《Blue mage》Chapter 8: Is that a dungeon?

"What is that?" I say out loud as I stare at a glowing blue oval. I have to know what this thing does. As I reach my hand out to touch the glowing portal of maybe(?) death. I recall how I got here.
After the fight with the Djin, Luke and I talked a bit, he invited me to come back to Llyn, so that's what they called it, I declined and explained that I just wanted to hunt. I was willing to trade monster parts for clothing though.
When Luke left I went on a hunting spree. I might have wiped out the spider of unusual size population. I also hunted some cyclops. Got two new Skills.
[Roar(Common) - You roar, it's not that complicated. Incite fear in being with a lower level than the skill level.]
[Web Weaving(Uncommon) - You create and weave webs in an intricate fashion. Web resilience equal to users resilience + skill level]
I chose to slot in web weaving rather than roar just because web weaving sounded like more fun. The webs came out of my fingertips, thankfully, and were extremely resilient. I also tried out my new skill Elemental Manipulation(Masterwork).
There I was excited to wield the elements like one of my favorite characters. I activated the skill channeling the full might of my mana. The earth rumbles and a pillar of earth rockets a total of 2 inches before my mana ran out.
I just stared at the small protrusion from the ground for a couple of seconds before wiping the memory of what just happened from my brain.
After that embarrassment, I started to look for a new monster even farther from civilization. It only took somewhere between 5 and 20 hours, I've noticed that I've gotten really bad at telling time, to find the glowing portal.

I touched the portal.
[WECOME THE ARENA OF THE DAMNED, you must win three fights in a row to leave this dungeon. If you fail you will be made a prisoner. Prisoners are only released when a challenger beats the dungeon. There is 1 prisoner. Your first fight is in 1 minute.]
I didn't even notice the notification due to my new surroundings. I was in a very large colosseum given that I was at my full 29 feet and I was only halfway up the absolutely massive walls. The crowd stands just kept on reaching up until I couldn't see the top. Going back to the crowd, they were roaring. The ground was literally shaking with how load they were. A voice spoke over the rabble.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, if you can even be called that! Tonight we have a new challenger to our small arena!" The cheers soar. "On the left side of the ring, we have Jace! At 29 feet tall and weigh in at over 5 tons of draconic fury!" The Boos are deafening. "In order to match the oversized challenger we've had to change up the lineup! The first round to going to Drew "Big Mac" Dreamer!"
Theme music starts to play as the screams reach a crescendo. The ground shakes even more than before in a rhythmic fashion, almost like someone walking. Then I see him, an extremely muscular being over 30 feet tall. This man could not be human, it did leave the possibility that was another race of some kind but I was betting on monster.
Once "Big Mac" enters the center of the ring puts his hands in a victorious pose and laughs even louder than the crowd's screams of jubilation. He points a finger at me before the voice comes back.

"Let the first bloodbath start!" The voice says before a loud ringing noise. "Big Mac" is still laughing just now he's cracking his knuckles while trying to look threatening. I roll my shoulders and take a deep breath. The fighter only laughs harder, "Nerves got you? Too bad, I wanted a fight." Big Mac says mockingly right before he gets a face full of fire.
Staggering Big Mac screams out "So that's how you want to play this? Fine." Before charging right at me. I, in my most gentlemanly fashion, charge right back at him.
When we meet my fist slammed into his face as my webs wrapped around his head. I yank my hand back and his head follows. My fist cracks against his head right before his fist slams into my ribs and actually manages to break one. The only thing that was able to even hurt me at all recently was the Djin and that was levels higher and a tier 3.
Knowing that this fight had a real chance of me dying I grab his head in both of my hands and use my most damaging attack, Breath of the Wyvern(Epic). I kept the breath active while Big Mac did his best to break all of my ribs. After 20 seconds his attacks stop and he tried to force his way out of my grasp. After 30 seconds his head was just a skeleton.

Elizabeth cursed her luck as after 5 years and plenty of hardship she managed to get to level 25 and evolve her Inventor(Common) class. That's where things went wrong. She got a vibration specialization, which was not on the list that the local lord had posted. This meant that the tech she made had to be put on discount for those stupid Integrators to use. After being plopped down on this brand new world 5 years ago with, what she thought was, a powerful class. She had only managed to fuck up time and time again. Normally because the people who had joined her party kept fucking her over. She was sold into slavery 5 times. Until the High Emperor took power and made it illegal to own slaves her life was just escaping and then getting sold again.
It's all lead up to her party dying in this fucking dungeon and her being captured. After the announcement that the level cap had changed from 25 to 50 a couple of weeks ago, everyone was scrambling to level up and dethrone the High Emperor. In Elizabeth's case, she just wanted to get strong enough that no one would mess with her.
Well, now she was stuck watching every party that came through, each one failing to the same enemy that killed her party, Big Mac. God, she hated that name by now, seeing her hopes crushed by that stupid fucking giant over and over again was heart-destroying.
The was until He showed up.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
