Two shadows neared the tier 6 wolf from either side. They were as fast as galloping horses, every step propelled them closer and closer to the wolf.

The huge figure of the wolf slowly turned towards one of the shadows. It raised its giant paw and slammed towards the rapidly approaching Liu Zhong. Violent lightning surged on the end of its claws. Anything it touched would explode from the rampaging energy.

Just as the paw got close, Liu Zhong's body turned semi-transparent as if he became an actual shadow.

"Darkwind Severing!" His shadowy form narrowly dodged the paw and switched directions. As the gigantic wolf looked at where Liu Zhong was going, it saw its tier 5 underling's neck spurt a fountain of blood.

"WOOF!" The wolf's cry resounded across the forest. The tier 6 wolf once again turned around seeing the same scene happen to his second subordinate. It released an angry roar as it realized that it was being played, swinging its paw in the direction of Jia Shuren, but she was already long gone. The massive paw collided with a tree, causing it to explode into bits and pieces which propelled forward like shrapnel.

The two shadows retreated with their mission accomplished. Now that the two-tier 5 beasts were taken care of the fight would be much easier than before.

"F*ck, does anyone have a recovery potion?" Jia Shuren winced as she made her way back to the group while clutching her arm. A trail of blood seeped down her tunic from a deep gash. If she did not have the tunic, it was very likely her arm would be torn off. She couldn't use Elemental Infusion like some of the others to evade danger so she took a heavy hit from the tier 5 wolf to swiftly kill it.

"Here! Quickly get in position, the wolf is approaching!" Huo Long threw a red potion to Jia Shuren and ran towards the wolf with Gong Yu. Jia Shuren quickly downed the expensive recovery potion and the wound on her arm healed at a visible face, her pale face also visibly regained color. Zhao Fan, who observed from the side, was in awe. No wonder qi and recovery potions are so expensive!

The huge wolf raised its paw at the oncoming Huo Long and its aura surged. A bolt of lightning as huge as a tree suddenly shot straight at him. It was huge and highly condensed, the attack was one of the wolf's abilities.

"Get behind me!" Gong Yu stepped up in front of Huo Long and raised his shield. The lightning took less than a second to cross the 20 or so meters of space between the wolf and the group.

"Angry Earth Giant! Earth blockade!" Gong Yu's skin turned reddish-brown. His small round shield released a brown light which expanded outwards from the center and turned the shield into a large half-sphere as tall as Gong Yu.

BOOM

The two clashed and produced a gale that shook the nearby trees. Gong Yu stepped back slightly as two streams of blood ran down each nostril, His teeth gritted and his eyes squinted but he held on and managed to cancel out the bolt of lightning.

"Dusk Fangs! Darkwind Severing!" Liu Zhong suddenly appeared next to the wolf again, and his twin swords became darker and grew in length. His signature technique empowered the ability of his weapons to pierce the wolf's side. Strangely, the wolf didn't react, but instead suddenly turned in the opposite direction and raised its paw.

"Wind-" Jia Shuren reappeared at the side opposite Liu Zhong again and tried to use her ability. However, as soon as she channeled the ability instead of its side tearing open, the wolf was turning towards her with a glowing paw reaching in her direction.

"AHHH!" Before she could finish channeling she felt her muscles spasm as a lightning bolt ran through her body. Luckily, it wasn't strong enough to kill her since it was released for a short time, but it still injured her severely and paralyzed Jia Shuren.

"Water Claws!" Zhao Fan appeared near Jia Shuren before the beast managed to clasp its claws around her defenseless body. His gauntlet formed sharp claws, cutting down at the paw in the nick of time.

If the wolf hadn't defended its paw at all, it wouldn't have been sliced off, but it would be severely injured nonetheless. Unwillingly it extended its claws and exchanged attacks with Zhao Fan. Their claws intersected and Zhao Fan flew back. The short delay Zhao Fan caused Jia Shuren to regain control and hobble out of the range of the wolf.

Huo Long and Gong Yu also arrived before the wolf. Huo Long covered his long spear in lightning qi, and sparks occasionally scattered around. Huo Long stabbed using his long spear and pierced the chest of the wolf slightly causing slight paralysis. At the same moment, a giant fireball flew over from afar aiming at the paralyzed wolf. The entire time Zhou Da was charging a spell, causing it to reach enormous proportions.

"ROAR!!!" As the group was prepared to rain blows on the wolf, it raised its head and roared. A ferocious aura of lightning exploded from deep within its body, sending out a shockwave of lightning.

Zhao Fan and the rest felt like they couldn't move their bodies as lightning attacked their bodies and an aura of ferocity assaulted their souls. The wolf raised its torso and swung at the approaching massive fireball with crisscrossed glowing claws. A gigantic X-shaped bolt of lightning escaped its claws and shot at the fireball.

BOOOOM

The lightning was destroyed in a flash, causing an earth-shaking explosion in the sky. The somewhat dimmed sphere of death continued and struck the flickering claws of the wolf.

"Wooof!" The wolf's claws cracked and its figure was enshrouded by the incinerating flame. When the group finally regained their consciousness, they saw that the wolf was sent spiraling and slamming across the ground, its hide seared in multiple spots. The wolf's majestic appearance was now reduced to that of a battered and heavily injured prey.

Before everyone could process what happened, the wolf quickly stood up and ran away!

"What are you waiting for, let's go get it!" Zhou Da, who was hiding in the periphery arrived near the group.

"That's right! If it escapes we won't earn a single spirit stone!" Jia Shuren urged and started running after it. If the others hunted mostly for the battle experience, Jia Shuren and Zhao Fan were the two who desperately needed the money. Everyone quickly snapped out of it and started running after Zhou Da and Jia Shuren.

The injured wolf left a trail of blood along the snowy floor from its side. It was too exhausted to run at its top speed. The group managed to close the gap quickly, and just as they were about to enter the attacking distance, a cave appeared in front of them. They stopped for a moment as the wolf ran directly into what very likely could be its lair.

"Let's head inside. Everyone be careful!" Huo Long quickly threw everyone a qi recovery potion. As they downed the potions, they heard a rustle behind them.

"We have searched in the periphery for so long, and fate has shone on us finally! A tier 6 elemental wolf is just enough to fill our quota, and it's even heavily injured!"
