu Duyi thought that if Ming Li was using Crystal Leaves, it only meant that he is also from the Crystal Leaf Sect! The only conclusion that came to his mind is that the two made an alliance to destroy their guild. This new idea made him jittery as he tried to attack Ming Li and capture him, so that he could warn his father and the leader of the possible alliance between the two group. He gathered large quantity of natural energy as he lifted his fan on one side and shouted "Piercing Gale!" Hundreds of one meter wind needles materialized in front of him. It was barely visible, but because each needle were rotating at rapid speed, Ming Li got a clear idea on what it was. Ming Li threw the Crystal Leaf attack towards Gui Duyi while Gui Duyi also waved his fan as the wind needles flew towards Ming Li. BOOOM! The hallway quaked as the two attack collided. Dust and smoke erupted from the collusion covering both Ming Li and Gui Dui. Ming Li quickly leaped out of the smoke as he waved his hand creating a ball of symbol to fly out towards the smoke where Gui Duyi was previously located. Then he rushed forward crushing another Crystal Leaf which created a strong wind that cleared the smoke away. There he saw Gui Duyi still standing in his previous location unmoving with closed eyes. However, he was currently chanting something. Ming Li felt the danger of what Gui Duyi was doing as he waved his hand creating a giant heat wave. Along with sphere of symbol, it flew towards Gui Duyi at amazing speed. When the attacks were three meters in front of Gui Duyi, he opened his eyes, then an ancient text for wind appeared in front of him. Quickly, he waved his fan with all of his might as the symbol turned into unimaginable gust of wind which contained both wind blades and needles that shot towards Ming Li while Gui Duyi was thrown backward from the force of his own attack. Ming Li's eyes went wide as he crushed Twenty Crystal Leaves, which made the skin of his palm be shredded into bits. However, he had no choice since the attack rushing towards him was beyond what he can block. The sphere of symbols simply passed through the wind attack, but the heat waved was completely destroyed leaving Ming Li wide open. Without much thought, Ming Li released all of the energy from the Crystal Leaves creating a gigantic cyclone which collided with the attack. Two wind skills ravaged the small chamber as it shook violently while small debris came falling from the ceiling. Ming Li was thrown back several steps as the two attack slowly diminished. On the other hand, Gui Duyi was panting heavily trying to gain his momentum and rush towards Ming Li. What he did not notice was the small sphere of symbol towards him. The symbols simply etched itself in his skin letting him experience pain he never thought could even be possible. Shrill cries came from him as he shrieked nonstop. He was only at the third level of fusion realm, so the attack still affected him as much as it would affect others near Ming Li's level. After a bit, his screams were lessening, as he was slowly withstanding Torment. However, Ming Li did not stop his aggressive attack and appeared in front of him who immediately grabbed his neck and activated Sun's Wave which burnt his skin and soon his throat. After a few breaths, his eyes went white as he died in the hands of Ming Li. Ming Li was also exhausted from the fight which he could not have won if he does not have the skill Torment. He quickly produced several pills and popped it in his mouth as he sat crossed legged for a while. When he stood up, he glanced at the door in front of him, then pushed it with all his might. The door slowly opened where a blurred energy seem to be blocking his vision from seeing further into the door. So he had no choice but to enter it expecting the worst. Upon entering it, he saw an extremely large chamber with a few people sitting crossed legged who seemed to be totally weak. There were around twenty five people unmoving and all of them were absurdly thin with only skin and bones left. However, their eyes glowed with profound light as they kept murmuring words that could not be understood by Ming Li. Around them were hundreds of thousands of monster cores spread to the ground forming a symbol surrounding the frozen altar at the center. When Ming Li looked closely at the frozen altar, his core trembled as if it was about to shatter. However, at the same time, it was also filled with extreme excitement pulling him towards the frozen altar. Inside the frozen altar, Ming Li saw a beautiful lady with exquisite figure. However, parts of her body were covered with black thin fur, and behind her were illusory spider legs! When Ming Li focused more of her consciousness onto the figure, his eyes went wide when he saw a gigantic demonic spider in the place of the beautiful woman. The spider was not moving, but it caused his eyes to become bloodshot and blood to flow out of it. Ming Li immediately retracted his consciousness and closed his eyes as he endured the pain. The feeling he got from the frozen woman was the same feeling he got from the corpse he got from the cave. However, this woman in front of him, even dead, still possess her core, veins, and blood. It made the woman a scarier existence than the corpse in Ming Li's cube. "So this is another demon! I am not sure if this one was stronger than the corpse I have when they were alive. But this is a great find for me! If I can steal that corpse I would become free of worries of demon's grace for a while! Ming Li's eyes shone with hope as he studied his surroundings. He realized that all of the monster core used to form a symbols and inscriptions were for the purpose of something like a sacrifice for the corpse! "Are they trying to revive a small portion of this corpse!?" Ming Li was shocked of what he discovered. With his wits, it was easy for him to conclude what these guys were doing, however, he was clueless on how they were doing it. The people around seemed to be immersed in controlling the inscription, and guiding the life force in the monster core's to get a reaction from the corpse. Ming Li narrowed his brows as he sat crossed legged and started to contemplate on the corpse. This time, he did not carelessly used his consciousness to look into the corpse. Instead, he decided to slowly understand it and uncover its mysteries. Since it still has a core, he sensed a resonance with it. His core never stopped throbbing as he submerged himself into deep contemplation. Soon, his mind was filled with various thoughts, thoughts that seemed to belong to the corpse when it was alive. Ming Li was different than everyone, unlike them, he has a demons core, and could control and understand demonic energy. The demonic energy which lingered in the corpse's body still left behind some of its previous memory. These demonic energy existed for countless of years and was with the corpse for as long as it was in the frozen altar. With it being attached with the woman for so long, the energy has recorded small portions of the encounters of the woman which Ming Li was seeing. Ming Li's eyes were crystal clear, his body was slightly trembling but his focus remained unwavering. He saw random scenarios play in his head, Most of it were vague and would only last a second. Each image was not connected to other images, it was as if the different images happened several years apart and some might even be hundred years apart. She saw a wasteland, Many body littered everywhere, the woman looking at a man lovingly, and several other scenes. He felt as if his head would explode anytime if he could not properly control the flow of information. Some time passed as he slowly murmured "Love... Companion.... Betrayal... Death.. Revenge.... Monsters... Demons..." After he said those words, his eyes bled again and he coughed out blood as he was shoved backward with extreme repulsive force, causing him to tumble towards the wall of the chamber where he slammed violently causing cracks to appear on it. He lifted himself up while trembling as he said: "This woman was probably betrayed, betrayed by her lover and was killed then sealed in this chamber. After dying, her will of revenge seems to keep the demonic energy alive and attract the monsters outside, which she plans to consume so she could revive herself!" These guys are helping this demons do what she wants and plan to use a bit of her strength in this war! .... Outside, the war still continued All of the elders were now engaged in a three way war, as blood were spilled faster than before. Ji Shun still sat crossed legged at the base of the Golden Phoenix Order, however, Ji Chanming was raging in battle as he takes on two seekers who reached Soul Ascension. His strength was really above the rest; even though he was not the head of the Golden Phoenix Order, he seemed to be the one with the strongest fighting potential among all of them. Chao Fuhua and Chao Mei was side by side slaying enemies trying to do their best for the clan, even Yu Lan and Duan Ho was still fighting for their lives riddled with injuries. The Apothecary Pavilion's Second head was also with them, keeping stronger opponents from coming near them. He exploded with a strength of a person at the peak of the Soul Realm which made him able to fight most of the people attacking them. With him, the hall master at the apothecary pavilion branch sect was also crushing countless crystal leaves killing dozens of lower level seekers. Only the sect master of the Crystal Leaf Sect remained unmoving which caused the crystal leaf sect to slightly lose in the war. All of his personal disciples were already in combat as he floated there amidst the massacre below him. His clothes fluttered in the air as he sighed then said "Crush One leaf."
