《The Heavens Shall Fall》Chapter 23: Competition

On the next day, Ming Li continued to create his nature's dew. He also decided to plant some of the necessary herbs needed on his own. The plants needed for it's creation are cheap, but since he needs around a hundred herbs per nature's dew, the supply on the market would be insufficient for his needs. Since they are low grade plants he can grow one for only a single day. He meticulously computed his gains and losses like a real merchant. Also, he made sure that he should create 10 divine nature's dew per day, so that on the weekly trade day he could sell around 60 nature's dew which could give him instant 300 thousand soul ores. His profit would be around 150 thousand soul ores! In just a week he could create three demonic nature essence. Also he could easily re earn his experiment expenses with his steady income. He felt a bit unsatisfied with the income, since he has to spend a lot of effort creating the nature's dew. However he has no choice but to accept it, since this is the best way he can think of to earn fast. When the trade day came, he immediately set up his products and banners on the side of the streets. This time many people knew him and actually waited for him. The news of his nature's dew spread fast, and even the hall master got curious with his product. He even sent a disciple to get his hands on one of Ming Li's nature's dew. Since he has been extremely busy creating nature's dew and talks to no one, he never knew that his divine nature's dew would be a hot topic the past week. The divine nature's dew was all sold in a flash. Many still wanted it but all sixty were sold off just minutes after he opened his stall. Some people bought more than five which caused the others to even fight over it. Ming Li was amazed on how popular it was, but he can't do anything about the production capacity. He simply stared with amazement at the people who still asked him if he still have more. He even thought of increasing the price but that would affect the popularity of the product. Many disciples looked at him with envy, some of them are even considered geniuses in the sect. They already heard things about Ming Li, and they also knew that he has the backing of the apothecary pavilion second head. Many people also insisted that he is a personal disciple of the creation hall master. So no one dared to offend him. However with his new product affecting the business of some known disciples, he started to become target of malice some popular disciples. These disciples could not just watch Ming Li monopolize the market, and would surely do something to prevent his growth. A male blue robed disciple with long hair and feminine face around 17 of age eyed him with murderous intent and said "Observe him for three days and report to me" "Yes young master." The young man around the same age with thick lips and brows nodded. Meanwhile in the creation hall, the hall master is already holding the nature's dew Ming Li made. He became speechless when he first held the nature's dew, because he was not able to identify its formula easily. Then he decided to study it further to determine Ming Li's true potential. As the hall master, he would not allow himself to be unable to identify a formula of a mere disciple who just recently learned the sect's art. Ming Li on the other hand walked happily buying thousands of various ordinary herbs. His ability to select plants improved a lot when he entered the sect. The only thing he did was deal with plants so his art improved rapidly. The disciple following him saw him buying thousands of useless ordinary plants and even went as far as buying grasses. His expression was of pure shock. "Why is this idiot buying all of those useless plants? Did he notice me and decided to do that? No that's not possible, I made sure to keep my distance." Ming Li really never noticed that he was being followed and he doesn't care either. He is busy preparing for his one week labor. He spent the whole day buying thousands of herbs, since he is stingy about the spending, he would even ask for discount for extremely cheap herbs. Also, since he doesn't want people to have an idea of his formula, he purposely bought random cheap plants which caused him to feel pained. He sighed inwardly then thought to himself "This is part of the the investment. This is necessary. This is not a waste. This can help me in the long run..." Ming Li continuously thought of random reason just to ease the pain of parting with his hard earned soul ores. After completely buying thousand of cheap plant and grasses. He returned to his room and shut himself in. The disciple following him has no choice but to stay outside and observe his next move. As usual Ming Li continuously created the divine nature's dew and only went out to tend for his plants. He never even communicated with anyone. After three days, the disciple got nothing from him. He only got the exact time when Ming Li would go out and the fact that he bought a lot of useless plants. He even saw Ming Li plant random grass which caused him to think that those cheap plants and grass might actually be useful. But being a disciple of the sect and knowing how to create nature's dew, he dismissed the idea of that being possible. He concluded that it was all a diversion to avoid his formula from being exposed. The disciple decided to leave after the third day and he reported everything "Young master, he only go out at specific time and locks himself up on his room, probably to create nature's dew. He also bought thousand of cheap plants spending around 150 thousand soul ores. That is all young master." "What? He spent that much to cover up his formula? Is he an idiot. Well he think his formula is so great, and he dares to open a stall near to us who sells the same type of nature's dew and claim it is better. Prepare a group to teach him a lesson next week." "But.. Young master, he is backed up by people who we do not wish to offend." said the man with thick brows and lips. "Don't worry my father will surely back me up when I get into trouble." The man said while laughing confidently. ... In the next day, he also went out of the sect to buy demon's grace and the needed rare plants. Luckily nobody followed him this time and he spent another 500 thousand soul ores to buy plants needed to create thirteen demonic nature's dew. As usual he was pained with how much he spent and he even teared up when he bought the thirteenth demonic dew. It was a tears of deep despair, his hard earned money wasn't even half of what he spent. He now really hate the fact that he ate that useless fruit. It did boost his level but it only made his life harder. He also tried to study his core several times to look for a way to reverse the effect of the fruit, but he is clueless on where to start. While creating divine nature's dew, he never stopped creating demonic nature's dew when he had the chance. He also continuously absorbed demonic energy from his demonic nature's dew. Nobody noticed his rapid growth since the disciples only knew him for his nature's dew and he never attended classes in the sect. Disciples are not required to attend classes and are free to do whatever they want as long as they produce the quota set by the sect, and never break sect rules. Sect rules also allows minor fights within the sect, but killing or crippling someone is not allowed. Also fighting is only allowed in the open and not inside any infrastructure. On the next trade day Ming Li was as groggy as usual, he never rest and always overwork himself so that he could create as much divine nature's dew as needed. He walked like a zombie and the demonic energy around him is still fresh. It seems like he just absorbed large quantity of demonic energy the past few days. Luckily humans can't sense the demonic energy, so they can only feel the eerie dark vibe coming from Ming Li. He easily sold sixty divine nature's dew. It only took him an hour to sell everything. The neighboring disciples who sells nature's dew looked at him with shock on how much he earns. However they did not dare to cause trouble for Ming Li. Meanwhile on a room inside the creation hall. The hall master can be seen sitting crossed legged surrounded by hundreds of symbols, in front of him is a small bottle of nature's dew. This nature's dew is none other than the divine nature's dew Ming Li created! The hall master tried to decipher the formula used to create the divine nature's dew for several days. "I can't believe the kid used extremely cheap plants and grass to create this. Also he used around 100 types of plants and the shocking part is that even though I know the plants he used, I am unable to determine the procedure in how he combined them. This nature's dew is extremely complex. What a talented person!"
