《The Skywalker Chronicles》Chapter 14

I woke up haft way on the floor and haft way still on it. My head was on the floor holding my body up and my legs were still on the bed. My chest was still wet and so not much time must have passed. I had a wicked migraine likely due to the blood pooling in my head. The human body just isn’t meant to stay in the upside down position for long periods of time. As someone who had no athletic abilities all of his life, I ended up fall rolling into the floor and making my up from that.
My new bed and it had already been dirtied up. I wonder if I could. Reaching down with my right had I touched my bed and all of the stains that were there disappeared. Cleaning magic! My grin just kept stretching wider and wider until I was a giggling mess. If someone was peeking at me at that moment they would have been sure that they had just witnessed the moment a man slipped into madness. Another useful ability added to my retinue. No way in hell am I going to name it Life Magic. That’s just stupid. What the hell would actual Life restoring magic be called then. I would be better off calling it every day magic or even utility magic.
I treated myself to a round of cleaning magic along with my clothes. I will eventually get around to building a shower. Not like those weirdo’s in some other countries that would start with a bath. Their sicko’s anyways, did you know they share bathwater? Soaking in bathwater is like soaking in your own filth, why would you want to soak in someone else’s also.
It was time to get back to work. I wanted to try to get some hunting in. I want some meat. If I can get some hide and make leather that would be an extra bonus. I picked up my crossbow and then saw all of the loose bolts. Fool that I am I didn’t think things through and now I am lacking a quiver. I didn’t have the materials to make it in my room and so I picked up four and just carried it in my hand. My hatchet setting in its holster now attached to my belt, axe strapped to my back with my paracord and crossbow in hand I made my way out of the house. I didn’t see Willow. It’s too bad, I wanted a good bye kiss.

set out for the woods I had come from originally. I hadn’t noticed any tracks or anything like that but honestly it was the closest patch of woods. Big animals live in the woods right? So the sooner I get to the trees the faster I will run into a deer or something. Hunters in the TV shows always just walked into the woods and there would be a huge heard of deer where they get their pick. I wonder if I can get 4 or 5 deer on this trip. Should only take me an hour or two. I’ve never hunted before but if cavemen can do it, can’t be that complicated.
Four hours later I could be seen running and screaming out of the woods. Nothing for nearly all of the time I spent in the woods and when I finally ran into something I was nearly killed. The vicious fur covered monster chased me through the woods after I took a shot at it and missed. Like an idiot I got bored and wasted nearly all of my ammo. My first shot was at a tree. It flew true but when the bolt hit the tree, the shaft shattered. Then I shot and missed 3 more times and lost track of where they actually hit. My last shot was used on the beast I ran into but unfortunately I missed. The monster was covered from head to toe in gray fur. On its head was a long spiraled horn. The creature had long hind legs which let it sprint in bouts of leaps. Waldo was right, the scariest creature you could run into is a rabbit. A rabbit that is equipped with a horn makes it even more horrid.
I am man enough to say that after I missed what I thought was a small cute rabbit, I ran as fast as I could in the direction I had come from. If you saw a creature darting at you with what could have been a unicorn’s horn you would run too. When I had reached the clearing I turned around to see if my pursuer had followed me. To my surprise, the little monster had already started its leap at me. Its body in the perfect shape flying at me like a bullet. Reacting on what must have been instant, my right foot came up to kick the beast away but to my horror I was now moving way faster than I was able to back on earth.

My foot lined up with the horn and I was pierced through the foot. A scream came from my throat, higher pitched then I thought was possible from someone who had been a bass since puberty. In pain, I brought my injured foot down to stabilize myself and with luck the horned rabbit came with. My maneuver ended up braking the rabbit’s neck when my leg came down and after a few painful spasms of the rabbit’s legs it went still. I have obviously experienced pain before but this was pain with a capital P. with extreme reluctance, I pulled the horn out of my foot and sat down to examine my wound. Yup, there is now a see through hole in my foot. I pulled off my belt to use as a strap to try and slow my blood flow and my hatchet thudded to the floor. Crap, I could have used that as a projectile. Si la vie right? Life is sometimes shit so I best not let this get to me. Positive thoughts! This is actually an opportunity! I can now practice my healing magic. Like before I started to meditate and concentrate on my breathing. This time it took only a few seconds for me to reach the state where I could feel my whole body.
Both my feet had injuries from walking around barefooted but the wound stood out. I’ve never consciously healed myself but the wound seems to be absorbing the energy around it and was slowly healing all by its self. I started pushing my energy from all over my body towards the wound and it readily drew it in and now the hole was rapidly closing. This was however causing me to grow weak rapidly. I extended my area of observation to the outside of my body and drew on the heat in the air to supplement myself. I could also feel several other energies. I reached out to absorb the second most abundant energy and I could feel something. Not heat but it was close. I opened my eyes and everything was either dark or looked warped. I stopped and the world returned to how it’s supposed to. This was likely light.
That energizing feeling I had been having must have been from me absorbing light energy subconsciously. With my will, I created a bubble in the shape of an egg shell cut in haft to surround my back side. This shell absorbed the light energy from behind me so as to not blind my sight. If no light hits your eye balls then you can’t see. It’s one of the basic rules of controlling light that every reader of a zillion fantasy novel knows. Invisibility was so a thing here. I will need to try it soon. I’ll need to take a note from Danny North and make some peek holes. If the hole is tinny enough then you can still see out while no one will notice a speck of darkness the size of a pin hole.
My wound quickly healed and I can now feel my body growing stronger. It was as if the energy was reinforcing my very being. I reached out for the third most abundant energy and my muscles seem to tingle slightly before the felt even more energy flood through me. This must be the static in the atmosphere. I seem to have reached the limit I could hold but the energy was still flowing through me and it seems to be going somewhere. I got the feeling that if I wanted I could still tap into that energy but it wasn’t housed inside of me.
In order to not take in too much of anything in any one spot, I split what I now think of as my absorption field into small spheres and set them 20 feet in the air in rotation around me like planets orbiting their sun. No I am not trying to stroke my massive ego by making myself the center of my universe.
While walking back I used my new found well of energy and created all sorts of types of cloth in the form of bundles like you see at the fabric stores. Each bundle 6 feet wide and god knows how long, I ended up clearing the grass in a hundred wide field around me until the burden became too much for me to carry. No John Lenahan, there’s nothing wrong with sheep. It’s just that I have no lawn mower and magic is kick ass. I started heading back towards the house carrying 6 bundles of cloth and a rabbit tied at my waist.
