《Reincarnation Luna (On Hiatus)》Chapter 13: New Speed

Silver Sword Sect (Luna & Maria’s house)
[Maria] “… Luna, what are you doing?”
[Me] “Exercising my mana.”
[Maria] “Are you sure that’s safe?”
[Me] “… it is in my hands”
[Maria] “What about in others?”
[Me] “Similar to suicide.”
[Maria] “…”
Currently I am practicing a mana training technique I often saw the Blood Elf King use. It is very effective; however you need access to a high powered demonic core to use it, hence why I have not used it before. The training consists of focusing your mana to the demonic core, which in my case is the ‘certain’ present left to me by a ‘certain’ griffin, and then making your mana condense into liquid. You then drink the mana / demonic liquid. Honestly if you don’t condense it correctly, you could very well end up taking a few decades off your lifespan. I have complete control over this process due to my scholarly mind as well as the tiny fact that the demonic core is inside me.
Recently my mana has gotten a little more demonic feeling, and I’m starting to suspect that it is caused by my Blood Elf blood mixing with my demonic core. I really hope that the supposed gifts are worth being possibly misunderstood as a demonic beast in disguise.
[Maria] “You should probably start heading to the arena now…”
[Me] “Is it noon already?”
[Maria] “No yet, there is still a couple minutes… although if you don’t go now the crowd at the entrance will get worse.”
Crowd at the entrance… just how fast did the rumors spread? I know everyone is excited when inner sect disciples fight; however we are just two outer sect disciples. The only reason I could find was the fact that my opponent was well known.
As I walk up to the arena I notice a large amount of outer sect disciples all crowded by the entrance. I finger my necklace, and find the best solution to get through the crowd without having to go in between each and every person. The reason for this being that my size is smaller than everyone else who is attending. Suddenly I see Gabriella already in the arena; however she was not too far in. A bright idea suddenly came into mind, and I chuckle under my breath.
[Me] “Hey Gabriella, have you found someone unlucky enough to fight me?”
I shout this aloud, which alerts all surrounding disciples of my presence. I also notice how Gabriella is now glaring at me. This shout alone accomplished two goals I had. The first goal was to simply find a way through the crowd, while the other one was to aggravate Gabriella. If she is angered then she may say something stupid and cocky, which will further her embarrassment when she losses. This in itself will stop any attempts to get back at me, and will prevent her from harassing Maria again.
[Gabriella] “You… just you wait and see! My follower is powerful enough to beat you 10 times over! You don’t even stand a chance!”

I smirk, which causes the already infuriated girl to be even more angry, and head into the arena. Upon arriving I see a large, muscular man already waiting for me. His muscles are bulging, almost as if they wish to jump out of his body as soon as they can, and his age was obviously beyond my own. He seems to be about 16, and his mana seems to be at tier 5. How did this sort of man get into the Silver Sword Sect? He has already aged some, and is still at tier 5. Judging by his bulging muscles, he probably passed the entrance test with them rather than with his mana.
[Muscles Dude] “Hehehe, you’re just a little girl. You have no way to defeat me, just give it up unless you want some harm done to that pretty face of yours.”
[Me] “While I may be smaller than you in size, my mana out class yours. This shows how poorly your training is going. Maybe you should work on actually training in the first place. In addition, getting cocky without even testing your opponent's strength is a little on the dumb side. You need to pay more attention in battle.”
[Muscles Dude] “You little brat! Don’t speak up to your superiors like that!”
With this, the guy ran up to me and threw a punch. Although his punch was full of force and power, it was annoyingly slow. For a person such as I who excels in wind manipulation, I also make sure my raw speed can out-class some of the lower tier demonic beasts. As I grow older my speed will also grow, so I have no worry that soon I will be able to outrun even the best demonic beasts.
Suddenly I disappear from the guy’s vision and reappear behind him. It would actually be more accurate to say I ran from in front of too behind of, however all that was seen was my blurred figure.
[Muscles Dude] “Oh? So your fast, big deal! I just reached tier 5, see if you can match up!”
Wait a minute… he JUST reached tier 5?! Just how much does he neglect his training?! Also, why has he not even checked my tier yet? Is he that confident that he will win? I never knew so many stupid people resided in the Silver Sword Sect!
As I am lost in thought, the guy throws another punch at me. Instantly I think of backing out of rang again, however before I got a chance to my demonic core started to vibrate. The vibration caused my entire body to shake, and suddenly a golden light started flowing out of the core and surrounded my body. When I finally gain control of my body I run out of range of the incoming attack. Instead of leaving a blurred figure behind me again, my body seemed to cut through the air and the speed of which I was moving was far greater than before.
Is this one of the supposed powers of the demonic core that the griffin was talking about? My speed was no longer my own, but that of a lower tier griffin. Even the lowest tier griffin can outrun all other lower tier, and some lower-middle tier beasts. I must have out run the man, and gained the griffin’s speed as my own.

Testing the griffin’s speed I rush over towards the guy and at the last moment stop and swing my hand. With all of the griffin’s speed focused in my hand as well as the running head start, the air moved by my hand swiftly rammed into the guy, and he coughed up blood. After losing several mouthfuls of blood he collapsed, leaving me the victory.
----------Prince Caden’s POV----------
(A few months ago)
[Servant] “Prince Caden, King Henry is calling for you.”
[Me] “Alright, I will go meet him at once.”
I walk down to see what my father needs of me. My father does not often call for me as I am only the 3rd prince, and thus not as important as the 1st and 2nd princes currently. The 1st prince will inherit the throne, so he is currently being taught by instructors and guided by father, while the 2nd prince has just gotten married so he is the topic of discussion as of right now.
Although he means well, 2nd Prince has recently given me a lot of problems to deal with. These problems are nobles pushing their daughters towards my face in hopes of them getting engaged with me. Normally this happens when the prince turns 14, however I am currently 8 and yet this is still happening. I walk up to a grand door, and the guards open it as I pass through.
[King Henry] “Son, I have heard from your Mana Instructor that your mana has already passed through tier 6. This is genius among geniuses, and so I have decided to let you go to any sect you wish and join.”
[Me] “Father is too kind; I am merely doing my duty as 3rd Prince.”
[King Henry] “Hahahaha, well said my son! Now, tell me which sect you wish to join.”
[Me] “If father insists, than I would like to join Silver Sword Sect while hiding the truth of my identity.”
[King Henry] “To that small sect?! If you so pleased you could join the best of the best such as the Heavenly Sun Sect, however you choose there! Also, my son, why do you choose to hide your own identity from all?”
[Me] “I wish to know more about the people, and in order to know this I must hide the very fact that I am the 3rd prince.”
[King Henry] “Even so… alright then! I grant you permission to join the Silver Sword Sect as well as permission to hide your identity! I shall see how far you have grown when you turn 16.”
[Me] “Thank you father.”
I bow and leave the room. In truth I wish to join such a uninfluential sect due to boredom. The higher the influence the more idiots there are, so naturally it shall be less annoying going to this sect.
As I arrive in the sect I notice that everything here was barren, and many disciples were going about shopping and of the like instead of cultivating. Later I discovered an arena that house several tournaments, all which bored me. After a couple months of time I quickly became bored of the sect entirely and was about to request transferring sects after all, until I saw something, or maybe it would be more polite if I said someone, that caught my eye.
It was a girl that claimed to be my age, however using mana to enhance my eye allowed me to see quickly that she was lying. She was quite the beauty for someone around my age, as her blond hair flows in the wind and her dark brown eyes seemed to stare in one’s soul. She has an aura around her that caught people’s eyes and she carried herself in such a way as if she were educated in the ways of the world.
After that chance encounter with her I kept track of her and saw that she often practiced. In fact, for a couple days she even disappeared for closed door training. She seemed to be someone that took training seriously, much more than anyone else in the sect. Then, right when I thought I finished satisfying my curiosity towards her, she was suddenly challenged to a fight in the arena. I was startled when she agreed, as she did not seem to be the type to agree to the demands of another.
When I arrived at the arena the next day I saw a huge crowd of people. Gabriella must have spread word in attempt to frighten Luna. When I finally caught sight of Luna, I pondered on how she was going to make it in the arena in time when she suddenly yelled out to Gabriella. This caused all surrounding disciples disperse to allow her a path through them. She was very brilliant, and I wondered how this type of girl would fare in an actual fight.
When the fighting began all she did was dodge with amazing speed. I quickly analyzed her tier and saw that she was currently at tier 7. She was actually very strong for her age, yet I never heard her boast about it. Then, when her opponent went to swing a punch, Luna’s body began to tremble. At first I thought she was scared of the huge guy, but then I noticed that the air around her seemed to change. Then, almost as if time itself speed up around her, she shot out from her opponent’s grasp. Shortly later she defeated him in one strike. For some reason she seemed to have gained enlightenment in the middle of battle… this girl interests me more than ever. It seems as if I will need to stay a while longer to satisfy my curiosity.
