Toying around with the strange power which allowed him to seemingly control everything, Zhao Fan started to feel drunk. He felt like an omnipotent god who controlled everything and the best part was he did not use up any of his qi.

BOOM

Zhao Fan felt the ground beneath him shake from the impact of the lightning on the hill above. He did not notice at all before, but now he realized that the outside world had darkened considerably.

"This is a cultivation world right? From what I know the heavens would definitely not tolerate a situation like this" Hei Long didn't slack off during his teenage years and even in university he diligently burned the midnight oil reading cultivation novels. Knowing he didn't have much time, Zhao Fan tried to directly siphon the energy from the beasts into this dark dantian instead of passively absorbing it through his body. He found that just as it entered the dark sphere, it was pulled in by a growing attracting force.

"Should I try to stop it?" Zhao Fan felt an instinctual fear from the dark ball which was showing signs of awakening. After all, the last time he tried to excessively consume beast essence, he got reduced to a near dead state.

"No, my special power is unique and should allow you to stop the dark sphere if anything happens. You should have time to finish absorbing the weaker beast then stop the dark sphere's awakening and passively absorb the larger one" Hei Long communicated with Zhao Fan directly in his mind.

The plan sounded plausible so Zhao Fan did not have any more reservations. The dark ball spun with a high velocity and like a black hole, it sucked up all the beast essence in the beast. One had to understand that it took a few hours for him to passively absorb the beast essence of a weaker beast. At that time, the black sphere probably spun at an extremely slow speed because of the slow rate of diffusion of energy in his body.

When it finished its absorption, it didn't slow down at all and tried to absorb the nearby qi.

"F*ck, this hurts!" Zhao Fan felt a feeling akin to water going into his lungs as his body went into a state of frenzy trying to expel the qi from the black sphere.

"Dumbass, did you not listen to me at all?" Hei Long yelled in fury. Before Zhao Fan could use his power to control the sphere, he felt as if a power belonging to him was already suppressing the sphere. He realized that just like him, Hei Long could also control the mysterious energy.

Slowly, the dark sphere began to come to a stop and the painful sensation alleviated. The cave they were in trembled repeatedly as lightning bombarded its ceiling. Zhao Fan knew that it would not last long.

The large corpse of the larger wolf suddenly split apart and Zhao Fan flew in. A moment later, a light penetrated the ceiling as a small hole was made.

BOOOOOOOM

A bright bolt of lightning fully entered the cave and landed on the carcass of the tier 6 beast.

"Blrrrgggg" Zhao Fan couldn't even scream as his body convulsed in pain, letting out a string of random screeches instead. His strong body posed no resistance to the rampaging lightning and terrible pain overwhelmed him as his muscles involuntarily twitched. For some reason, Zhao Fan was able to endure the effects of lightning as a cool feeling ran over his body again. Concentrating on the state of his body he realized that for some reason the dark sphere did not completely stop spinning and was currently diffusing a dark energy throughout his body. The energy caused his body to rapidly heal and even become stronger which muffled the pain by a lot.

"Good, that actually worked!" A relieved voice rang out in Zhao Fan's head.

"That was your doing?" Hei Long did not respond and as Zhao Fan was about to ask again, he sensed the gathering of thunder above the cave. Before he could even start thinking of a solution, a set of instructions were voiced by the other party.

"Use the special energy to create a shield made of beast essence from the tier 6 beast!"

Zhao Fan did not question Hei Long and did as he was told. The amount of beast essence in the beast was frightening, he could not control most of it in a short period of time. Still, the beast essence was much stronger than his Qi, so even if he could not use all of it, it would still create a formidable barrier.

As he was concentrating on creating the shield above the carcass of the wolf he was in, Hei Long focused on spreading the dark energy around his body.

"So strong!" Zhao Fan felt his body growing stronger and stronger, every single cell filled with raging power. If he was able to shatter a tree before, he felt that he could now easily shatter a boulder with his bare hands.

The aura of lightning reached its peak and shot down from the sky! It was clearly half a level stronger than the one before causing Zhao Fan to lose his earlier confidence.

A loud sound of thunder resounded through the area shortly after the lightning bolt was released. It was so fast that in a single flash it arrived at the shield Zhao Fan made directly above him. Not even holding the lightning for a second, it was quickly cracked in two and the remainder of it landed on the beast carcass where Zhao Fan lay.

The already ugly corpse was quickly cooked by the power of the lightning and it spread towards Zhao Fan's body. Once more, nonsensical shrieks came out of his mouth as his body violently convulsed and burned. A part of the lightning had even managed to enter his merged soul. A pain akin to getting stung by a million bullet ants spread in every part of the soul before it was forced to seperate. For some reason, the lightning followed Hei Long's soul, as if it was attracted to the special energy he emitted which caused him to lose consciousness.

Although lightning roasted Zhao Fan's body, it was quickly regenerated by the dark energy and he himself sighed in ecstasy from the insufferable pain to his soul being removed. As Hei Long and him separated, a wave of exhaustion overwhelmed him. Having survived the two waves of lightning, there didn't seem to be any more so Zhao Fan finally relaxed. Sleep soon overtook him as tension escaped from his rigid body.

Slap

"Zhao Fan? Wake up!" Zhao Fan faintly heard a voice and his body being pulled by someone.

"Okay, okay, I'm getting up. '' He opened his eyes and saw the dark cave ceiling. He sat up and saw Liu Zhong crouching next to him, about to slap him again. His body was battered and his clothes were torn, it was surprising he survived the attack of the sixth tier beast.

This f*cker dares to slap me? Veins bulged on Zhao Fan's head as he suppressed himself. For some reason, he suddenly had the urge to pounce on Liu Zhong and beat him into a pulp!

"Woah, calm down, I'm not gonna tell anyone!" Liu Zhong tried to jump away, but stumbled and fell over instead.

Zhao Fan was confused about what Liu Zhong was talking about but then he felt a cold breeze. He looked down and found that he was completely naked. His clothes must have been burnt by the lightning! Liu Zhong pulled him out of the beast and found him naked, it was hard not to make conclusions in such a situation.

Suddenly Zhao Fan's vision was clouded by anger at the misunderstanding, making him want to silence Liu Zhong!

"What's wrong with me?" Zhao Fan saw the fear in Liu Zhong's eyes because of the murderous glint in his eyes and returned to clarity. He hastily inspected his body and found that even though the dark sphere had stopped spinning, some residual dark energy was in his body. Zhao Fan quickly ran up to a wall and under Liu Zhong's questioning gaze, started to hit it with his full strength. Small craters were produced in the hard, rock wall, leaving behind a large net of cracks stretching a few meters. He repeatedly assaulted the wall with devastating hits which became weaker and weaker until Zhao Fan felt they were back to their normal strength.
