《Freedom in the New World》Working on the base

James woke up in a comfy warm bed. He looked at the clock, 6:03. He rolled over to see Reo sleeping like the beautiful angel she was. James cupped her cheek gave her a kiss on her other cheek, then got out of the bed.
James got dressed quietly, went downstairs, put on a pot of coffee just the way she liked it, and started cooking an American style breakfast. Reo had said she had wanted to try an American breakfast, but then again maybe she was referring to him. Oh well, they could do that later.
James called Reo downstairs when he was just about done cooking. The breakfast he prepared for her was synthetic bacon, scrambled eggs, and a pancake. James really did not like the taste of synthetic bacon, just another downside of this corrupt and dying world. James placed the plate on the table just as Reo walked into the kitchen.
James handed Reo her cup of coffee with a kiss and a smile. She tried the meal he had cooked; she did not like the synthetic bacon as expected but she enjoyed the pancake and scrambled eggs even asking for seconds. When all was said and done James left Reo’s house with just a ‘few’ kisses, a sleepy smile, and the promise of the same thing next weekend.
James quickly made the short way back to his home on foot, not bothering to call his driver. As he had considered calling them, he thought, ‘It is that kind of thinking and that kind of action that has destroyed this world, being so short sighted and lazy.’
James knocked on his own door, there was no answer for a moment, then his American bodyguard opened the door with a wide smile on his face. “Did you have fun last night?” James simply smiled and said, “Yes, but please do not ask those kinds of questions again.” The smile on the guards face rapidly receded but did not entirely disappear. “Very well sir.” James’ own smile grew even wider as he walked by him into the house.

James took a shower, depositing his clothes from the night before in the hamper, and switching into something more comfortable. A white t-shirt and sweatpants. James looked at the clock, “My account suspension should be over, let’s play!” James was excited to see what the admin had done, but the more he thought about it the more concerned he got. He brushed those thoughts aside; he would have to cross those bridges when he came to them.
James hoped into his rig and logged into Yggdrasil. James was greeted by the sounds of a bustling city, he quickly realized that city was Mistra. James looked and saw something new on his Hud. The notice was accompanied by a 'ding'.
Congradulations James!

James was curious, was it like the original or... James stretched out his hand and tried to press the yes option. To his surprise he felt it. It was there and no sooner had he pressed it was the blue box replaced by another.

Before James could get to those boxes, he nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "So is this some of what you got for going through that bullshit dungeon?" Said Sasha as she looked form him to the screens in front of him. "You can see them?" Sasha looked at him as if he were stupid. "Uh duh, of course I can see the large blue squares hovering in the air." That was new, James thought.

"So are you going to show me that buff you mentioned?" James tried to calm his thumping heart as he began sifting through the notifications for the right one. There it is.

"Wow that's awesome! You my friend would make a great PVPer." James looked at her, "Maybe, but m not interested in PVP. This system however, will make me one eventually." James said while looking back a the blue boxes. Sasha just looked at him, she really wondered what he meant. She rememberd him saying this was from an old manga. What was in that story? She would have to look into it later.
James stirred from his thoughts, he said, "Inventory." The prompt he was given had a pleasent amount of items in it. James tapped on the largest of the data crystals, only to be presented with a little more information this time. "It says they can be used as a data crystals."
James began to give Sasha the dozen or so data crystals that the monster's had dropped the day before. "You and the others can handle these, I am going to go work on the base." Sasha simply nodded with a smile on her face, she was very happy to be in this guild.
