《Rebirth of the Heavenly General》Chapter 5: Disappointment

Today was the day General Yang realized the day of his birth. The walls of the womb he was in were starting to constrict and he was moving. He felt pain in his body as he was going through the narrow opening but it was still manageable. He has felt far greater intensities of pain and this level of pain wasn't even worth for him to scratch.
'My mother will feel much more pain than myself' General Yang thought. He spread his Divine Consciousness and focused on his mother's body. Although he was just an unborn child now, his soul belonged to that of a Heavenly Deity. He could perform many feats with his Divine Consciousness in his previous life but after the fight with the abomination where he had sacrificed his Dao, his soul was very weak but it was still enough to do what he was about to do.
Giving complete attention to his mother, General Yang used his Spiritual Essence to weaken the pain receptors throughout his mother's body. It should be known that a body contains uncountable number of pain receptors and General Yang had to weaken every single one carefully lest he completely deactivates them or worse, affect any other part which could come out to be fatal.
With his Divine Consciousness, General Yang noticed his Mother's mentality calm down considerably and he smiled internally. Now all that was left was to follow the natural course and go out into the real world.
...….
Outside, in the Queen was lying on her simple bed with sweat covered face. Her water had broken a while ago and she was starting to feel her child ready to come out.
Within the room, the only other person was the lady in armor, The Queen's niece. The Queen didn't possess any standing in the Palace and didn't trust anyone. The only person she could trust her life with was her niece.
"Aunt Xu, take deep breaths and slowly push. I know it will feel pain but it will only be for a little while" The lady in armor instructed her aunt calmly. Although she had practiced extensively for this very moment all those years, this time was different as it was her Aunt giving birth to her cousin.
The Queen looked at her niece with a loving gaze and softly opened her mouth, "It is actually strange being told that by a young girl who hadn't ever given birth to" but suddenly the Queen frowned and she became worried,
"I am oddly not feeling much pain, Little Gu is my child alright" the Queen became worriedly and her face paled. She had waited for this day for years and if her child didn't make it, she believed her heart wouldn't take it.
"Rest assured Aunty, I can feel your child's life signs and didn't you remember what I said a few days ago, your child is an angel bestowed by the heavens, giving birth to him will not be painful" The lady in armor assured her aunt but internally, she knew she was bluffing. Now she only hoped that her aunt becomes calm.
The Queen didn't think about anything and listened to her niece's words. She started pushing slowly and gradually. Before long, her niece's excited voice came.
"I can the head of the child Aunty, just push a little more" The lady in armor became extremely joyful and carefully held the baby's head. The Queen also became relived at her niece's words.
"Just a bit more…. Finally!" The lady in armor exclaimed as she held the new born baby within her hands.

"uaaa"
A soft wail of a child sounded out. The Queen's tension completely disappeared when she heard her child's wail. It was like finding an oasis in the desert. The lady in armor gently held the baby in her palms and brought it to the side where a tub of water and a soft cloth were already prepared. The lady in armor gently dipped the baby in the warm water and wiped off all the splatters of blood from the baby's body. She dried off the baby after he had been cleaned with the soft cloth and wrapped the baby in another.
The lady in armor sneaked a peek at the baby's nether region and smiled excitedly. "It's a boy" she spoke enthusiastically. The Queen squeaked a sound of joy when she heard the news and all her exhaustion vanished into thin air. She quickly sat up and looked at her child in her niece's hand expectantly.
The niece understanding her Aunt's thoughts scurried over to her and gave her the child in her arms. The Queen looked at her newborn baby boy with love and gently kissed her child's head.
"I have waiting very long for you" the Queen gently spoke to the baby. The baby slowly opened its eyes and when he saw his mother's face, his eyes widened as if in surprise before long a tear slowly dripped down from its eyes. The baby started making sounds and raised his hands.
"My child, why are you crying?" the Queen softly asked with a smile and brought her pinky finger to her child who surprisingly held it with a firm grip.
*BANG*
Suddenly, the door to the Queen's room was barged open forcefully. The Queen along with her niece frowned at this sudden disturbance. The lady in armor turned and was about to shout at whom had such an audacity to barge into the room but when she saw the intruder, her words became stuck in her throat and she immediate kneeled.
"Your Majesty" she said but there wasn't an ounce of respect in her voice. The intruder ignored the lady in armor's salute and moved towards the bed of the Queen. The Queen's frown deepened as she looked towards the intruder.
The one who barged in was an average heighted man with shaved face and sharp eyes. His eyebrows were sword like and he had brown hair along with dark brown colored eyes. This man was the King of the Green Cloud Kingdom.
"I see that you have given birth to my child" the King spoke in a bland tone as he came near the Queen's bed. From the tone of the King, it wouldn't seem that as if he was talking about the birth of his own child.
"Ye-"
The Queen was about to reply but she was interrupted when the King bent down and took her new born from her hands. Looking at his nether region, the King noticed it was a boy before looking at the child as a whole. He frowned when he looked at the child's appearance and figure.
"What is this?" The King asked with an irritated tone. The Queen's frown deepened even more as she heard her husband's question.
"'My' Son" She answered while stressing the word 'my'.
"It certainly is yours. Look at his weak and frail appearance, and he doesn't even weight like a normal child. This isn't someone I sired" the King commented before dropping the child. The Queen and lady in armor were absolutely shocked at the King's actions. The Queen, even with her frail body showed staggering level of speed and caught her new born child before he fell to the ground.

"What do you think you are doing by dropping my child like that Murong Baishi?" the Queen literally screamed at the King in anger and furious rage. The King sneered at the anger the Queen was showed.
"You have disappointed me yet again woman of Shang, I hereby expel you from the Palace and assign you to live in the Grey Manor outside of it. Also take that useless daughter of yours with you" the King decreed before moving out of the room. The Queen was dumbfounded at his words.
'Why did I marry him?' the Queen thought blankly.
The lady in armor wanted to unsheathe her sword and behead the miscreant. She couldn't believe a father would actually do that to her husband.
When the King was about to leave the room, he halted in his steps as he felt a sudden sensation of Death but it was only for an instant before he harrumphed and continued moving.
The Lady in armor hurried over to the Queen and looked at the state of her newborn cousin. Now when she looked at him closely, she too indeed noticed that her newborn cousin was smaller than a normal baby and seemed very frail. She frowned as she knew this wasn't normal.
'Aunty Xu's illness must've affected the baby as well' she sighed internally but her love for her cousin didn't waver and in fact increased.
"Aunty Xu, you should rest for a few days before we move out from this place" the lady in armor suggested but the Queen firmly shook her head.
"No, we shall move out from this place right this instant. Little Gu, I want you to bring Shuan'er to the grey palace while I take my newborn" The lady in armor wanted to insist but she gave up knowing that now she needed to support her Aunty and not oppose her.
"Very well Aunty" she bowed and left the room. Looking at her retreating figure, the Queen finally let out all the emotions bottled up inside her and cried.
"…I am sorry little one; I am such a useless mother. I couldn't save my daughter from her cruel fate and I am powerless to give the life of a prince and princess to my children that you both deserve" the Queen cried and spoke to her newborn child. He eyes were closed and her tears dropped on her newborn's face. Slowly, without her noticing her mood began calming down and she got hold of herself. Looking at her child who was looking back at her, her will and determination grew.
She quietly wiped off the tears from her face and stood from her bed. She changed her clothes and packed the few she had with her. Picking her child, she walked out of the room with her a small bag which contained all her belongings.
The Queen of the Green Cloud Kingdom didn't look like an actual Queen. Wearing a simple light blue colored dress, she didn't have even a milligram of jewelry on her body or a trace of make-up on her face. She silently walked the tall and wide halls of the Palace with all the maids and servants looked at her is disdain and mockery.
The Queen moved out of the palace and went towards the grey color manor beside the palace that seemed to be more than a hundred years old. There were spider webs all around the Manor and a thick layer of dust on the walls and floor.
The Queen stood in front of the run down Manor and before long, the lady in armor came but with an extra person.
The Lady in armor was pushing a wheel chair on which a young girl sat. This young girl had black hair that cascaded down till her lap. She possessed emerald green eyes just like the Queen but they seemed almost lifeless. But when the girl looked at the bundle in her mother's arms, her eyes brightened up and became lively.
"Mother, is that my new sibling" the young girl softly asked in a very low voice. The Queen turned and noticed her daughter looking at her brother excitedly. Her heart felt like it had been stabbed by a thousand swords when he looked at his daughter's state.
Her daughter was sitting on a wheelchair. Her left leg was completely missing from the beginning of the thigh region. Her body was extremely thin and frail. Her hair had many white strands even though she was very young. The most disturbing thing about her was her face.
The Queen's daughter, the Green Cloud Kingdom's First Princess had a completely disfigured face as if it had been melted. She didn't look like a princess at all.
The Queen came forward towards her daughter and bent down. She took the child in her arms and placed in her daughter's lap.
"Yes, this is your newborn sibling. Shuan'er, meet your baby brother, Yang" the Queen introduced her newborn to her firstborn. She had always wanted to put that name on her son, she didn't know why but it seemed as if that very name was made for her son.
Shuan'er looked at her baby brother and smiled lightly but she suddenly recalled something and hurriedly covered her face. She didn't want to scare her little brother but to her as well as the Queen and the Lady in armor's surprise, the baby smiled and laughed cutely before Shuan managed to cover her face.
Shuan'er slowly uncovered her face and her baby brother laughed once again. He seemed extremely joyful and was moving his arms energetically.
"You-You're not scared of me?" Shuan'er asked and the reply she received was another laugh. Tears came to her eyes and started rolling down uncontrollably. Anyone she met looked at her with disgusted face and ran away from her except two people. When she had heard that she was going to have a baby brother or sister, she was ecstatic but also worried if her baby sibling would be scared of her or not. She was greatly relieved that her baby brother liked her instead of fearing her.
Even the Queen and Lady in armor were also in tears. The Queen was relieved that her newborn son loved his elder sister. The Queen never had the courage to look and visit her daughter because when she saw her, she was reminded of her own powerlessness.
The Lady in armor pushed the wheelchair and along with the Queen and her two cousins, entered the Manor. She stopped them after entering the gates of the manor and hurried inside to at least make some space to sit down.
After a while, the Queen, her two children and the Lady in armor sat in the living room of their new room, bracing themselves to live their life after the sudden abrupt turn.
